Chapter 56

Ivy POV

I listened to Abby question Lois and damn, my girl was an actress. I didn't know if I should feel pity for Lois - he was being used as a pawn in our silly game.

I could see the tension on his face when Abby asked him why he had an affair with Kharis, his girlfriend. Abby had told him that we had seen pictures and videos of both him and Kharis having hot steamy sex.

Lois was perplexed. I was scared for him but I held my ground. I wanted to get Kharis out of the way so badly and I was ready to do anything for it to happen.

Abby had come to Frederick's house that morning with a photographer. While Abby sat close to Lois, the photographer took photos of every moment between them. The photographer had captured when Abby fed Lois with the salmon when Lois smiled at Abby when Abby kissed him quickly on the lips and more.

Abby was such a badass and everything happened without Lois suspecting a thing. The plan was to have the photographer twist Abby's photo and change it to Kharis. We had a little problem though, how were we going to get a recent photo of Kharis?

As Abby sat next to me on the couch, we battled our brains on how to get Kharis photos.

"Is her bedroom locked? Maybe we could search for any photo of her", Abby suggested.

"Huh, it's open but Abby, shouldn't the picture fit into the scene. What if she's standing in the photo or has some weird clothing. The photo she may have may look too unoriginal", I said.

"Wow, my best friend is thinking. You know, this is the first time you are saying something reasonable since the whole Frederick saga", Abby said.

I hit her with the mini pillow playfully. "It's not like I'm in love with Frederick. It is just that… huh… I need him for my modeling career.

"You always say that my dear. What happens when you have succeeded in your modeling career or when there is no love and happiness in the marriage"? Abby asked and threw popcorn in her mouth.

I watched her pick the popcorn and throw it into her mouth effortlessly. As I watched her with my eyes, I thought about what she had said. Was it really just about my career?. What happens when I begin to crave love, attention, and even sex?...

"He'll definitely come around. Before you know it, Frederick would be mad over me", I said although not confidently. I doubted that he would ever love me. I didn't even think about what would happen to me or my career if my evil plan gets out.

The photographer was paid handsomely to not spill and besides, he was highly recommended to be professional about this sort of thing.

"What do you think about all of this, Abby", is it worth it?

"To you, yes!! This shows that you'll go an extra mile to do so much to boost your career, even if it means doing the worst of things", Abby said, holding my hands.

"Does this mean you are proud of me?"I asked her, my face down and covered in shame.

"Of course Ivy. I'm super proud of you and everything you are but first, we need to find a way to get that woman's photo", Abby said.

I laughed, muttered "yeah right", and went ahead to get another bottle of red wine.

"Hello, madam Henrietta. Please bring another bottle of wine for me", I said and walked out of the kitchen.

"How about you invite her for dinner or we could pay the photographer to follow her, take pictures and use them", I said and snapped my fingers.

"Yeah, the second suggestion works better. I will be ruining my reputation by sitting out with these people", Abby said.

I knew for sure that she was referring to Lois and Kharis. I laughed so hard at her. I sat in a cross-legged position and said "I don't know about Kharis but Lois is a good person".

"I can't believe your wedding is in three days", Abby said, changing the topic.

"Yeah, me too. We need to get this done and get the pictures out tomorrow before it gets too late", I said, scared already by how fast time was running.

"I'll text him right now", Abby said and began pinging on her phone.

"Let me check Kharis's page for her location. She must have posted something", I said.

"You follow her on social media"? Abby screamed.

"Calm down Abby", I said, laughing.

"I just followed her because I needed to see her posts and know what she and Frederick are up to. Yeah check this out", I said to Abby and handed over my phone to her.

"Oh wow. I would text this location right now to the photographer. He says we should get the photos tonight", she said.

"How were you able to get him to deliver so fast"?

"I doubled the payment and explained to him that it was urgent. You know I got your back any time of the day right", she said, and I couldn't help but smile at how sweet she was to me.

"It's done, he is on his way", she said, smiled, and raised her hand for a high five.

Just immediately, the maid walked in with the bottle of wine and fresh glasses.

"Jeez, why did it take so long", I whispered to Abby and we both giggled.

"So, tell me, what and what is ready for your wedding?"she asked excitedly.

"You do know your dress is ready. Millicent had it delivered two days ago alongside my dress. The wedding venue is set too. I want a little wedding, by the beach. The decorator gave me some inspiration designs that were similar to what I wanted. Here, this is what she sent to me", I said and showed Abby the picture on my phone.

"This is simple yet beautiful, Ivy. What does your mom think about it", Abby asked.

"She says it's beautiful, as long as it makes me and Frederick happy".

"Abby, I don't really care about this wedding. What is more important is I become Ivy Frederick Clinton.

"Yeah, the name is more important than the wedding", Abby said and stood up from the couch.

Her facial expression changed and I watched her every step with my eyes.

She walked to the window, turned to look at me, muttered, "I do hope you are happy though", and turned back to the window.

I didn't understand Ivy anymore. This minute, she was encouraging and the next minute, she discouraged me. I bit my lip and began thinking about what it was that I really wanted. It was for Frederick to get married to me. I stood up and left Abby in the living room and went to Frederick's bedroom.

I opened the door slowly and walked sluggishly to the bed. I sat on it and began sobbing. I felt like what I was doing was wrong. I thought about calling my mom several times to explain it all to her. I feared that I may be making a grave mistake by calling her. I didn't want her or my dad to get disappointed in me.
