Chapter 101

\*\*DUNCAN'S POV\*\*

With my usual cold expression, I fastened the buttons on my shirt, before putting on the black tuxedo, to complete my Perfect Gentleman's Appearance.

Today is Jeremy's party. Not literally his party though, it's his turn to host the once in a year get-together party for all the werewolves, although other supernatural creatures can also attend.

The last one was hosted by Supreme Alpha Xavier, and despite his cold and snobbish demeanor, the party was a blast.

Although Jeremy's equal to the task, I couldn't help but feel like something massive and wrong was going to transpire.

"Whatever that thought is" I shrugged, despite knowing that my Alpha Instinct is never wrong, and the strongest of all the Supreme Alphas.

As I finished dressing, I glanced at my reflection in the mirror. My expression stared back at me, a mask I've grown to perfect over the years, against all odds.

My phone buzzed, breaking the looming silence.

It was a message from her... I rolled my eyes, ignoring it. But at the same time, my eyes caught the time.

"6:45pm already!" I gasped, surprised.

The party starts at 7, and I promised Jeremy I'd be there on time.

The bathroom door creaked open , revealing Arielle clad in only her towel which stopped mid-thigh.

My eyes widened as I took in the sight of her perfect skin and physique.

"The party", my subconscious mind reminded me.

"Cupcake, what the…?" I trailed off, my gaze drifting down to the towel that briefly covered her.

Isn't she my date to the party?

She smiled mischievously, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

I know this smile...what's she up to?

"I know you're wondering why I'm not dressed yet, right?" She raised a brow.

"You're not exactly...dressed for the party, and time might just interrupt." I mumbled, trying to maintain composure.

My response didn't quite go with hers. Is that probably because of her slightly exposed body?

It's crazy that, despite how long we've been together, Arielle still has a way of innocently getting me aroused and yearning for her.

"I'll get dressed." Her teasing voice sounded, accompanied by a chuckle. "But first, can you help me with something?".

I hesitated, unsure what to expect. Whenever Arielle gets this playful, she's definitely up to something. "What do you need help with?"

"My towel," she whispered. " Help me take it off."

I knew it...she's definitely up to something.

I should be excited and probably go crazy over that request, but what about the party?.

"There's no harm in a little fun before the party, right?" She pouted, tracing my arms with her fingers.

She can always have her way with me…

I stepped closer to her, my eyes locked on the towel, her eyes sparked with excitement.

She leaned in, her lips a few inches away from mine. I could feel the warmth of her breath on my skin and, unconsciously, my body began to react to her gestures.

"We don't have the time for this sweetheart." I whispered, trying to resist her, but my voice betrayed me, as it came out hoarse with desire.

Her pout deepened, and she wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me closer. "Just a little fun Knight" she whispered, her lips brushing against mine. "We could be late to the party..."

"Jeremy will understand," she finished, her voice barely above a whisper.

I felt my resolve weakening, and all the walls around my self-control crashing. My lips parted slightly, inviting her to deepen the kiss.

As the kiss deepened, my hands instinctively reached for the tip of the towel, loosening it softly.

As the towel slipped, I felt a jolt of stronger desire as my hands made contact with her bare skin.

She also didn't seem to care, she was too caught up at the moment.

My hands roamed over her bare skin, brushing her shoulders and tracing her curves.

My gaze dropped, taking in the sight of her body. "You're so beautiful Arielle", I whispered against her ears.

Her eyes snapped open, her cheeks burning up.

Noticing my intense gaze, she got shy, and tilted her head to the side, exposing her neck to me.

With her legs wrapped around my torso, I took her to the bed, placing her gently on it.

My lips trailed down her neck, placing wet kisses on her skin. I could hear her breath quickening, as her hand slid on my chest, listening to my tie.

I should've taken off the tuxedo before now.

My wolf growled, in annoyance.

Why does it always have to do this? So what..if he doesn't like Arielle? She's the one I want.

Almost left with no choice, I pulled back slightly, my eyes locking onto hers. "We should get going...we can always continue, you know." I whispered, having to reason with myself, although my body had other plans.

Her smile faltered, filling her eyes with disappointment and desire, which were suddenly replaced with a stern expression.

The usual Arielle...

"You're right," she whispered. "We should really get going...imagine the strongest Supreme Alpha attending a function behind schedule."

She joked and chuckled at her joke, but I knew it didn't sound funny to her. She's probably just trying to ease the tension.

I nodded, my eyes still locked on hers. I felt rather bad, knowing I also didn't want to let her go, but we couldn't stay there, not now. There's still more time.

With a sigh, I stood up, pulling Arielle up with me. She wrapped her towel around her body.

"We'll continue this later," I whispered, my lips brushing against her ear.

She giggled then nodded.

"Luciana…" She trailed off, "she was supposed to stop by, so we left together."

"I already sent Duncan to get her, he'd get her to the venue." I replied although that didn't sound so cool coming from me, well… Jeremy is also interested in her, so...

...

The drive to the party didn't take long and within minutes we were there.

The sight I beheld immediately as I stepped out of the car, was more like a shock to me.

How in the name of the universe did playful Jeremy get to put all of these together?

Arielle smiled at the sight, and together we walked into the beautifully decorated ballroom. A unique blend of colours and artefacts to give that perfect and classy vibe.

Why am I even surprised? Isn't he a supreme Alpha?

I was still in thoughts, walking with Arielle by my side when we sighted Jeremy walking towards us.

He's definitely going to tease us, so what if I tease him before he does?.

We began talking, more like playful conversation, but I noticed something rather weird. Jeremy's attention wasn't on Arielle or me, rather it was at the door. What was he anticipating?

My mind suddenly drifted to Luciana, and just before I could speak, he asked about her.

He didn't seem so pleased, finding out that she'd conned Damon.

He waved at us and walked out of the ballroom.

I wonder what's with Luciana and everybody wanting her...

"She's perfect," my wolf whispered to me.

I'm not home, or in my office, so there's no way the wolf is getting a response.

...

Moments later, Jeremy walked back in, with an angel by his side.

Taking a closer look, I realized he had walked back in with Luciana, looking all different and classy.

My chest suddenly tightened, hurting me in the process, as slowly, I felt jealousy creeping in.

It was time for the first dance, and it began, with couples showing off their beautiful moves and talents.

My gaze kept drifting to her as I danced with Arielle, although it wasn't so obvious, to avoid unnecessary drama.

Suddenly, a woman charged towards her aggressively, and the next minute, a loud slap rang across the ballroom, momentarily causing everything to stop...
