Chapter 33
**LUCIANA'S POV**
Everyone charged forward except me,I was too weak to fight so I obediently stood behind Lincoln who placed a protective shield spell on our allies.
Caspian and Duncan were headed straight for the leader who Caspian has identified as Jade.
Arielle and Damon fought in perfect sync, one would think that everything going on was staged. She possessed powers I didn't know she had. I noticed that any witch or witcher she touched, aged , and their movements became slower, almost as if they were almost dying. Damon would then proceed to punch them. His punches looked ordinary and relatively weak but I knew that they weren't, considering the fact that the witches fell and didn't stand up back.
“Are you impressed?” Lincoln asked, turning back to face me.
“Yes..I had no idea wolves were so powerful.”
“They are. The top three most powerful races are the dragons, werewolves and vampires. The fae race is very skilled with the use of magic, because they are very connected to nature.” He paused for a while. “Black wolves in context are especially powerful.”
Caspian, who didn't change or do anything, fought with the witches, destroying them with just one punch. He charged forward, his focus on Jade.
“Lincoln.” I called out.
“Hmm”
“Caspian, who is he?I can't help but feel that I know him somehow.”
He breathed out and eventually sighed. “I'm not supposed to tell you anything yet,but you know him a lot. You know him but not as much as he knows you.”
I became puzzled by his words. Although he did look familiar, him knowing me was too much.
My gaze trailed to Duncan and I couldn't help but gawk. He was shifting from his wolf back to his human form and I wondered how he could do that.
He looked extremely hot in his human form and something inside me trembled watching him shirtless, but when he was in his wolf form,I felt something else, nostalgia, pain,I wasn't sure.
The rain continued falling harder, and although I wasn't in the rain due to the umbrella spell Lincoln casted on me,the others were still getting drenched while they fought. My mind trailed back to the events that occurred, and I couldn't help but wonder why any of them happened, why I had a godmother, why Damon claimed me as his mate, today of all days, why Duncan and the result of the people were here, fighting, why all those people had to die a horrible death. Why did Luciana have to suffer like that?
“Luciana!” I called out.
Lincoln turned to me,a disgusted look on his face, well,it wasn't disgusted per say,it was more of confused.
“Why did you call yourself?”
“I didn't call myself, the girl you're nurturing, her name is Luciana. I would like to check on her,I'm useless out here anyways.”
He shrugged his shoulders. “You can only stay for ten minutes because she needs privacy to properly heal…I dont think privacy is the word but it's something within that context.”
I nodded slowly. “Take me there.”
He took a closer look at me and narrowed his eyes. “Why're you so interested in the little girl, you don't know her anyways.”
I reasoned his words and realized that he did make sense. It couldn't be because she was the only one who survived, nor was it because she was really young as I saw a boy her age as well, it also wasn't because I shared any bond with her. “I really do not know why. I'm just attracted to her, like I know her or something…”
“But,do you?” He asked, worried lines forming on his face.
I shook my head. Maybe it was just because we shared the same name. “Let me visit her quickly, so I can come back out and watch the fight.”
“Is it that interesting? Lincoln inquired, smirking a little bit.”
I nodded my head. I wouldn't shift into a wolf and I had never gotten the chance to witness wolves in action. I was always kept away from the public because of my gender and when I turned 18,I was banished from my pack. Eter
“You will need to reduce the size to see her in there.”
I had no objections.
I found myself growing smaller and then, I was in a room lit with candles. Inwas confused, the room wasn't lit up with candles, but with gems. They gave a calming golden color and an ethereal glow.
I continued walking so I could find Luciana and I burst out into the open. Trees, birds,a sparkling spring,I saw a cave, but they were without a sun. I spotted Luciana not too far away from me.
She was lying on vines that had been suspended to trees and woven into to form a fancy bed. I walked closer to her. She was wrapped in white clothing all over her body, the wrap only left space for her nose and eyes.
I placed my hands on her chest as I remembered the way she screamed for help, begged, but I couldn't help. I was really a useless person.
Suddenly, she flinched. I immediately removed my hands, thinking that I was hurting her.
“Why am I worried about you like this, when I don't even know, you that well?” I voiced out, asking a question that I alone was capable of answering.
I saw something. I saw someone, but the person wasn't with me. I saw horns and a tail. I looked around but could find nobody.
Just when I was about to leave,Luciana grabbed my hands and stopped me from moving.
“Tell them not to bother fighting, they already have what they want, and it's not from you. If they continue to fight they could lose their lives and it isn't the time yet.” She didn't say anything after that.
“What do you mean by that?” I asked, urging her to speak again, but she was in her slumber state.
My ten minutes were almost up so I turned back to leave.
Lincoln had informed me that when I needed to leave,I just had to turn back and walk towards the direction I came from.
I finally returned to my normal size when I got outside, but I also noticed someone strange. They were all no longer fighting and the witches were gone. Instead, they were huddled together in one place with Arielle bawling her eyes out.
Duncan was on the floor and appeared to be bleeding, then I remembered what Luciana had said.
“....they could lose their lives.”
