Chapter 69

**LUCIANA'S POV**

I closed my eyes but was later shocked to discover that she wasn't slapping me.

Someone held her hand.

I opened my eyes slowly for the second time in the night. I saw Arielle.

I grinned. I had never felt so happy or,it was more or less like I had never felt so much like a princess. I was saved twice in one night.

“I can die peacefully now..” I murmured to myself.

“Just what the hell do you think you're doing,Larissa?”

“What the..? You shall address me properly!”

Arielle scoffed. “I owe you no respect,I'm not even a member of your pack or anything. Besides, a woman who feels no remorse about wanting to kill the child she birthed herself is no worse than a filthy animal. I dont show respect to filthy animals. They disgust and sicken me.”

Larissa rolled her eyes. “Do you think you're all that because you're dating the supreme alpha of the black wolves? He's not even your mate! He will dump you by the time he finds his mate,trust me.”

“Blabbers from a mad woman.” Arielle commented. “Listen,you can say all you want but do not involve the people I care about. This girl here,is someone I care about.”

Larissa moved closer to me in order to sniff me. “Pathetic!” She spat. “What good is it having a wolf with no wolf? A liability that should be cut off is what you consider loved?”

“Well,unlike you,I know what to do and what not to do,I don't go around torturing people for no reason.”

I became confused. “From the little conversation they had shared, it was clear that they knew each other but I didn't know why they were at each other's neck.

Larissa rolled her eyes and turned back to me. Later, spoilt brat.”

I sighed. She really was just like that. Not caring about anyone except the people who benefited her. It warmed my heart to see that I wasn't the only one receiving such treatment.

Arielle clicked her tongue and turned to me. “Are you okay? Didn't she recognize you?”

I shook my head. “Actually, that fairy guy that saved me,the one that shrunk Luciana ao he could heal her..”

She nodded her head,a cue for me to continue.

“Well,he said that none of my family members or pack will recognize me.”

“That's good,if it's coming from the fairy race,I can trust it. But, how did he know about your background?” She asked,curiously.

I wished to let her know but I kept it to myself. She didn't tell me everything about herself,so it was okay keeping that little secret from her.

“I do not know.”

“You look beautiful! I am so proud of myself and your hair stylist.”

I blushed at her compliment. “Thank you.”

“By the way,where is Damon? I dont see him anywhere.”

“I'm here.” He announced.

“I left to find you guys but instead I found Keira and Luciana who have been giving me strange stares.”

Arielle chuckled.

“Where is Alpha Duncan?” Damon asked,saying his name with so much respect even though he wasn't there with him.

The alpha title was a really powerful title that earned a lot of respect.

“He's talking with a prospective business partner.” Arielle informed, her gaze darkening a little.

“Good evening everyone and thank you for coming.” A feminine voice reverberated across the room.

Everyone turned to the stage and listened as the lady spoke. “The birthday celebrant will be revealing herself soon.”

Just then,the lights dimmed and there was a headlight on a corner of the stage where a beautiful lady was seen.

I was amazed as I watched the event unfold. Clara wore a blue gown..it was a long and full gown. She wore a limited edition necklace, at least that was what I caught from the murmurings around me.

“Do you not know how to stand? Do you need help or something?”

I smiled at the stranger before shaking my head. “I can walk just fine, the only issue is that I'm a little flustered so my legs are feeling like jelly.

Damon took me by the hand and led me somewhere I could sit.

Soft music was playing in the background as he went to get me water.

I watched the people clap and smile happily, I didn't realize when I started smiling with them.

He came back and handed me a bottle of water. “Drink, water is the best therapy for a lot of things.”

I opened the bottle and drank,very aware of the way he looked at me. I dropped the bottle and placed my hands on my lap,extremely self conscious.

“Luciana..” he called. His voice was raspy. I raised my head to look at him.

“The first dance is about to begin..”

“What..”

He smiled at me.

I remembered what he had said before we entered the hall.

“Shit,you're so sexy it's driving me crazy. May I have a dance with you, m'lady? I'm reserving one with you,before any other guy snatches you away,because I know you will make heads turn tonight.”

I blushed at the memory. I hadn't made anyone turn their heads but it brought a warm feeling to my chest.

I nodded my head and pursed my lips as he stretched his hands.

“Let me have the first dance of the night.”

I took his hands and he led me to the dancefloor where a lot of other people were already gathered.

As soon as I stepped on the dance floor, I remembered that I couldn't dance.

“Damon.. I do not know how to dance.” I confessed shyly.

A grin spread across his face. “I am not too good of a dancer as well. But,I still want to dance with you.”

I gulped.

“Just follow my movements, I'll lead you tonight.”

I gave a nod as his arms wrapped around my waist and he pulled me closer to himself gently.

I placed my hands on his shoulders and waited for him to start moving.

He began moving and I followed him,getting trapped in the music. A beautiful melody.

It sounded familiar and my body began to move on its own. My body remembered the song and the dance even though my mind didn't remember.

We switched partners and I was with another person. The scent was oddly familiar and I felt at home with it.
