Chapter 82

**HELENA'S POV**

It's Monday.., a day to visit James Salvador's mansion on the orders of my boss, who sounded as though I know everything about the family, whereas I can only remember the road to their mansion.

As I drove down the beautiful streets that led to the mansion, I couldn't help but marvel at why something seemed to be missing.

I shrugged, finding my thoughts totally insignificant before driving into the exquisite and wide mansion, to the parking space which already had a fleet of expensive cars, making my car just one inferior one at the corner.

I fixed the secret buds, in my hair and ears, before stepping out of the car.

"Being Helena is a whole lot of work." I groaned and a soft chuckle sounded behind me, causing me to startle.

"You're conversing with yourself?" The familiar voice chuckled and I turned around, staring at the slightly familiar face as I tried to recall a thing, but my mind was blank.

"And you are?" I raised a brow, not hiding my disgust. Something about the young man seemed to irritate me.

I shut my eyes tightly, holding my forehead. Suddenly, I saw blood flash, then some weird creatures howling.

Terrified, I snapped open my eyes and began making my way to what seemed like the main mansion, totally ignoring the man.

"Hey, Helena, wait for me." His annoying voice called out, as he rushed after me.

"How do you even know my name? In fact stay away from me" I replied coldly, sounding like a mean girl from the movies.

With the way my head felt heavy, and my mind, like a blank slate, the last thing I want right now Is some introduction or stuff.

"You really lost your memories." He muttered, hurt flashing through his eyes. "I tried my best, I swear."

What is he talking about? My memories are intact. I can remember everything and everybody including Mum, Axel, college and everything. Their deaths too, so what exactly is this strange dude talking about?.

"Excuse you?" I scoffed. "My memories are intact, stop spewing rubbish."

"I'm Lenato." He said staring in my eyes.

My mind drifted elsewhere, 'I'm Lenato.' I heard in my mind, but everything was blurring.

"Stop messing with my head." I yelled at the supposed Lenato. "And stop following me, I'm here to see James Salvador."

"He's my dad." Lenato said and I shot him a mean glare.

"I'm glad you called him your dad, so you're not him." I replied, ensuring I sounded as rude as in my head. "I have no business with you."

"Well...yes you do." Lenato said and I watched a smirk slowly find it's way to his lips. "My dad is out, so he instructed me to attend to you."

I raised an eyebrow, unable to hide my disbelief as scepticism etched on my face. "I was specifically sent to Mr. James Salvador, not his son."

Lenato smirked. "I'm pretty sure he was aware of that, before asking me to attend to you."

I snorted, hiding my unease. "And what makes you think you can attend to me? What if I bought a report?."

Lenato's eyes locked onto mine, intensity burning within. "You don't remember anything do you?."

My heart skipped a beat, what was he talking about? This is the first time I'm driving into this estate and mansion, so what's he insinuating?.

"Remember what?"

His expression softened, his gaze pierced Into mine, as though he wanted to see right through my soul, then he finally muttered. "Us."

My mind raced, but remained blank. "Us?." I repeated, expecting further explanation.

"Our past Helena, you should at least remember something." He whispered softly. "Our bond, all the nights, memories...come on"

I shook my head. Frustration building. What past was he talking about? I've never even had a boyfriend to start with. Is he perhaps in an illusion?.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I yelled out my frustration, and his eyes flashed with pain.

"I see." He whispered "you really don't remember. All our memories were a joke to you..."

He was still talking when we got interrupted by the opening of the mansion door, by a much older man.

That must be Mr. James Salvador. But didn't his supposed son claim he was away?.

"I'll take my leave." Lenato said and took hasty steps away, leaving me in my thoughts and standing before the intimidating man.

"Ah, Helena, you're welcome." James Salvador's voice boomed. "I've been expecting you! Do come in."

I smiled shortly, before trailing behind him slowly. Somehow I couldn't shake off the feeling that Lenato was hiding something, and James Salvador was also a suspect.

He seemed rather uneasy and agitated. What exactly is this family hiding? And what rubbish was Lenato spewing earlier?

Should I just ask his dad, and stand being lied to or investigate on my own? My master has told me a lot about Mr. Salvador, and what I could depict is the fact that he's cunning, and his hands are not so clean..

Whatever it is, I'll eventually find out.

**LUCIANA'S POV**

"You don't have to know, all you have to know is that you're a tool in our hands, and you must be used with or without your consent." The familiar voice said and a strike of lightning shone on the feminine face and just before I could figure out who it was, my eyes snapped open.

"Are you okay?." I heard a soft voice ask, my vision blurring until it became clearer.

"Arielle?" I murmured, familiarising my eyes to the brightness in the room. "W..what happened?."

She sighed, staring softly at me. "I'm glad you're alright."

"Aunt Luci..you've been passing out quite often, is something the problem?." Keira asked, staring at me, concern etched on her face.

It was then I realised I wasn't alone in the room, Keira, Luciana, Arielle, and the strange lady; Lyra, were also present.

"It's been over twelve hours..Uncle Duncan was here too." Luci chimed in. "You got everyone worried."

"What's going on? Really?." Arielle asked, staring at me with so much scrutiny. "Do you perhaps have dreams or something while unconscious?."

What reply was she expecting? I only dream while unconscious. Meaning that there's more to it.

My phone rang, interrupting my thoughts.

Keira groaned, handing the phone over to me. "It's Celine, she wouldn't stop calling, this is like the twentieth call."

My heart skipped a beat.

Oh shit! She must be really worried. It's almost twenty-four hours with zero communication.

I hesitated, unsure if I should answer. Celine's timing couldn't be worse.

"Uhm... Excuse me." I murmured answering the call.

My gaze darted around the room, as I awaited Celine's voice from the other side.

My gaze caught Lyra, and she was looking uneasy as though she was freaking out.

Why is she always like this? My instincts can not be wrong about her, she's definitely up to something...
