Chapter 70

**LUCIANA'S POV**

“Caspian..” I murmured.

His hands trembled as he held my waist.

Calling his name felt so natural, like I'd called it a thousand times and I would never get tired of it.

He spun me around in sync with the music. I let him lead me,my gaze never leaving his. I knew that I knew him but I just couldn't say how or be totally sure who he was. It was like a memory that was supposed to be buried but it was fighting hard to resurface and face me. It felt like there was a fog covering my eyes, not letting me see fully.

“Caspian..”I called again, trying to understand why it felt so natural.

I heard a groan erupt from him. His expression looked pained, like…

My hands moved up to cup his cheek so I could stare into his eyes. He had Hazel eyes. A very beautiful kind.

I continued staring, being pulled in by an invisible force. What was it?
..
I was lying in a garden, the same person lying on the floor next to me. His face looked happy and fulfilled.

“Luciana, I love you..”

What was going on? I didn't even know him. No,I didn't remember him. I knew for a certainty that I knew him but I couldn't remember him.

I was back in the hall, still dancing with the familiar stranger. My shoulders eased as he led me to another direction, stretching his hands out a bit while mine was still in his.

I stared into his eyes again.

I had left the dance again and I was in a different ballroom,a bigger ballroom, an ancient ballroom.

What?

I was dancing again, still with the same person but his face looked blurred. I could see his features, his outline but not his face.

Who was this?

I was back in the dance again, still being led by the man who looked familiar. His eyes looked teary, and I couldn't help looking into them again. There was sometimes about those eyes. Those hazel eyes.

I had left the present once again but this time I wasn't in a garden or in a ballroom. I was in a barren land,it looked like a battle had just occurred. I felt pain and clutched my stomach, raising my hands up,I saw blood. I was bleeding.

How?

I fell to my knees as the pain increased, and I was unable to breathe well,my heart was pounding hard in my chest and each pound brought inexplicable pain. It was maddening.

I saw two people running towards me. They both looked familiar but also not.

They both stretched their hands towards me but I didn't take his hands, the one I'd seen before, the one I was dancing with.

He looked hurt, and as my eyes closed gradually, I could see his face but it still wasn't clear enough.

In the end I never knew who he was.

I opened my eyes as the music stopped, signaling the end. My face felt wet and when I touched it, I realized I was crying. I turned to the person I danced with only to notice he was gone.

I didn't even remember the name I had called a few moments ago.

I walked away and was soon joined by Damon who had a small frown on his face.

“What is the problem?”

“I couldn't dance the entire song with you.” He sighed but then smiled. “I was able to dance something so it was definitely worth it.”

“Eh?” I asked, confused.

He chuckled a bit. “I'll go get drinks. The masked dance is about to start.”

“Masked dance? What's that?” I asked,but before I could get a reply,he had left.

With a sigh and total confusion,I continued walking towards Arielle who smiled at me as I approached.

“You didn't tell me you were a good dancer?”

“I'm not.. I didn't even go to a regular school, how could I be good at dancing?”

“The you I just watched told a different story. You moved like you had been dancing ever since you were young.”

“Really?”

“Yes! Auntie Luciana looked really pretty on the stage. You were sparkling like a moon!” Luciana informed.

I sat beside her and smiled. Whenever I was near this girl, I always felt something and I didnt even know what it was. “Really.. You thought I looked beautiful.”

She nodded, her eyes wide and as she grinned. “Yes!”

“Aww, thank you!”

I saw Jeremy, the person who called me candy heading towards us. Why was he here?

I immediately ducked and hid under the table. Arielle bent to look at me and raised her brows.

“What're you doing under there?”

I shook my head and placed my index finger on my lips, telling her to be quiet about me being there.

A few moments later, I heard Jeremy's playful voice as he teased Arielle.

Was he really an alpha? I had never heard of any alphas behaving like him. He was a perfect contrast to the image I had of alphas.

“Hey!” I heard.

I almost shrieked but quickly used my hand to cover my mouth as I inspected the person under the table with me.

It was Lincoln.

“Lincoln? What are you doing? Why are you here?”

“Luci…well,I just wanted to tell you something I forgot to say.”

“What's that?”

“Well, the invisibility cloak on you fades away when it's 12,which means that whatever you're doing, make sure your parents do not see you after that time.”

I rolled my eyes. “Like Cinderella?”

He laughed softly. “Yes,something like that.”

“Why cant you make it last longer than that?” I questioned, annoyed that everything had to be so cliche.

“Well, that's simply because it's a new day. The day renews itself so puny magic like that cannot stay for more than a day unless it is renewed along with the day.” He explained.

“Oh..”

“Well,I have to be going..” he said and before I knew it,I didn't see him anymore.

I was still processing his words when Jeremy looked under the table. “Little candy, who're you talking to?”

I screamed.

His Rejected Luna
