Chapter 102
\*\*LUCIANA'S POV\*\*
"Have fun Lucian, I'll take my leave now." Damon whispered and bowed at the person, who I was still too shy to face.
"Bye Damon" I whispered back. "Thanks for bringing me here too, I really appreciate it."
For some reason, my heartbeats accelerated as he winked at me, before turning around and walking back to the car.
Now to the stranger with a weirdly familiar voice and stronger aura...
I turned to him and a sharp gasp escaped my lips the moment my eyes met his.
Supreme Alpha Jeremy!! When I thought he'd be busy hosting his ball, he even noticed my presence.
I guess I was wrong then.
"It's you, Alpha Jeremy" I mumbled, my voice barely above a whisper, my face burning up in embarrassment.
"You look pretty, I'm certain the almighty just lost an angel."
Holy shit…he's not flattering me, right?
I didn't even know what to respond with so I just whispered a "thank you" although it felt very weird.
I heard him chuckle and then mutter some words, before taking my hand in his.
In his hands, mine felt too small, just like how petite I was standing beside him.
He kept flattering me with words, until I requested that we just go in.
If I didn't make that request, who knows, I might explode with the level of embarrassment I was feeling.
Did I also forget to mention that he asked me to be his date for the ball?
I agree...is being a date not just about the dance and possibly games and fun?
As we stepped into the grand ballroom, I couldn't stop my eyes from widening in amusement at the elegance.
The exterior was beautiful and adorable, with its catchy decorations and surroundings, but you see this hall right here...it's just perfect.
I was still lost in admiration, when he nudged me. "It's time for the first dance."
Okay...I just hope I don't fall, or dance faster than him.
What am I even thinking?
As we walked to the dance floor and began our dance, my gaze drifted around the ballroom, and I was shocked to see Prince Caspian staring at me.
My eyes locked onto his, and I felt a cold shiver run down my spine.
He was staring with the usual intensity and this time it felt more familiar, like I'd seen all of these before, and even been here before.
His gaze lingered on mine. Not cold, not bitter, but holding so many emotions; regrets, pains, fear…
Or is that my reading meaning?
What am I even thinking? That might not even be the case... He might just be mistaking me for someone else. Who knows?
I noticed Jeremy's steps slowed down, as though he was about to come to a halt, and I did likewise, although my gaze still lingered on Prince Caspian.
He must really be mistaking me for someone else, a totally different person.
I'm just twenty-years old, and I've spent the majority of my life behind closed doors in my messy room.
I never went to any parties, family or pack gatherings or even dinners...
"Luciana", Jeremy's soft voice called, breaking me out of my reverie and making eye contact with the Caspian.
I stared at him, noticing a quizzical expression on his face.
He doesn't feel offended about me staring at the Caspian, right?
Even if he does, so what does it matter?
"Are you okay?" He asked softly and I nodded.
Jeremy's eyes narrowed slightly, as if he didn't quite believe me, but he smiled at me, although I was still slightly lost.
I was wondering why Jeremy seemed to care so much and Caspian seemed to be regretting something I didn't have the slightest idea about, when I felt a hard sting on my cheeks.
I stumbled backward, shocked and disoriented. Jeremy's arm tightened around me, to keep me from falling.
I finally raised my head, with my left palm on my cheek.
Who'd just suddenly slap me out of nowhere? Isn't the person aware that it's disrespectful to hit a lady, worse in the presence of her date?
I realized the attacker was none other than Mrs. Salvador...my supposed mother.
She whispered some incoherent words before turning around and walking away.
For some reason, the music was brought to an abrupt stop, and everyone had their gazes fixed on me and Alpha Jeremy, apparently waiting for a reaction.
A tear slipped down my face. I wanted to confront her, but I recalled Arielle mentioning something about Duncan's hatred for White Wolves. Besides, how can I even confront or fight her? That'd be disrespectful to Supreme Alpha Jeremy.
I felt another round of embarrassment wash through me.
With everyone's sorry gazes on me, I couldn't help but feel unfortunate.
Jeremy's arms were still wrapped around me, holding me upright. Somehow, it felt as though he was trying to keep his emotions in check and prevent an outburst. I could feel it...the temperature of the room was dropping by the seconds...
I stylishly stared at the place Prince Caspian stood earlier, but he wasn't there anymore. He was walking towards the route Mrs. Salvador took.
"I'm left with no choice" I heard Jeremy whisper, and the next minute his eyes went shut.
The surrounding air thickened with tension and his eyes snapped open. I felt a jolt of surprise as I saw that they had changed.
They were no longer warm and brown, rather they'd transformed into piercing, icy blue.
The surrounding room seemed to grow even colder, and not only was I feeling it.
I've always known the Supreme Alphas have stronger powers, but I never imagined they would have this much effect.
Gasps suddenly rented the air, and although the tears still lingered in my face, my gaze drifted to the doorway.
Mrs. Salvador was crawling back into the room; a humiliating spectacle.
The room went dead in silence.
I didn't even know what to make out of the situation.
"What's going on?" Cousin Torak yelled.
Of course, he'd be bothered. Mum's literally his favorite, so...yes he'd always try to defend her wrongs.
They already disowned and sent me away, so what else did Salvador want with me?
A pound from my flesh with no blood?
The room remained silent, and Jeremy's grip on him tightened, causing me to feel his powers coursing through him and begging to be freed.
Suddenly, my eyes felt heavy, my entire body growing weak, and slowly, I lost consciousness.
...
My eyes snapped open, in the familiar dark room, and as usual, I was tied to a chair with no ropes, yet I just couldn't move.
I thought all of these were over??
I yawned.
A part of me knew I was stuck, and struggling wouldn't yield any positive result, but I still wanted to try. Giving up was never an option in the first place.
"Anybody here" I yelled. "Please help me, I can't move."
Then I heard it...the silent and soothing voice of my wolf.
Although she could sound so rude, I still considered her voice calm.
'You're going to be seeing a familiar face...don't overreact or act rashly, with time you'll understand what's going on.'
"My wolf?" I asked, hoping she'd respond once again. "Where have you been all this while? I've been searching everywhere for you."
She huffed. 'I thought you said I should leave?'
"When was that?" I asked, obviously confused.
'Tsk...so dumb.'
"You don't have to be rude, you know...were one, meaning that you should be as nice as I am."
'You're not nice, you're just dumb' she scoffed rudely. 'And totally clueless, so yes, we're not one.'
I rolled my eyes at her rudeness... How old is she again?
Not even up to a year…
'Pretend I'm not here, or you can't hear me…they're here already.'
I wanted to ask who, but remembering that she called me dumb, I just shrugged.
Getting tongue lashed by a part of me isn't even nice.
I heard footsteps approaching, growing louder with each passing second.
My heart began to pound in my chest, as anxiety washed over me.
The door creaked open, and a figure stepped into the darkroom. Somehow, I could tell it was a figure and not just red lips.
A bright light suddenly shone on both of us and my heart skipped countless beats as you realized who it was...
"Oh no...."
