Chapter 80
**LUCIANA's POV**
I sighed in frustration, wondering why I couldn't remember anything from last night.
And Lyra, who exactly is she? She's rather weird, and I swear I saw her hands trembling as she avoided my gaze.
I was still lost in thoughts when a soft knock sounded on the door. I ignored the knock, somehow hoping the person would go away, but the knock persisted.
Apparently, the person grew tired and turned the door knob, opening the door.
"Luciana", I heard Arielle's soft voice call and I turned to her with a small smile.
"Hey ma'am" I greeted. "You're awake."
She nodded with a chuckle, "how are you feeling?" She asked, staring at me, as though she was searching for something I didn't know.
"Much better thanks," I replied, and for a millisecond, an oppressive silence fell upon the room.
"Duncan checked on me earlier." I said, breaking the silence.
I didn't exactly know why he came over, considering his cold demeanor. Maybe he was just trying to be courteous or something. After all, I was at his house, right?
"What really happened?" I heard her soft voice, interrupting my reverie.
My mind flashed back to last night. There wasn't any memory, yet my chest hurt, my throat went dry as I struggled to breathe.
I tried to steady my breath, but it seemed rather impossible, my hand trembled against the couch, and involuntarily I began sweating.
What's going on with me?
She was still trying to get me to talk to her about what the problem was after I'd finished crying, when the door flung open, revealing Keira and little Luciana.
They began conversing, but somehow I just wanted to disappear, far away from everybody and everything.
Although they really cared, and it was evident in their eyes, somehow I just wanted to be away from everybody, whether they cared or not.
I sighed, and got off the couch, with a small smile. "I think I'll freshen up," I mumbled, the tempo of my voice lowered. "So we'll prepare for work."
I had to use preparation for work as a perfect excuse, knowing how much Arielle loved the company.
"Okay dear." She replied, with concern etched on her face. "Do you need any help?"
It sounded funny, and before I could stop myself, I burst into laughter. "No, I'm fine, thank you."
Did she want to help me take my bath? The thought of that alone sounded hilarious.
As I walked into the bathroom I could hear muffled whispers, but that was the least of my worries.
As the door creaked shut behind me, enveloping me in total silence, I leaned against the sink, staring at my reflection in the mirror. My eyes looked sunken, and my skin was pale.
What happened last night?
I still tried to recall, but my mind was a blank slate. The more I thought, the more my head throbbed.
What was I forgetting? How did I even get to the mansion?
I kept staring at the mirror, as I turned on the faucet, letting the cold water flow to the ground while I just stared at the water, falling down steadily.
It suddenly felt as though I was being watched, but how's that?
I spun around, but the bathroom was empty, I was alone with my reflection, in the mirror.
Suddenly, my eyes turned purple, and my nails grew longer, just like Leonardo's whenever he tries to shift, but as I tried to understand the reason for that, everything returned to normal, and the light in the bathroom went off.
It came back on, and began fluctuating, then it went off completely.
I was suddenly surrounded by people with golden eyes and evil smirks.
Although the bathroom was dark, I could see their sick and disgusting expressions.
"You're coming with us...and this time we will get you, no matter who comes to save you." I heard a mocking voice echo through the bathroom.
"No..." I stuttered, trembling as I took slow steps backward.
"Ahhhhhhh" I screamed loudly, when one of the men placed a silver blade on my neck.
The last thing I remember, before passing out, was the lights coming back on.
"Luciana!" I heard a distant voice call out. I tried to answer, but I couldn't, no matter how much I tried. I screamed loudly, trying to get on my feet, but I felt like a stronger force was holding me back.
Finally, I succeeded, and my eyes flickered open.
As my eyes adjusted to the bright light, I looked around. My gaze caught Luciana and Arielle, staring at me with concern etched on their faces.
"Arielle…" I stuttered, trying to gather strength.
My mind drifted to what I had seen previously; the golden eyes, fluctuating light and stuff. I decided to tell them about it.
If I don't get saved, at least I'd get to save the people who genuinely care.
"T...they..Th..hey're coming, we need to run…"
As I spoke, I grew drowsy, and my eyes felt heavier with the seconds that passed. I couldn't hold on anymore, so I gave in, my eyes rolling back as I went unconscious again.
...
My eyes snapped open, and I was seated alone in a dark room. I squinted my gaze, hoping to at least get a glimpse of someone or my surroundings, but it was as though there was something blocking my sight.
I decided to get off the chair, and look around, hopefully I'd see someone or know where I was.
I tried to get up, to no avail.
What's going on?
I tried again, but it was still the same, and from my limbs to my legs felt limp.
"Is anybody here?" I yelled "somebody help me!"
I kept yelling loudly, but there wasn't any response, and just as I was about to give up, the Red Lips from the other time appeared, with a smirk.
"We will meet again." The feminine voice said. "It's been ages."
"What do you want from me?" I muttered weakly. "It's already past the full moon."
"I want your blood! I want your blood! I want your blood! How many times do I have to tell you?." The voice chanted firmly.
"Who are you?" I screamed in frustration. "What do you need my blood for?"
"The sins...the sins must be freed…"
I groaned in frustration. "And how does that concern me? What does it have to do with me? And who are you?"
"It has everything to do with you, Luciana. A couple of times we've tried and failed, but now.." The voice trailed off "no one can stop us, not even the moon goddess."
I decided to keep mute, hoping the voice would explain further, as I prayed inwardly that my wolf was speaking to me.
"You see, dear Luciana, you might have forgotten all about it, definitely not me... This time, not only will the sins be released, but the greatest demon!"
My blood turned cold, as all the colors dried from my face. "What demon? What sins??"
"You don't have to know, all you have to know is that you're a tool in our hands, and you must be used with or without your consent." The voice said with finality and at that moment, I could swear I heard a very familiar voice.
"It can't be" I muttered, my hands trembling...
