Chapter 42

**HELENA'S POV**

My heart got stuck in my throat as I stared at him. He was my brother..?

I immediately charged forward towards him and examined his face. He looked exactly like my brother. I gently raised my hands to cup his cheek and stared at his sea green eyes, they were the exact same.

I continued staring and I could feel the sting of tears. I was looking at my beloved brother.

“Axel?” I managed to say,my voice heavy.

He raised his brows and touched my hands that were on his face, not saying anything. His hands were cold against my skin. He held my hands for a while before he yanked it away.

I didn't know what came over me but I pulled him into an embrace. His shoulders were broad and even though he didn't respond, I still hugged him. He was cold and I noticed that I couldn't hear his heartbeat. I pulled back and traced my hands around his chest, before placing my hands on the position where his heart was supposed to be. I gently placed my head on his chest to check his heartbeat but I heard nothing. It was quiet, like he didn't even have a heart.

He pushed me away and gripped his chest, panting hard.

“Axel,is that you?” I asked again,my thoughts jumbled, but he didn't answer,he only continued holding his chest and panting.

“Please answer me! Are you Axel! Fucking answer me!” I yelled but was met with only silence.

I looked at him and noticed that his eyes had turned red,his eyes were glowing but I didn't care. I approached him again, embracing him again, finally succumbing to the tears that had long threatened to fall.

“I missed you.. why did you hide all these years.”

His heart that wasn't beating before, suddenly made a thump sound, then another one, until it started beating fully. I smiled.

His breath hitched and he pushed me away, “who the fuck do you think you are!” He yelled.

“I'm Helena!! It's me,don't you remember me?” I affirmed, moving closer again but before I could get to him, with swift movements, he came behind me and hit me between my shoulders and my neck.

I felt the world drift around me and then darkness enveloped me.

.............

My eyes wavered open as I tilted my neck, trying to figure out where I was with several answers clouded in my head. As soon as my vision cleared, all my questions were answered except one- was everything that happened last a dream? Did I really meet him?

I was in a dimly lit room, on a chair. I tried pulling myself off the chair but then, I realized I was bound to it.

I struggled and fought to escape, groaning in frustration. All my efforts were all futile so I stopped, giving up.

"Hello!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs for help, my voice echoing through the room.

"Hello!!! Anybody there?!!! Help me!!!" I raised my voice more, but nobody responded aside from the echo which only returned my own voice back to me.

"I really need help! Please, help me!!" I shouted, fighting to get out of the chair again but it didn't even budge. I let out a sigh, gathering enough strength to raise my voice again.

"Hel-".

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I heard a masculine voice from behind me.

My neck immediately snapped back. My gaze met the same guy who looked exactly like Axel. There was no way I would believe it wasn't Axel.

The striking resemblance was just out of this world.

He was in the corner, resting his back against the wall, looking like a statue sculpted by a professional.

"Axel? Help me out of this place. I'm tied down!" I shouted.

He raised his voice, "I'm not Axe-" he groaned out loud, grabbing his chest as his body slightly lowered from what seemed like pain.

"Oh my.... Axel, are you okay?" I asked as if my question would rescue him.

He didn't respond, he was still trying to catch his heavy breath.

I fought to get out of the chair again. “I'll rescue you. Hang in there!".

His breath was stable again, then a smirk drew across his lips. “Who needs to be rescued more?”.

Tears stung my eyes, threatening to fall. "Your humor. It hasn't left you yet. I really missed you so much," I whispered, blinking back my tears.

His eyes darkened, shooting daggers at me. "Enough messing around, girl. I am not Axel. Who are you?" He asked, frowning.

"It's me, Axel. Your sister. Don't you remember? There's no way you can forget me!" I said, my eyes sparkling with hope.

"Who are you?!! How did a common human like you find out about the supernatu....!!" He paused again to grab his chest. "Why am I feeling this way? My heart isn't supposed to beat." He whispered. "Are you... are you..... my mate?".

My heart skipped a beat even though I barely knew what he was talking about.

He stabilized his breath. "Answer my question, I don't have much time." He spoke again, pretending as if he wasn't aware that I saw what just happened. I was dumbstruck. "Who are you? And how do you know about the supernaturals?" He asked.

"What are you talking about?!" I asked.
"Pretending to be oblivious, huh? Then permit me to erase your memory." He said, moving towards me.

My gaze lowered. "Please don't. I don't.... want to forget about you, Axel. You can wipe my memory, but not just the ones about you. I've been waiting for years and now I found you.".

He scoffed, mumbling something under his breath.

"Please.” I pleaded, looking into his eyes but instead, he averted mine.
“Then tell me who you are,” He demanded.
“Don't you remember me, Axel?" I whimpered, tears blurring my vision. "I am your sister, Helena. Please remember me,".
