Chapter 34

**DUNCAN'S POV**
The fight was going well,and in our favour until something strange happened. The skies opened and light penetrated through it, immediately immobilizing everyone except Caspian and I.

I turned to Caspian and noticed he was watching the sky, waiting for something to happen. The skies rumbled,the rain fell harder,and then,lightning.

The sky was dark and looked absolutely condescending. The same pattern in which the lightning took when it killed all those people, it headed for Caspian.

“No!” I yelled, making his attention turn to me.

Apparently,I was wrong because the light wasn't headed for him,it was coming for me. Lightning struck me and I fell,losing consciousness immediately.

Through my sub consciousness,I could hear people calling my name. It was a strange feeling. I was alive and yet dead.

“Duncan!”

I heard the voice, it was like a melody to my ears. It felt like I was in a peaceful and serene environment, and everything felt right. I wanted to let go,but I knew that I couldn't.

“Duncan!” I heard again, but this time it sounded worried and familiar. It was Arielle.

The voice I heard earlier was soothing and peaceful,it sounded familiar, yet I didn't know who it was.

I opened my eyes slowly and met her intense gaze on me. She looked troubled. I raised a hand to touch her face.

She smiled gently. “You scared me back there,champ!”

“Champ?” I questioned,sitting up.

Arielle raised her brow at me,her face courting a smirk.

I pulled her into a hug. She was the only one who would dare to do that,no one else would dare do that. I could feel her relax into my shoulders gently. We stayed there,in silence,comforting each other.

“What really happened back there?” She questioned, pulling out of the hug.

I tousled my hair. “Honestly,I have no idea. I do not know what exactly happened there. All I know is that,I was struck by lightning and the next thing in your arms.” I smirked.

She punched my shoulders gently. “Never scare me like that,or else,I'll sick the life out of your third leg,then bring it back to life when I need it.”

I raised my brow and tilted my head in curiosity. “Don't you always need it?”

She pursed her lips and played with her hair. A very cute gesture.

I remembered when I first met her,and she was sad and angry and scared. She was a coldblooded woman as of then. She was still cold but she had people who she cared about and she opened up to them. I felt Luciana was becoming one of those people.

Keira burst into the door and witnessed us hugging,more or less in an intimate position.

“Eww! There's a teenager here. You should be more careful.”

“What do you want,brat?”

She rolled her eyes and pointed to the door. “Sheba wants to come in. Oh,she's also with an incredibly handsome man. I think his name is Caspian.”

“Let them in.” I ordered.

They entered the room,but not only two of them but all of them,including Luciana, the two Lucianas.”

“Alpha..” Damon greeted,bowing slightly.

I gave him a nod and turned to Sheba so she could speak. She looked at Arielle on my bed and shook her head. I decided to draw Arielle closer to me and gave her a taunting smile.

She rolled her eyes gently. “Well, we got Damon's mate back which means that the fairies will be on their way,but they might still need to stay for a while due to your injuries.”

“Is it really serious? I feel no visible pain.”

Her expression became serious. “You were hit with a curse,and not just the curse of any witch,but a powerful coven leader. Jade is an extremely powerful witch, his intentions are not clear yet but we need to be careful. Something is brewing,and it is more than everyone in here.” She faced Caspian with a troubled look and he nodded then she turned back to me. “But, for now,focus on getting better.”

I closed my eyes and nodded. I faced the other group of people present and gave a nod. Normally, a slight bow was proper but I was an alpha and alphas never bowed their heads to anyone,especially not a supreme alpha.

Lincoln offered a goofy smile and turned to the little Luciana that was behind the big Luciana. “Remember what we practiced?”

She shyly stepped out of Luciana's back and faced me.

Lincoln turned to her and gave her a fist bump which she accepted. She still refused to say anything so Lincoln proceeded to do weird stuff to get her to talk. He was treating her like a fucking baby.

I understood that she was young and she had suffered an ordeal. Honestly, it was surprising how the girl wasn't dead. Just one hit from that had knocked me down cold but she took several.

“What the fuck?” She suddenly said, swatting his hands away from her. “Don't treat me like a damn baby!”

“Eh?” Lincoln voiced in shock. “You're too young to be using those words,miss. Where did you learn it from.”

“What the heck do you mean? Young? How the fuck is being sixteen young?” She questioned,annoyed.

Kiera poked her head through the door. “You're sixteen?”

Little Luciana smirked,nodding her head.

“Cool. Favorite kpop group?”

“BTS is a given,the next stray kids and blackpink. Basically, I like a lot of them.”

Keira smirked and gave a thumbs up. “We'll talk as soon as you're done with the adults..”

“Sure..”

I was confused.

Luciana turned to us and sighed. You must have had the impression that I was still very young, probably around eight or something. But, the truth is I'm Sixteen,and if you're wondering why I look like this,I have no idea. I just stopped growing,honestly it's upsetting. And if you're wondering about my behavior,the truth is I have DID Dissociative Identity Disorder.

“Oh…” Lincoln expressed,sighing. “That's acceptable information although it is quite weird.”

“I am really grateful for you saving me,all of you.” She appreciated it.

“Where are your parents?” Arielle questioned. “Lete take you to them,they must be so worried.”

She scoffed. “Worried? My parents? That's impossible. They literally fucking sold me to a pedophile dude. I've even been raped ,I am. just lucky to be alive as I am still young and tight.” She laughed. “The bastard tore me and raped me continually. It was a really nasty situation but I escaped because I wanted to live, which is why I'm really grateful to you guys,especially the cute lady who shares the same name as I do.”

I turned to the big Luciana and her face paled, she looked sick.

Arielle also gasped at her words. Likewise Sheba. I could understand that what she went through was traumatic but the ladies got it more since they were the same gender.

“Do you wanna kill the bastard parents of yours?” Arielle asked,prepared to fight.

“Trust me,there's no need for that. The one who provided my sperm had cancer of his dick…I don't know what that is called,and the one who birthed me had an accident and became paralyzed. She can't even pee herself. They will die more miserable deaths than if you kill them,killing them is a luxury they don't deserve.”

Arielle smiled in satisfaction but Luciana was still shaken.

She turned to me. “Those people are involved in some creep shit…they wanna revive demons or devils..something within that context…I heard the motherfuckers”

“Devils?”
