Chapter 36

**HELENA'S POV**

“How will I even forget? Do you perhaps have a memory wiper like they do in the movies? If you don't, I see no logical way in which you will be able to erase my memories.”

He kept quiet,and even though he held a flashlight, it was hard to see his facial expressions,so I assumed he was organizing his thoughts.

“When dealing with beings like us,logic does not apply. We do not own that, a memory wiper. As a matter of fact, we do not need to use that!”

“What do you mean?”

“Your memories will be wiped out with compulsion.”

“Hypnotism?”

“Yeah,something within that context.”

“So,you have someone who studied for that particular reason? How dumb is that?”

“No! We do not have that. That is just an ability that the vampire race possesses. “

“Vampires?!” I choked on my spit.

He nodded slowly,not sure what to do with my reaction,but what could I do? I had an obsession with vampires ever since I was young. I temporarily forgot about the dire situation I was in as I was in too much awe.

“Are you happy?” Leonato asked,amused and confused.

“Am I happy that because I saw something I shouldn't have seen,I'll lose my memories? Then no. But,am I happy that I'll get to see a vampire because they were my childhood fetish and I adored them up to the point that I always cosplayed as them? Then yes! A hundred times Yes. I'm extremely excited. I just wish it didn't have to be this way.”

He gave me a disgusted look and I couldn't help but chuckle. I had no idea why I was asked to infiltrate and act weak, but acting weak wasn't so bad.

He was about to make a comment when he suddenly looked up and sighed. “They're here.”

I squinted my eyes in the dark so I could see who he was talking about,but no matter how hard I tried,I just couldn't see. It could have been because it was dark or because I wasn't like them.

“My lady..”

I heard a deep masculine voice in the dark,and I felt enchanted.

Lenato sighed and I could feel the distress in his voice.

“My, how could they lock a beautiful woman such as yourself in here?” The voice said again and I felt cold chills run down my spine. It was more or less like electricity.

Lenato scoffed “you're one to talk, your kind would have already sucked her dry by now.”

The man kept quiet and didn't say a word. From Lenato's words,I had already figured that the person speaking was a vampire. My heart skipped a beat as I waited in anticipation for what would unfold next.

“Bring the lady outside, somewhere there is light. Don't be late,kid.” His voice was so cold that it felt like I could see the cold air. “Oh,and I'll keep it a secret. Your meeting with the miss.” He informed.

Lenato said nothing and soon, I heard nothing,both Lenato and the man.

“Follow me.” The gates were opened and I was led out. My heartbeat slowed and I plotted ways by which I could escape.

A torch was used when leading me out so I could see my surroundings. I noticed that there were a lot of cells and each cell was relatively empty. The floor was wet and the air musty. I was without my shoes so I walked barefooted,my feet soaking in the mud.

We finally got out into the open and as I saw light, I had to shield my eyes. I had been in the dark for too long and my eyes had become accustomed to it.

I said nothing as I walked in the direction I was led to. The guard kept stealing glances at me occasionally until I had to eventually speak.

“Something on my face?” I asked,an annoyed scowl in my face. The fucker didnt reply but still continued looking at me.

We walked into a hallway and continued the quiet walk again,with him still stealing glances at me.

“What the hell do you want from me.? Isn't it already enough that I'm about to lose my memory? All because I saw something. I'm not even at fault.”

My heart squeezed as I said those words. My determination and resolve was fading away. I saw no possible way out of the situation.

I fought back the tears that threatened to fall and focused on my surroundings instead.

The hallway was huge and surprisingly long.The sun shone brightly into it making it look extra bright but as we walked, it became darker gradually. There were statues and armors. The hallway was painted in a dark beige color and had patterns on various parts of the walls.

We arrived at a door, and the guard spoke for the first time.

“If you want to keep your memories intact,possess a strong mind. I do not know why he is interested in you but..I have delivered what I was asked to.”

I stared at him in confusion. My brows knitted together as he approached me,closing the distance between us. What the fuck was going on.

“You really are pretty.”

“What!?”

“If not for this, the moon knows what I would have done to you.” He said and moved back,pointing towards the door, signaling me to enter.

“These creatures are so fucking strange.”

I opened the door,with sweaty hands and my heart beating faster in my chest. The fact that I knew what was going to happen was terrifying.

The room was cold like it had been air conditioned. It was also dimly lit,but not dark enough. I could properly see the outline and structure of the room.

My eyes caught someone sitting on a chair,his back was facing me.

“My lady…” He said,standing up. I recognized the voice. It was the same person who had spoken earlier in the dungeon, the person who had promised not to say anything about Lenato meeting up with me.

He turned to me and my heart became stuck in my throat.
