Chapter 13
❤️❤️ Separate Ways (Part 13) ❤️❤️
"Thank you," Juno said. "Tell Storm that I am sorry. I wasn't the one who said that to him but if he believes I am the one then I am sorry for causing him pain." she added and then remembered something. "But you are injured, how will you go to his house?"
"Th-at wo-n't be a pr-obl-em Ju-no, a gua-rd wi-ll c-arry m-e to his ho-use a-nd I wi-ll do th-e tal-kin-g," Rumi answered her.
"Okay, please beg him on my behalf. I don't want him to get angry at me anymore. I am truly sorry."
"I wi-ll te-ll h-im th-at."
"Also I want you to give him this," Juno said, going to open her wardrobe and searching for something. She searched for it for almost two minutes before she saw it and turned to face Rumi once again. "This belongs to my mother, tell him if he accepts it, then he has truly forgiven me." she added and gave Rumi a necklace made out of diamond. It was half; as if it was broken into two and a part of it was made into a necklace.
"It's be-auti-ful, wh-ere is t-he ot-her ha-lf?" Rumi asked.
"This is the only piece my mother gave to me when I was five."
"Ca-ll a gu-ard th-at c-an ca-rry m-e t-o th-e pa-la-ce rig-ht n-ow, ti-me is go-ing," Rumi said, getting out of the bed slowly.
Juno went out and returned with a guard who stood outside the door.
"He is here," Juno said as she helped Rumi to the door to meet the guard. "Carry her with gentle buy if she reports back to me that you rough handle her. You are going to pity your soul." she added once they were close to the guard.
"Yes my lady," the guard said and carried Rumi in a bridal style. He carried her outside, Juno following them, until he got to the horse stable. Juno helped in bringing out a horse and the guard placed Rumi on it.
"Please, try to make him understand," Juno said and Rumi nodded her head.
The guard started off to the palace on foot, pulling the lead line on the horse which prompted it to move.
*********
Warlord Emera and Emperor Ariadne were surprised when they saw Rumi. Both of them were outside in the palace compound, discussing when they saw the horse entering the compound.
"What are you doing here Rumi? Why aren't you in your bed resting?" Warlord Emera asked in concern.
"I wa-nt to se-e Sto-rm fat-her," Rumi said as the guard carried her down from the horse. "He is also my friend too," she added as the guard carried her once again.
"......" Warlord Emera was about to say something but was interrupted by the Emperor.
"You can meet him after all he is leaving tomorrow," Emperor Ariadne said. "Take them to Storm's room," he added.
"Th-ank yo-u yo-ur hig-hn-ess," Rumi thanked as they followed the guard taking them to Storm room.
Entering Storm's room, they saw him standing next to the window, staring outside. He made no move to turn when they entered his room.
"Le-ave us alo-ne," Rumi said as the guard put her down to the ground.
The guard left to stand outside the room, closing the door behind him.
"Storm, I am sorry for what Juno did to you," Rumi said, not strammaring as she approached him.
"If you are here to talk about her, just go." Storm told her. He was paying attention to her so he didn't hear when she spoke to the guard.
"No, I am not here to talk about it. Juno has been gloating all day, boasting and telling me how she had succeeded in putting you to your place. In fact she said she was glad to claw at your face. She said so many things, Storm so many things that I had to forget that I was injured and come here just to see you. I am so happy that you are okay," Rumi said as she finally stood next to him and placed her hand on his shoulder.
Storm turned slightly to face her.
"Thank you uh-"
"Rumi," she supplied her name.
"Thank you Rumi, I appreciate your coming."
"I heard you are moving away,"
"Yes, but I don't know where he is taking me to. It is best I leave, I don't want to see her again."
Rumi smiled. "She hates you.l because of your skin color and promises to do worse if she is close to you. I....like you." she told Storm expecting to see some reaction when she told him the last two words. But nothing changed. His eyes were cold.
"Thank you."
"I know we didn't have much time to talk so I hope you remember me wherever you are," Rumi said to him and showed him the necklace, the sparkling from it drew Storm's attention to it. "Do you like it?"
"Yes, it's beautiful. Are you the owner?"
"Yes. But it belonged to my mother before she gave it to me, you can have it to remember me by. Do not lose it because it means a lot to me."
Meanwhile back in Warlord Emera House Juno went to the room she was now staying in since Rumi was staying in hers and was removing her clothes when she removed her boot and something fell out of it.
She remembered seeing the necklace she had given to Rumi in one of her mother's clothes when she was packing the clothes late last night.
She picked up the other half diamond necklace.
