Kira's POV:
"Why are you adding me in your discussion, Adaoh? I can't do what you just said now and you know that very well. And the 'Him' you are talking about, Dean won't even smell to free you," I said to her with a deep frown.
What is she doing? Does she want to make Cando report to Dean about what she said and that will create a big drift between us which I don't want. Whatever her plan is she shouldn't add me to it. I am content with where I am at the moment.
"I know you can't do that Kira and I wasn't referring to Dean at all." She told me as she moved closer to me and held onto one of my arms. "Let's go, I am dying to see outside after so many years."
"You are not allowed to leave the Palace premises," Cando said to us as we are turning to leave.
I faced him with a hard glare and I smiled inwardly when I saw him shifting uncomfortably under my hard gaze. "You don't tell me what to do Cando and surely, we are leaving the Palace premises."
"If you leave the Palace premises, then Adaoh might be freed and you wouldn't want that, do you, Lord Kira?"
Oh yes I wanted that. Adaoh has been confined in this room ever since I was young and it hurt my heart to see her helpless. Didn't Dean tell me she was a strong priestess, why can't she use some of her powers to free herself? She was friends with Sarah before Sarah betrayed her, surely she must know a spell that can break her free.
"We are not leaving the Palace premises," I finally said to him. At least he had put respect in calling out my name. I didn't say anything else again, instead I and Adaoh left the room.
"This is good...so good," Adaoh said, freeing my arm and lifting up her both hands to the sky. "It's so nice to feel the sun and the breeze on my cheeks once again." she added and I allowed her to talk.
If I were in her shoes, I would have done the same.
"So Adaoh, you thought I wouldn't get Dean to give you your freedom for some hours?" I asked her in a teasing tone. Back then in the room, I hid my surprise when Dean agreed to my request.
"I thought he wouldn't agree but you proved me wrong Kira." Adaoh replied and proceeded to look around us. "They are staring at us like they haven't seen us before, probably they are charmed by your beauty."
I doubt that, maybe they are staring at her and not me. She has been in that prison for a long time that the servants in the Palace would have forgotten she ever existed. The only people who knew of her existence and have always communicated with her are Dean, Kando and his brother and then me.
"I know I am beautiful Adaoh, just don't say it out loud to my listeners. I only like hearing about my looks when it's coming from Dean."
"Kira, I have this feeling you are about to leave this Palace soon," Adaoh said changing the topic.
I ceased my breathing for a second then stared at her with surprise and did not even bother to hide it from her.
"How did you know that? I haven't say a word about it to you?" I asked her with my ears and eyes wide open.
She started laughing. Have I ever told you that the way Adaoh laughed and smiled is the same way I do? Now hearing her laughter which resembles mine made me pause in my walking and I think she noticed that too and stopped laughing.
"Well Kira, a witch is always a witch," she said quickly while clearing her throat as she stopped to look at me also.
"Speaking of witches, now that you are free, can't you just make your long broom appear and fly away with you sitting on it?" I suggested with a smile. I always feel like a little girl whenever I am with Adaoh.
"It isn't that easy Kira, there is a loop around my neck which is connected with the chains inside my prison and witches do not fly with brooms and finally I am a priestess, I am higher than a witch," Adaoh said to me with a lopsided smile.. "A lot has changed around here."
"Probably," I said. I wasn't around when they captured her so I don't know what changes she was talking about. I suddenly remembered me and Dean's conversation we had. "Dean told me about you, Sarah and Phoenix. Why would you betray him like that? You could have just told him the truth that Phoenix was seeing his brother instead of lying."
"And you think I didn't do that? I did but Dean was too stubborn to see the truth standing in front of him. I still made him and Phoenix see one on one and she told him right away that she was in love with his brother. Phoenix is very beautiful, I just wish you could see her," she said with a sad sigh. "I miss those days, I miss the old days when you were respected and the pride of the people but all that changes with a snap of a hand. I think Phoenix's rejection turned Dean this way. He hated his brother and even though years have passed and Phoenix is no longer with Ariadne, he still bears grudges against him and I know Ariadne is dead."
I wasn't surprised anymore by Adaoh's revelation, though it just made me realize that Dean hasn't gotten over his love for Phoenix.
I wonder where this Phoenix that could cause two brothers to fight over her could be? Is she hiding? If she is hiding then she must have a reason.
"Well I am glad she is no more in Dean's life. I now occupy his heart," I said with a smirk and then we resumed our walking. "But like you have guessed, I will soon be leaving for a mission to kill my husband's rivals.
"Rivals? Rivals you say? Kira, it is not as easy as you think. If you leave this Palace to Ashland, just know you won't be returning."
"I will return with their heads and the heads of others who will try to stop me."
"I did not mean fight Kira, not everything is about the sword, I mean your heart," Adaoh said to me.
I was a little confused. My heart? I know where my heart is, and it is in Kudarma Kingdom, with Dean.
"Once we go back, tell Cando to excuse us. I need to show you something. I think it's time to show you before you leave."
"What do you want to show me Adaoh?" I asked, peaking interest in it.
"When you were found, they brought you to me. I saw a half pendant fall down from one of your boots and I kept it hidden away from Dean."
