Chapter 31
'We all have a little bit of tears written in our life ... and to erase them we need a little bit of help, a little bit of love, a little bit of magic. Even a small hope helps only that drowning person who has the courage to reach it. If wings were used to fly then a peacock would have flown the highest, flight happens with ambition.'
❤️❤️❤️ A Man Called Storm (Part 2) ❤️❤️❤️
"Now that I am reasoning it in your way, it might be true."
"There is no 'might' Gwen, that's what happened."
"So do you have a suspect in your mind?"
"Yes, but it's too early to start pointing fingers, let me keep calm first," Storm said. "Come on, let's leave the room." he added, leaving the room with Gwen. Gwen quickly fills others with what happened.
Stopping a servant, Storm told him to get rooms ready for them. They will be staying in the palace for the meantime.
"Stay back brothers, I want to visit someone," Storm said to his men as they approached the horses.
Gwen climbed her horse and Storm followed suit, bringing them very close, pulling the horse rein, the horse neighs, turned and rode out of the compound.
"Going to see that lady we saw before?" Gwen asked leaning into him but Storm grunted in response. He still remembers the road that leads to the way to Warlord Emera house and then it suddenly occurred to him that Warlord Emera wasn't present at his father's burial and Marcus now has the title of 'Warlord'. Does that mean there are now two Warlords in Ashland or was he missing something? As much as he hates Juno, loathe Juno, detest Juno, despises Juno, abhor Juno, disrelish and whatever words that goes alongside with hate, he couldn't bring himself to have the same feeling and thoughts about Juno's father. He might hate Juno with every fiber of his being but do not hate her father. The man had even slapped Juno when she refused to apologise to him for hurting him, the scar was still evident in his face. Seeing the scar on his face had always reminded him and always fuel his hatred.
Entering Emera house, he was expecting to see a certain blue hair but was surprised to see how empty and dirty the house was.
He saw Emera sitting outside the corridor of his house, the house in the compound that hadn't fallen apart yet. He stopped the horse and came down from the horse, helping Gwen down.
He walked closer to Emera and was very surprised at the state he met him. He was smelling of strong wine and with the awful smell that was omitting from him, Storm knew he hadn't had his bath for some time.
What had happened to Emera that made him this way? What has happened to him?
Storm wondered in thought.
"Good day Warlord Emera, do you remember me?" Storm asked when he was closer to the man.
Emera stared at him but didn't say anything, he continued staring at Storm like a dummy.
At that moment, Rumi was seen entering the compound, bringing Storm and Gwen's attention to her. She halts when she sees her visitors and smiles inwardly. She knew Storm wouldn't stay away from her.
Looking at his side, she saw the new girl besides Storm and she tried not to show the hatred in her eyes.
She finally got hold of herself and ran to meet Storm, when she wanted to hug him, Storm stopped their body from touching with one of his hands.
"Where did you go, leaving Warlord Emera in this state?" Strom asked as he returned his gaze to Warlord Emera.
"I went to get something," Rumi said, feeling hurt again. When she went to stand at the other side of Storm and their arms brushed, she smiled a little bit when Storm didn't move away from her.
"But you should have carried him inside the house instead of leaving him outside here. He hasn't had his bath and he is oozing strong wine."
"He wouldn't let me, I tried to help him but my father wouldn't let me. One minute he is in the bedroom and the next minute he is in the traven drinking and getting drunk and getting into trouble." Rumi told him.
Leaving both ladie's sides, he turned and walked to the middle of the compound and looked around him once again. "What the hell happened here? Did she chase everyone?" Storm demanded, not mentioning Juno's name. "And where is she? She ought to be outside by now."
Rumi closed the gap between them.
"They haven't told you yet?" She said behind Storm who turned to look at her in confusion. Seeing his confused look she elaborate. "The Empress, didn't no one tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
Moving closer to him, he was tall so she had to tilt her head a little bit backwards to catch his eyes and say the words she has been dying to say since she saw Storm.
"That Juno is dead."
Storm's heart stopped beating for a moment as he stared at Rumi in shock.
"What did you just say now?"
"Juno, the one you hate, the one who did that to your face, is dead. She died on the day you left Ashland and my father became this." Rumi explained.
She is dead. He wanted to punish her, make her cry, break her, when he comes back but.....but she was dead. She is dead. It was unbelievable, but she is dead. He suddenly laughed and then smiled. She was dead. He ought to be happy, to celebrate her death but.......
Why then is he feeling pain around his heart area? Why does a tiny part of him, a small part wished.... wished.... really wished Juno didn't die.
