❤️ A Man Called Storm (Part 30) ❤️
"D-dd-did you hear that Marcus?" Empress Rose asked fearfully.
"Of course I heard that. I was standing right here, close to you my Queen," warlord Marcus said not understanding why she was asking and why she looked so scared of someone behind bars. Someone who is at their mercy.
"That is how Juno talks."
"I don't understand you my Queen,"
"The Juno I knew years ago talks this way," Empress Rose said and pointed at Kira with her right index finger. "There is no doubt about this Marcus. You are not dead. You are Juno."
"Whoever this Juno was to you must have given you hell before her death. And I wish I had seen her, I like her," Kira said, getting up to her feet. "With the way you are dressed I can see you are either the handmaid to the Queen or the concubine of the late Emperor." she added.
"Don't dare me Juno, I am the Empress of this Ashland Kingdom. You hear that Empress Rose," Empress Rose said, still pointing at Kira and started closing the space between them. She only stops when the iron straight bar prevents her from moving forward. "I can give orders for you to be killed."
"Oh, so you are the Empress we are sent to kill," Kira said with a short laugh and before Empress Rose would blink her eyes, Kira was standing in front of her and stretches forth one of her hand to grab the back hair of the Empress Rose through the gap opening of the iron straight bar that separates them.
"Leave me alone you fool," Empress Rose yells out as she made an attempt to pull Kira's fingers from her hair but couldn't. Warlord Marcus hurried up to them and tried to remove Kira's fingers but couldn't.
Kira's grip tightened as she pressed Empress Rose's face on the iron straight bar that separates them. Kira leaned forward and whispered into her ears.
"Stay out of my way Rose. Stay out and for the last time I am not Juno." Kira whispered and let go of her hair, going back to her previous position and closed her eyes.
"She is mad. She tries to kill me," empress Rose said, yelling out the words and she ran out of the prison yard like a mad woman passing Rumi.
Warlord Marcus pursues her.
Rumi didn't know why the Empress was behaving like a mad woman but she ignored it and walked up to one of the guards who were cleaning the blood stain on the ground. She saw the dead bodies of the guards heap on top of each other and grimace.
"Hello, what happened here?" She asked, trying to see if she could see a familiar face among the dead bodies but didn't. She had hoped that the girl with Storm was about the dead guards.
"We were attacked by two assassin's but they have been caught and are cooling off their heads in the prison." The guard answered, flushing a little. He recognizes her as former warlord Emera's daughter and she was beautiful.
"Okay, please can you call Storm out for me. He is expecting me," Rumi said to him with a smile.
"Okay, come with me," the guard said and started walking towards the palace followed closely by Rumi. When they got to the corridor that leads inside, the guard asked her to wait and continue his journey to his late Emperor room and knocked twice.
"Who is it?" a female voice asked inside the room. The guard recognizes the voice as the lady that came with Storm.
"It's John my Lady. Lady Rumi is here asking for Lord Storm. Please my Lady, I want to know if my Lord is with you."
There was no response, a minute later the door opened and Storm came out.
"Where is Rumi?" he asked immediately.
The guard took him and Gwen to where Rumi was waiting.
"Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday like I promised." Rumi apologized immediately as Storm stood in front of her. "I brought you food. You are going to like it once you taste it."
"I was waiting for you Rumi. I told Gwen if I wait for you and you do not come today I will come and look for you myself," Storm said crossing his arms across his chest.
It made Rumi smile at him, battling her eyelashes at him. "Really? You were waiting for me?"
"Yes, you won't believe what happened earlier today," Storm said.
"I was told that some assassin's came to attack the palace and you caught them," Rumi said to him, thinking it was what he wanted to tell her.
"Not just them but I caught someone you and I know."
Rumi narrowed her eyes on him. "Someone you and I know? Who?" she asked in curiosity.
"Come with me," Storm said and started walking towards the prison area.
"I'm going to see if any of our brothers are awake to inform them what has happened," Gwen shouted after him. The other ten men that followed them to Ashland normally wake up late in the morning so they wouldn't know what happened.
Rumi tried to hold one of Storm's hands but got rejected by him.
They approached the cells and Storm pointed at Kira.
"This is who I am talking about," Storm said, staring at Kira. A loud gasp sounded next to him.
The box in Rumi hands fell to the ground as Rumi stared at the familiar face in front of her.
The noise prompted Kira to open her eyes. She stared at Storm briefly before shifting her gaze to the look at a speechless Rumi.
"Oh you went to call her to start another staring contest?" Kira said, returning her gaze back to Storm who hasn't lifted his gaze off her. Then she return her gaze to Rumi who still have a shock expression on her face. "With the way your face is, it is as if you are seeing a ghost. Or do I remind you of someone who just came back from the dead?"
Kira grinned slowly.
