Chapter 30
'Learn this from me. Holding anger is a poison. It eats you from inside. We think that hating is a weapon that attacks the person who harmed us. But hatred is a curved blade. And the harm we do, we do to ourselves. The best fighter is never angry.'
❤️❤️❤️ A Man Called Storm (Part 1) ❤️❤️❤️
Both the Empress and her two sons were up to their feet, staring at the bloody tooths scattered on the floor.
Nobody said a word, the only sound coming from the room was the groaning pains from the three Kings.
"Like I said before, there shall be no king again, your title as 'King' has been taken away from you. I will become the only Emperor in Ashland and you and your Kingdoms are now Ashland. When you get home, pass that down to your people. Altamon, Gala and Puli no longer exist, what exists now is only one Kingdom, one empire and that is Ashland and you may still stay in your Palace," Storm said to them. "And lest I forget to mention, in my whole stay in the Garden of Edenis, I realized I was not only gifted in being a mentalist. I hope the three of you understand what I am saying, avoid me or else......" he ended his talk there and turn his back on them, facing Empress Rose and her two sons with Warlord Marcus.
"Leave now before he changes his mind by killing the three of you." Gwen told the three Kings.
Managing to get hold of themselves, using one of their palms to cover their bleeding toothless mouths they left the room one after the other. The only king whose teeth were still intact was the King of Gala. This wasn't how they had planned. Storm's sudden appearance has ruined their plans and instead of the Empress and her children to be in tears and pains, they were the ones in pains and if they weren't men, they would have been wailing back to their various Kingdoms, their Kingdoms which Storm has now taken away from them. If they could have had a foresight about this happening, none of them would have attended the late Emperor's funeral.
"Call the guards who were on duty the night my father was murdered," Storm said.
Without pointing, Warlord Marcus knew Storm was referring to him and with what his eyes had just seen, he didn't fight or question, he just nodded his head and left to carry out Storm's order.
"You both have grown so big, how is life treating my brothers?" Storm asked, staring at Morgan and Fred.
"Do not call us that. WE ARE NOT YOUR BROTHERS!!" Morgan shouted the last part. "And don't think because of the little display you displayed here would make me scared of you, buzz off, well guess what, I am not. You better go back to wherever you came out from, the Garden of Edenis suits you better than here." he added, breathing heavily as he glared at Storm murderously.
Storm smirked and went to sit down on one of the three Kings chairs, Gwen also sitting down next to him. "I don't know of you guys, but our legs need to rest," Storm said, referring to him and Gwen.
"Why are you here?" Empress Rose finally asked, finding her voice once again.
"What sort of question is that, Rose? I came here for my father's burial and for my throne," Storm said casually.
"Which throne, I am the first son of my father......
Interrupting him immediately, "Our father,"
Morgan carried on as if he wasn't just cut by Storm. "And it is my right to step on the throne as the Emperor of Ashland, not you."
"I agree with you, but remind me again what gift do you possess dear Morgan?"
"I don't need to have a gift for me to become the Emperor, my sword will do the talking." Morgan told him heatedly.
Storm was quiet for a moment and then smirked. "Good for you, you will be using your sword skills against the enemies soon so practice hard." he told Morgan.
He shifted his gaze to Fred who has been quiet since. "I think you are the calm one Fred, I got your name right?" Storm asked with raised eyebrows.
If looks could kill, Storm would have been dead and buried since by the burning look he was receiving from Fred.
"Breath, don't say it's because of me that you cease your breath Fred, else you die from lack of oxygen," Storm said with a smile.
Fred left angrily without saying a word, slamming the door closed.
Morgan walked closer to where Storm is and the duo stared into the eyes of each other. Morgan was tall but Storm was an inch taller than him. That's the only thing both half brothers took from their father, height.
"The sight of you irritates me," Morgan said to Storm.
"Ah, see who's talking,"
"This isn't over yet, we shall see who gets to sit on the throne."
Morgan left the same way Fred had left, slamming the door closed.
"You too can walk out but do not slam the door, it did nothing to deserve this harsh treatme-" he paused when the door to the meeting room opened and Warlord Marcus walked in with the five guards that were on duty that night.
"Here are the guards who were on duty that night." Warlord Marcus told Storm.
"What happened that night?" Storm demanded as he focused on them.
"We heard nothing, not a single noise was heard from the Emperor's room, then we heard the breaking sound of the window door frame and when we rushed in, we saw the Emperor dead and with his personal assassin's," one of the guards replied and he knew down, bowing his head and the gesture made his head touched the floor and the other guards did the same. "Please have mercy on us." They pleaded at the same time.
Stand up," Storm said and they all stood up to their feet, thanking him. "Take them away," he said to Marcus, "And cut off each of their index fingers, this will teach them and others to always stay observate around their surroundings."
"Yes your highness," Warlord Marcus said and left with the guards who were on the verge of crying.
"You are just gloating to our faces because you have the gift which my son's should have had. But mark my words Storm, this isn't the end."
"Can't you say another word? I am tired of hearing the same threat."
Huffing out in annoyance, Empress Rose left the room.
"You didn't want to harm them, right? No one has ever spoken to you in such a manner and lived to tell the tale," Gwen said once they were alone.
"Maybe, they are my family after all, well, except Rose," Storm said to her.
Nodding her head in understanding, "So did you carry on your investigation?"
"Yes, the window door frame in my father room was broken, that was what they said, but it wasn't broken at the time of the murder."
"How did you mean? Are the guards lying then?"
Getting up to his feet and putting his two hands behind him. "No, they are telling the truth. Whoever that broke the window door frame did that to deceive them, but not me," Storm said, "Those who killed my father and his assassin's had left before the window door frame was broken."
"How did you get to that conclusion, Storm?"
"Simple, the Killers killed my father and his assassin's without making a sound, why then did they break the window door frame knowing fully well it will make a sound. Breaking the window door frame alerted the guards and when they opened the room, they met my father dead, how? These killers are highly trained so they wouldn't leave a mistake so someone else did it."
"So you are saying....."
"I am saying there was a killer or killers who had killed my father and his assassin's and also a middle person who had led them into the Palace."
