Chapter 10

I slowly opened my eyes. I didn't realize I'd fallen asleep. I was happy and delighted to recall the girls' night. It turns out well, and another warrior added to the group.

I felt his fingers on my jaw once more. I rubbed my eyes, and I felt like I had dust in my eyes from Kairus being so near to me. It's his fault for what happened this morning because he inadvertently touched my fingers. He disturbs my peace, and now, how dare him went so close to me.

For a little period, he stood motionless, peering into my eyes. I attempted to ask for air by parting my lips. He wetted his lips with his tongue and I didn't know what gotten to him as his big hand slowly places to my jaw.

I closed my eyes and felt his touch on my cheek. I'm not in agony. My heart is racing and in nervous.

“Feel his hand and listen to your heart!” Gretta’s voice appeared to my mind. I did follow her. It was really quiet, and I was listening to my heart. My heart wasn't hurting, but it was pounding so loudly. That kind of beat didn't hurt.
“"Jette..." He whispered my name so weakly. I despise it, but my first name looks so good and sexy on him. I gently opened my eyes to find the rock gone and a fire reflecting in his eyes. I'm not sure if it's my reflection or his. While looking at me, his lips parted.

I followed his stare as his eyes travelled to my lips. He shook his head, trying to gather his sanity, but it had already claimed his lunacy. His gaze is fixed back in my eyes, but his finger is already in my lips.

I crossed my legs, but it was too late; his mouth had already taken mine-

“Ma’Am Aime, wake up! Ma’am! Ma’am!”

I opened my eyes in horror. It was fucking a dream! Oh my god! I stood up and looked around rapidly.

Shit! Shit!

I wiped the sweat from my brow. What kind of nightmare was that? Oh my!

It was because of the girls’ idea about the touch and now my dream even pushed deeper than that! Shit!

My mouth was still open, and I couldn't believe my fucking dream. I looked behind to Vic and saw Kairus standing outside.

“Where’s Toni?” I asked, referring to Kairus body guard. It was Toni who fetch me, and I woke up in the car, and Vic, our driver is already here.

"He's finished his shift, Ma'am, and Sir Kairus was looking for you," Vic said.

Frustrated, I screwed up my hair. How I’m gonna face him? I was fucking dreaming of him! Not even a decent dream!

"Madam, are you all right?" Vic questioned again, "Are you having nightmares? I heard you moaning and thought you were harmed. Sir Kairus was going to wake you up but I stopped him. It’s a lifelong secret, right? “He murmured, meaningfully, and I nearly forgot that he knows as well.

I'm extremely stressed. I pushed those dreams away. We were kissing and almost kissed further. That was all a dream, but it seemed so natural and true!

I sighed and hissed. I turned to face Vic and gave him a small smile.

“I’m fine. Please, don’t tell my brother about it. I’m fine.” I said, sincerely and he nodded. It’s fine since he didn’t saw me unconscious or crumpling my heart in pain.

“Can you give me minute? I’ll fix myself first.”

“Okay, Maam.”

I wiped my forehead once again. I pull my hair back and tie it up. Vic has already left, but I saw Kairus outside, standing....waiting.

I opened the car. Kairus moved tentatively. “I was looking for you.”

I was about to glance at him but I stopped. It’s so fresh that for sure I fucking remember every of it. I laugh nervously as I pinch my hand. "I apologize. I didn't realize I'd fallen asleep in the car.

“You haven’t eaten right? Don’t go upstairs yet. Eat first.” He said, and I agreed, looking about our big house.

Please, don’t make me look at you. I’m guilty.

“Is there something wrong?” He asked He asked anxiously. "You're not looking at me," he said, making it difficult for me.

I nodded. “I just woke up.” I reasoned out.

“What’s the problem? You're still looking good.”

I took a long breath in. “Really?" I asked, gravely. It was his turn to be silent and speechless. He was looking into my eyes, then down to my nose, and then back to my eyes.

I'm wondering if he knows about my thoughts and will he leave this house? Isn't that what I want for? Why don't you be bold and tell him, Aime?

"Let's go," I replied, breaking the stare game. I wonder what’s running on his mind every time his stare goes deep.

He came from a broken pair of wings or it wasn’t a wings anymore but broken, only. He lost his girlfriend. For sure, he loved her. And, more importantly, is he capable of loving others?

This house does not appear lonely today, perhaps because all of the lights are turned on, or maybe Kairus has returned home.

“I lit the fire first.” I murmured. Kairus nodded. Crap, I just noticed that I didn't bring my bag with me. I left it in the car. It's all right. I think we don’t have assignment or task to do anyway.

It's the least I have to be concerned about. I'm dying, and obtaining a high score isn't on my to-do list. Like my brother said, I should only live my life so happily and extravagantly. He said I didn't have to worry about the tomorrow because he would take care of everything.

I followed Kairus in the kitchen. I seated in the table while watching him. He glance and smiled at me.

“Are you hungry?” He asked.

I replied. “I’m not. I ate snacks in the school so no worries.”

I stare my finger. It's the only thing I know how to do. The kitchen is already tidy and clean. He doesn't even ask for help.

"By the way, I'd want to ask about your allowance," Kiarus said, and I felt stiff and apprehensive. I no longer have my allowance. I only survived today because the boys are no longer grounded. "If you have projects to buy. You can inform me so that I can give you some…money”

Hmm…. I smirked.

“Okay. I’ll check it later.”

“Are we good?” He asked, and I frowned, confused.

“Huh?” I mumbled.

He chuckled, as if it were humorous. I kept an eye on him, but he didn't return my gaze. I'm certain he's aware I'm staring at him. He laughed, as if the kitchen were tickling him.

“You despised me the instant your gaze fell on mine. "You never said anything, but I can see it through," he remarked, which surprised me. I never expect him to say that and to see it. “You stick your tongue when you looked at me. You hate me.”

“Does it matter if I hate you or not?” I asked. I saw him stiff.

“Yes. I want you to like me-

“Huh?”

What does it mean like him? He cleared his throat.

"I don't want you to despise me. ”Your brother is extending their honeymoon, and...We have to stay longer under one roof," he explained. He paused like it was hard to say. "As a...as a big...big older brother to you, I want us to live together without fighting."

I laughed out loud. "How long have you been my brother?" In the document that was registered, I remembered that I only have one brother, and his name is Andrew," I remarked grumpily. I'm not sure why I was triggered by the way he mentioned big brother.

He turned off the stove.

"I'm a little older than you. "I'm twenty-four, and fundamentally in Philippnes, respect for the elder is valued," he replied, and I burst out laughing. From gloomy mood to laughter. I'm already insane.

He took the seat across from me. He was scowling at me. He started this.

"You're seven years older than me. Hmm...It’s too old, indeed," I said quietly, as his jaw tightened.

I remarked, teasingly laughing. I looked at him, amused, and chuckled as I prepared to deliver the following words. "What are you doing, stepbro?" I said in a macho tone, recalling Dave's famous line. I chuckled but I bit my lip when I looked at him, and he’s not even happy about it.

“Let’s eat.” He murmured.

I stared to the food that he cooked. There was a vegetable soup, as well as fish and meats.

“Do you have allergic of certain foods?” He asked. I raised my head and I saw him watching me. “I forgot to ask your brother about it .I noticed that you eat less in meat but eat much in vegetables.”

"Anything will do," I said as I picked the vegetables. "I just don't like the taste of salt. What about you, do you have allergic, too?” I asked.

"Uh-uh..." he said, nodding. “I’m allergic to eggs.”

"Ah...why that's I didn't see the sunny egg and omelet I made in the kitchen because you threw it?”

“I ate it, and it’s delicious.” He said. What about his allergic reaction?!
