Welcome, Amber

**Dayle**

I have been so incredibly excited about the news shared last night. I almost messed it all, good thing I went down for dinner.

In the four years that Chrissy and I have lived together, we've never been apart from each other.
She's basically the only air I breathe and I would fall flat if anything tears us apart.

How would I live in New York while she's studying in Boston?

A string of thoughts keeps me afloat until Chrissy walks into my office. She had just gone out to buy us lunch—she insisted on getting it herself even when I proposed to send someone.
“Hey Mr. CEO, can you put that fucking work aside and let's have lunch? I got us your favorite…” Chrissy said as she gently placed the brown bags on the table and walked on to me.
She sat on the edge of the desk, gradually dragging me towards her by my necktie.
“Eat one meal to unlock the other,” her voice soothing and sultry and my fingers traced her arms. She was wearing a leather coat over a leather skirt and top.
“I think I like this offer better now,” I said as she let out a warm chuckle.
“Alright, Dayle, do what you must to earn it…” she said as she walked over to the couch, following her lead like a servant.

Moments later, we were already eating the meal and laughing about a joke that she kept telling. And also, she also told me about her meeting with Ken and Sophie. Chrissy and Sophy met in our fresh man year and ever since, there bond had been unbreakable.
“I always knew that Ken was an ambassador for gossip,” I teased as she cracked up.
“Fucking come on, baby, he’s not gonna miss world-class gossip about me for a million dollar. Besides, it is his Mom’s birthday this weekend. Coming?” she said as she tucked a spoonful into her mouth.
That graceful act turned me on. Chrissy always had a way of getting to me no matter how hard she tried not to.
“I don't know, I might. Or maybe I should. I wanna spend every goddamn moment with you,” I said, the corners of my lips curling into a small smile.
The more I talked about her leaving the more my soul plunged.
“Dayle? Are you listening?” she nudged me lightly as I snapped back into reality. “Are you okay? Are you still worried about the deal? Is Dad on your neck?” she asked with concern lacing her pretty face.
“You’re leaving me, Chrissy! Like… couldn't you just further your med school here in New York? I hate to sound selfish but—”
“Well, you sound damn selfish saying that though!” she snapped, interrupting me as exhaled heavily. “I know hoe I feel about Harvard baby, I've come this far to turn back now. Besides, we’ll constantly Facetime, come over for weekends, take vacations and so on…” she tried to pacify me.
“Am I the only one missing you?” I asked as she sighed.
“Dayle, I’ll always swing by. Believe me, we can make this work… please, do this for me?” She pulled a puppy face as my eyes rolled swiftly.
“I’d be a bad boyfriend if I don't say yes, right?! I'll always support you…” I assured her as we shared a quick kiss but something about her lips makes me crave more.
“Hey, we will make the best out of these few weeks, okay?” She cradled my face and gently rubbed my chin as a smile settled on my lips. “Go on, your promo will expire soon. You don't want to miss this limited offer...” she teased me and that's a fucking booty call that I can't miss.

A few moments later, we were done eating and I was just about to take her down.
I mean, she was sitting on me as we kissed passionately on the couch while my fingers trailed and fondled her body sending a wave of adrenaline in my blood. Meanwhile, Chrissy was undoing my belt.
I just wanted to savor the moment as the door gently opened, interrupting our moment.

Our eyes landed on the intruder it was…
Wait! Was that Amber? Amber Hart? A trace of shock struck my face and that of Chrissy’s. On the hand, Amber was shocked and confused given that the position she met us in was definitely not professional.
“Oh my fucking gosh! I could just return…” Amber said, covering her face as Chrissy stopped, stepping down while I tried to adjust my belt.
“No, no, no, no, Amber! Gosh, it's been, like, forever…” said Chrissy as they both shared two kisses on both cheeks and then a tight hug.
“It's so good to see you, Chrissy! I thought that I could surprise Dayle and guess what? I was really… surprised…” Amber forced a smile too. “By the way, you look stunning…” she added.
“And you look amazing, darling…” said Chrissy.
I was somewhat embarrassed and slightly excited that Amber was here. Why did she come? Was it Dad’s plan?
“So nice to see you, Amber! You look good as always,” I said and we just smiled, somewhat hiding the oddity.
Amber and I hugged. Her hug was tight as I instantly pulled away in way that it wouldn't look suspicious while Chrissy watched.

Soon, we were seated, talking about Amber’s flight from Qatar, she had business to run on behalf of her father which was impressive.
“And you, Chrissy, what do you do now? Running any business? Any inheritance from Mr. Owen?”
“Amber? That was not nice!” I snapped. She still had not left her childish demeanor in high school.
Oh, about that?! Since you asked, I'm about to start Med school at Harvard on the coming weeks and I'm so eager about my future,” Chrissy fired with a sly smile as Amber rubbed her swiftly.
“Attagirl!” I snapped under my breath.
“Well, that is good.” Amber snapped with a forceful smileas she adjusted the sides of her short beige dress.
“So, what exactly brought you here?” Chrissy asked before I could speak. The contempt in their tones were palpable and I didn't want the stress of having to deal with women’s drama.
“Business, sweetheart!” Amber snapped as Chrissy and I shared a glance. Amber pulled out some documents from her bag. Amber shifted her gaze to me and continued.  “All you need to do is sign them. Your father and mine have discussed and concluded…” she explained.
“They did?” My face squeezed a little.

Dad spoke about it but I didn't think that he would push through with it regardless.

*Holy fuck!*

“Yeah, doesn't your father tell you? Well, Mr. Owen said that you knew about it…” Amber snapped.
Chrissy’s face squeezed a little, sharpening her gaze at me.
“Babe, you knew? You know that she was coming as well as the deal?” she asked me as I swallowed.
“I was going to tell you,” I let out.
A text entered Chrissy’s phone, she peeked at it, and lifted her gaze back to me.
“When?” she scoffed. “Well, Ken’s waiting at the airport. I promise that I’d pick him up,” her voice dropped as she walked to the table to grab her purse, shooting a hurtful gaze at me.
“Dayle, I need your attention here,” Amber stated firmly while Chrissy walked out. Pissed.

*Screw me!*
