Chapter 86

***Dayle***

It's been 37 hours now and Chrissy isn't home and nothing has been done. I haven't been home since the time I left home, I can't stand Dad’s face either. It's because of his silence that this is happening. Chrissy is paying for a crime she knows nothing about.
I'm waiting right in front of Ellen’s house, she'd be here any moment. I know that she hates me but I managed to convince her that I needed to speak with her since it was about Chrissy. She strides down the lawn to meet with me, She's only wearing a mini dress and furry slippers, and she's not wearing lots of makeup like she does.
“Hey, Ellen!”
“Yeah. Er... Hi, Dayle!” she answers me skeptically, we've never spoken to each other before so it's strange.
“I need to know what happened to Chrissy, do you know any of those people?”
“I don't. They were masked and outfitted in black. Not even Chrissy recognizes them! They followed us until we couldn't move, they just took her away... It was scary... They pointed guns at her... She's very innocent, she doesn't deserve any of those things...”
She starts sobbing afresh, I try to calm her by rubbing her arms but it's not helping. She's losing it the more.
“Elle, I’m going to do everything I can to bring her back—we will. I promise. I'm sorry about it—”
“Why did they take her?” she asks but I can't even answer that question. Some seconds later I see Ken pulling over at Ellen’s too. Fuck. This provocateur.
“I can't tell why but I'm going to find out—”
“What are you doing here? What the hell is he doing here?” he asks Ellen and she remains silent. He turns to face me. I feel super angry but I understand his agitation. “What do you want? Chrissy was fine until she became a part of your family, everything changed and now she's been abducted by god knows who! Fuck!” He looks rubbing his face ferociously.
“Ken, it wasn't his fault that she got abducted, I was there. Just try to be ca—”
“I can't fucking calm down Elle, it's not fair. If they weren't shady then this wouldn't happen,” says Ken
“Ken, STOP! You're not making any sense right now! We all trying to find Chrissy and not pass the blame!!” Ellen tells him and he shuts the fuck up. He's fucking that Ellen is here otherwise we'd have to get physical.
“Elle, thanks for your time. I have to go now,” I tell her as calm as a dove.
“Okay. Please, let me know the progress how I can help,” she tells me, I simply nod and before walking. I feel Ken’s eyes on me but he should know by now that I'm only being nice for how friends’ sake.

While driving, Dad’s calls keep interfering but I can't answer it. He’d only want me to return home. Not even Hemsville knows that Chrissy is missing except for a friend. Dad is keeping it a secret for safety reasons. I just want her home, I'm willing to do anything to get Chrissy back.
A car pulls over in front of mine, it's not any of our cars but then why?
“The fuck?”
I see Dom stepping out of the car with Bobby beside him. This is Dad’s job.
“Kindly come with us!” Dom says holding a taser.
“You are going to use that on me right now?! Did he also tell you to use that on me or what?!” I scoff stepping out of the car.
“Please come with us Dayle, it's very important.” Dom calmly tells me, and I follow him. Bobby drives my car while Dom and I enter the one they came with.
Silence overrules until Dom interrupts.
“Dayle, I know how difficult things are for you right now but you're strong enough. It will pass!”
“Did you know that I'm not Vee’s son?”
“I've always known it since the one I got employed by your father. I made a promise to him to remain silent but rather protect you at all costs. It's one of the reasons why I was hired. He feared that you might be taken away by Freya. We weren't sure of the extent that she could go until now!” she pauses to sigh. “It's a bit easy for Sir Owen and Madam Lena, they are all worried about you and Chrissy!”
“That was why he sent you to get me,”
“No, it's my will! Sir Owen thinks that you need some time alone—he didn't wanna pry even if he felt terrible. If Freya places her hands on you then it won't be nice enough. She's taken your sister and we have no idea where they could be although my team and I have getting hints, She wants you to herself and I understand why but things don't have to involve such violence.”
“Have you met her?”
“Just photos!” he says “I think that you should speak with your father, I have a plan.”

Ms. Lena scurries to hug me, it's warm and affectionate. “Where have you been Dayle, we were worried about you!” she says rubbing my face like a child, she hugs me again. Wow. I didn't know that she loved me this much. Dad comes to me to me as well.
“I'm so sorry about everything, I should told you everything from the very beginning,”
“Yes, you should have...” I snap almost angrily.
“Calm down Dayle, he's not having an easy as well!” Ms. Lena says.
“Let's talk outside!” Dad opts, Ms. Lena rubs my arm slightly. I give her a faint smile.
Dad and I head out, Dom instructs Nina to get us some drinks since I refused the food.
“I was worried about you, I was scared to lose you. Most importantly, I'm scared that you might just hate me! I want you to understand that everything I did was to protect you given that Freya is not mentally stable.”
“You talk like you've never fallen in love with her,” I blurt out
“Don’t get it all wrong, son! When you love someone and that person abuses your love what do you think will happen to you? It will fade.” he says. He takes a sip from his drink. “Freya and I thought that we would be great despite our flaws, We never worked out but I didn't stop loving the fact that she carried you—a part of me!” he stops
“What does she want from you then,”
“She wants you back!”
“Then I should go—”
“And I can't let that happen, Dayle!”
“But Chriss can not remain there forever. I'll meet Freya to end it all as long as Chriss doesn't remain there!”
“Dayle,”
“No, I will. You would let me meet with her if you love me!” I snap, I know that I'm making it hard on him already.
“Then so be it, but I won't let you go. You'll never return to me, Dayle!” he tells me defiantly.
“I want to know my Mother, I want to know Freya!” I calmly tell him, “If I don't return after two days then you can come in. If I agree to meet with her, she'll let Chrissy go. Chrissy shouldn't be the one paying for our crimes, she's very innocent and I love her...” lt escape my mouth. “I do care for her. Freya wants me and so we should play by her rules while you and Dom do the rest!”
“Dayle,” he places a hand on mine. “I don't want to risk our relationship because of Freya—”
“Sir Owen, he's right. That should be our plan. Once we tell her that Dayle is ready to meet with her then we'll have the access to hunt her down it after two days she hasn't played by the rule.” Dom explains.
“I ain't risking my son!” Dad is indignant
“Dad, do this not only for me but for Chrissy and your wife. She's carrying your child, remembers? It would affect her—it’s affecting her, you can tell!”
“Promise me that you'll be fine, Dayle? I don't want to lose you!”
“You won't!”

Dom and the other men escorting me to meet with Freya, there's a lot of things I need to ask her. I need to find out for myself if she's worth being my mother or not. I want to know why Dad is so hesitant about her.
When Dom talks with the woman, we wait in the car in a secluded vicinity that I've never been to. There are no buildings or constructions except for the plain lands.
“Fuck, where the hell is this place though!” I ask Dom offhandedly, he chuckles.
“Such a rich boy, what's the business between luxury and plain lands?!” he teases. “Everything is set Dayle, You're not alone you remember that. We are all following you. As soon as we get Chrissy, you're next. Remember everything that we have discussed—she is obsessed with you and so she would do anything you want. Take advantage of that to come into an agreement!”
“Of course. After 24 hours just come to get me, alright?!” I snap with a bit of a scare.
“What happened to 48 hours, kiddo?!” he teases, we crack a little.
Two cars pull over in from of us. Dom tells me to remain while he steps out with Bobby, they are holding guns too. They exchange words with the other men and that's when I see Chrissy. She's blindfolded and bound by a rope. Dom’s men step out surrounding the area with guns and the same happens to the opposite.
My heart starts thumping faster than it had been, I just want to grab her once and for all. Bobby comes to my side of the car. I step out respectively.
I walk over to Dom first. He signals with his eye that he's got everything under control. I believe him. He's more like an undercover spy/S.W.A.T. I trust him. Bobby walks over to them to get Chrissy while a strange man comes to get me.
“Don’t fucking touch me!” I scowl at the masked men. They are silent like zombies. Dom motions with my eyes to remain calm again.
Dom takes Chrissy away while I'm taken away in their van. My face gets blindfolded instantly leaving me blank to my fate.
“I want to speak with Freya right now! Who blinds their son—”
“Remain silent!” one man says and never says a word again.
