Chapter 59
***Chrissy***

“Let's go home!” they both tell me at once with a frown designed on their faces. I stare at them both, what's wrong with Egan? He yells at me too much once it's about Dayle and Dayle does likewise.
Egan has attempted to hit Dayle when he asked why he was raising his voice at me but I interfered—at least I didn't get knocked down in the process.
“What's all these about? A competition?” Egan blurts out offhandedly
Dayle smirks but I see the rage inside his eyes, he longs to get physical with Egan but I'm the reason he's holding on. “A competition? You're nothing better than a boyfriend, don't forget!” Dayle lets out
“Yeah? At least I don't have to lust over—” Egan starts talking but he stops in the process. I'm beginning to get fed up with all of these madness. He draws closer to me innocently, as if he hasn't tried to start a fight.
“Baby, I'm sorry okay. I'll take you home—I’ll explain everything on our way!” Egan says pleadingly. Dayle remains silent, he looks pissed and angry. I'm pissed off too.
“I'll go with Dayle! Not you this time!” I enter the car before Dayle catches up with me. He says nothing to Egan, but the eye contact is deadly and alarming. I don't like where all these shit is going, it doesn't say well.
Five minutes later, Dayle asks me if I want to eat out or do something before getting home and I just tell him no.
“I'm fine!” I add coldly
“Why was he talking to you in such a manner? What happened?”
“We were just talking—”
“About what? I want to know? He has no fucking right—” he starts to flare up like an exhaust from a damaged car.
“STOP!” I tell him. “Just stop please, it's not making sense. I'll handle it!” I tell him right away
“Do you promise?” he asks me calmly, he's using my words against me now which causes me to smile a little.
“I promise.” I snap. “I don’t like the fact that you both are thirsty to hit each other, it's killing me. Sometimes I feel like I'm the cause, ever since—”
Dayle cuts me. “Ever since you came into the house, I've been happy! You've made me realize a lot... Egan and I are just starting to know the shit we are made off, I mean, he was never like this until he realized that things are not going to be the same anymore. We'll fix it!” his words sink down into my mind, it's satisfying to know that he's reasoning the whole feud but I don't understand why Egan is acting up really strange. What is really wrong with him?
“What's on your mind?” he asks me, is he reading my mind now? I swallow up the lump in my throat, I have to ask about that TICK OFF to gather the facts. I'm so lost.
“Er... What do you know about the ‘TICK OFF’ thing?”
His face squeezes a bit. “Egan told you that?”
“Not really... He just mentioned it like...” I stop hoping that I'm not saying too much. “I mean, I just want to know the context. It could be the reason why he's mad, there has to be a reason.” I tell him
“You are smart!” he says under his breath and remains silent. I'm waiting on his reply but then he says nothing.
“Should I be bothered?” I ask
“Not at all. I don't know why Egan is acting off these days but I'll do my best to fix us. Maybe he's mad at me over something.” He says to me and I'm yet to gather the pieces, I'm hooked. Something is not right.
“I missed you!” he tells me splitting his gaze between the road and me. One of his hands is on the steering and the other on my thigh. He's caressing it gently. That act alone sends chills down my spine resulting to goosebumps. I can't let him always have the moment, I'm still crazy over his relationship with Molly. It's so hard to digest.
“Congratulations Dayle, you didn't tell me about your new GIRL!” I tell him. He zones out from his thoughts and he takes off his hand like he's been chased. I know that I hit something.
“Molly and I are just... It's not even that real—” he tries to explain out of frustration.
“Honestly, I love your defense mechanism. You both look good together! And don't try to explain because you are far from telling the truth. Plus, I wouldn't be hanging out with you by sundown—” he cuts me short with a frown
“Egan?”
“Someone different this time. It's Molly. We are going to celebrate your new relationship, we intend to drink so much alcohol in that regard. I'm so excited for you Dayle, you're just a selfish asshole.” I tell him while he freezes with silence. He takes a turn that leads to the house.
“Chriss, let me explain—”
“No way. I already figured it out but you didn't. You even had the guts to ask me to breakup with Egan, that's SO selfish.” I add angrily.
We enter the premises, he pulls over at the parking space. I step out of the car while he calls out my name. No way, I will not hear his shit this time. I enter the living room, Dom is discussing with someone I don't recognize. It's a She. I'm not so sure I've seen her before.
“Hi, Dom! Hi, Ma’am!” I holler at the woman too and they wave at me.
“Chriss!” I hear Dayle calling out, he attempts to walk past but Dom interrupts.
“We are not invisible, sir!”
“My bad! Hi, Dom. Ms. Clarrisa...”
I ascend the stairs until I enter my room, slamming the door. I had to make him go through all of that because of the things he does too. We should be even.
I hear a bang on my door, Dayle must be out of his mind.
I open up after a few seconds, he slams the door behind him.
“You are something else I fucking swear on my life, I had to run all the way here.” he pants a bit and I chuckle instead. I'm unable to keep up with my plan of being that mad and firm. He comes up to me and kisses my lips, but before I start losing myself I push him away. He graces me with a smile and then he lands on the sofa.
“Someone might see!” I snap taking off my blazer. He's laying wantonly on the sofa, he's very comfortable—well, it has been his house and so I don't see a problem with that.
“I'm gonna explain everything to you after your time out with your girls—after celebrating me.” he teases, I don't appreciate his cockiness and he knows. “I'll come to pick you up, in hope that you'd be drunk as fuck!” he lazily rises to leave, walking up to me he then steals a swift kiss, leaving behind his signature smile.
“Fuck you!” I point my fingers at him
“I'd gladly want that!”
He proudly walks away. This guy is the death of me, I'm literally not myself when he's here with me. He's just a place to be at no matter what.
I get a text from Egan.
*Can we at least talk?*
I expected that but it sucks. I can't have him say shit and apologize for the nth time, he's becoming impossible to understand. It's either we talk about us or we take a break. I discuss in my head but refuse to text him back. I'm not ready for it just yet.
Earlier, he was mad that I ran after Dayle after the incident at the cafeteria, and that I wasn't supposed to. I tried to explain things to him but the guy keeps flaring up like I'm the cause of things not working out for them. I went after Dayle for a reason, Egan was wrong—I see the way he's been troubling Dayle to retaliate but Dayle keeps holding back. I'm shocked. Egan used to be the reasonable one but now he's no longer the same, the he's changing...
My phone chimes, snapping me out of my thoughts. It's Ken, fuck, I have the whole world to explain things to him. He hates to miss out on things that concerns me. He's the best person I could run to for advises, he would not side with me or the other party as far as the truth is standing. He's always my therapist. I head to the washroom, the tub is where I want to be for some time.
“Hi Ken, did you miss me?”
“More than heaven knows!” he teases and we crack up at once. “What's up with Egan, Elle told me everything and so I thought that the horse’s mouth would be a lot more better. Start talking ma'am...”
I start to narrate the whole story from when and how it started.
