Chapter 95
**Dayle**
~
Rowdy. Crazy. Confused. Best describes Hemsville High School at the moment. There's been a series of questions and conclusions drawn by almost everyone. Egan and Steve aren't anywhere close to me and it doesn't prick me even if it hurts me. Does it make a difference? I don't know. I have a few things to deal with, Prom is near and so I have to assist in putting things in order, plus, Principal Morgan is delighted to see me regardless.
Overseeing the preparations and decors in the hall designated for prom, a text message enters my cell phone. I take a glance at it, it's Chrissy. I move away from the small busy assemblage to text her back. Hers reads:
*Spoken to E and Stevie???*
I reply back.
*Not yet! They don't wanna see me either!*
*I sure will, in a bit! Have you?*
I see the dots that signifies she's typing.
*I'm about to! Wish me luck, hun!*
I love the sound of the end part better, I flush inside.
*It's all yours, baby!*
*Text me how it goes! Kisses!*
I text her.
I head back to the others, the constant low mutterings coming from a part of them is unheard of to me, it's about what Chrissy had told me. The rumors about us seeing each other, the strange concurrent illness from the both of us and the separation of our trio.
“Hi, Dayle!” I hear someone refer to me from behind. I turn to see whom, it is Amber but Lauren, Shauna, Cindy and Jess are standing and crossing arms. They look like they are prepared for war. Damn, I should have included things as such to play out.
“Take five everyone, what do y'all think?!”
“Great!” some respond as they collectively exit the hall. I turn to the angry girls.
“What's this... about?” I ask nonchalantly, it escaped my mouth. They snicker.
“What this is about?” Lauren looks at her colleagues and turn back to me. “Aren't you ashamed?” she scowls at me, I bite my lower lip—I can't escape them, I can't also escape Jess who's now recording. Fuck, I hate Hemsville right now.
“After everything you did to us, you couldn't even make a public apology?” Cindy says but does she know how stupid she sounds right now? Well, I've been going through a lot lately and all I have to do is brace up.
“Apologize for what? Sex?” I scoff, “Who apologizes for sex—steamy one at that?” I ask and they remain silent, maybe they are embarrassed. “YOU all can tell that WE had fun—excess fun. WE all loved what we had—”
“Wow Dayle, how shameless of you! I didn't know that if you wanted to fuck any of us then you would have to make a list... That's absurdly conventional, I mean are you not the famous Player and fuck boy in Hemsville? You don't need a list, do you?” Amber snaps mockingly at me. This is not getting any better and I have to watch my tone but the urge to say shit to them peaks my interest.
“The same player and fuck boy you knew and couldn’t stop sucking and riding his dick! Do you remember the dick and skills we talked about?! Yeah. That's right!” I tell her and she frowns.
“You know I used to think that you were really sensible but hell no Dayle, you such a loser!” Shauna says, “How could you do this to us? Yes, we admit that we had fun but did you have to really push the limits? You know, I get the point Molly has been making overtime. How's she coping with a dickhead like you?” she adds.
“And worse off, I thought that you were better than Caesar but it's clear to me now. You are one hungry ass bitch who got exposed! Dirty boy pres!” Cindy adds angrily.
“Since it's all bizarre to you once it's about us, how do you feel about Chriss? Did you get to fuck her or not? How do you think that she'd feel over what you did? I mean she is now your sister!” Lauren asks and that hits me harder, she would feel bad over it. She already feeling bad. I just realized that the fuck list wasn't necessary., I instantly give a thought. I have to retain my position and to also be the best version. They start walking off.
“Wait!” they all halt and once again, Jess continues to record. She hasn't said a word because we didn't really do anything serious but why must she record?
“I'm sorry...”
“Wait, what?” Amber asks under her breath, I read her lips. They don't believe that I'm apologizing perhaps it is because it contradicts the earlier statement I made.
“Yeah. I'm sorry. All of you and any girl out there that I hurt. I still don't regret that we had FUN and there wasn't any form of impulse but I just realized that the fuck list was uncalled for—it was demeaning of me to have done that to all of you. I was wrong and I regret. Lauren, Amber, Shauna, Cindy, Jess and Chrissy… I’m so sorry about everything. It won't happen again, I hope you all forgive me anyway?!” I tell them and they remain silent.
“See you all at Prom, hotties!” I add
“See you... too, sexgod!” Amber says to me with a smile. I return the exact smile before all of them head out of the hall. Well, I did what I thought was best. They are supposed to be here running the whole preps, they should be here. Did the vendetta end or not?
*
Few hours whisks away,
I’ve texted Steve and Egan to meet with me at the staff area where students don't usually flood or parade. I'm yet to receive their replies but then I will wait for a couple of minutes to see if they would show up and if they don't—I’ll leave, whatever they hear from a third party would not be my fault.
Five minutes gone and no one is here. Damn. I'll wait a little more to overcome my impatience. Pacing back and front, I sight Steve coming forth almost scurrying and then I halt.
“Hey, my man!” I holler
“Hey, D!” he hollers back at me as we shake hands in swagger.
“Seen Egan?” I ask him and he looks around with a doubtful look.
“Nah!” he snaps pulling out his cell phone to perhaps dial Steve. As soon he puts his cell to his ear—we both sight Egan. “Jerk is here!” he snaps with a sigh of relief.
We exchange swift handshakes and their eyes are fixated on me—of course, I opted the gathering anyway.
“I have something very important to tell you all—”
“Are we gonna get mad again, perhaps a scandal like that?” Steve asks curiously
“Yes, you are gonna get mad but it's not a kinda scandal, it's just... something unusual.” I explain but he way Egan is staring at me eats me up. Most times, I wish that he was more open minded than a silent wrecker attitude he encloses.
“First off, we've been on a very dubious path that got us into some shits and all. I used to think that Steve was wrong for leaking the list but you were right the wrong way!”
Steve scoffs rolling his eyes while Egan tilts his brows in response to what I said.
“I'm... I'm sorry for whatever that I may have done that irks you,” my gaze shifts to Egan, he's gazing at me with a blank stare.
“Okay, I don't wanna be the weird one but Dayle, what has gotten over you though?! Why are you so thoughtful, you don't fucking apologize, remember!” Steve says
“But I'm apologizing now, ain't I?” I snap almost pissed, I know that he's right but he doesn't have to spell it out.
“Okay!” he surrenders with his hands hanging for a second.
“Honestly, why are we here? I got a thousand and one things to do!” he snaps angrily
“Do we have a personal problem? Egan?” I ask him directly but he looks away, he's pissed off.
“Just say the damn thing, alright?” he scowls at me again.
“Last time I checked, I got you sorted out and where’s the coming from? Don't fucking get on my nerves, bro!” I warn him
“This is why I hate times we come around, we are better off without each other, honestly!” Steve adds angrily.
“Great!” I snap, I'm super pissed off right now. “Chrissy and I are seeing each other—like we are in love with each other! Just thought that y’all should know before someone breaks it to you!” I pause. Their expressions change, they are perplexed and stupefied. I know that it wasn't going to be easy anyway. I hear Egan laugh out hysterically.
“I did tell you Steve, did you believe me?!” he asks Steve with a prouder snicker. “This deuce bag is in love with his sister, how's that?” he scowls yelling then he turns to me. “You are such an animal Dayle, how could you do that to your sister? I was fucking right the whole time, you competed with me—you took her away from me! You know that I love so much and so you manipulated her into loving you!” he raises his voice, this asshole wouldn't understand one thing. He's reading it all wrong. Egan starts ruffling his hair ferociously
“Dayle tell me this is not true, tell me that the fucking rumors are wrong—they ain't true!” Steve raises his voice at me too.
“Ever since, you've always been the sneaky one, not me!” Egan pushes me a bit but then prompting to do my worse. “I thought that I was more messed up but c’mon now, you are the bigger dickhead. A scumbag. A fucking asshole!” Egan adds while I try to keep my composure.
“You ain't saying a word, no defense like you always do?” Steve asks mockingly.
“He wouldn't!” Egan snaps
“She is not even my sister—”
“You sound so fucking dumb, Dayle, we are not kindergarteners!” says Steve “For how long has this been going on? Since three years earlier? Did you rape her ‘cause she couldn't do this on her own. For how long?” he scoffs. “I swear to God this is fucking disgusting and unbelievable man! Why are you even telling us this shit?” Steve asks then looks away.
“He's probably been fucking her when they got strangely sick! A bunch of perverts!” Egan snaps mockingly
“Dayle, I'm fucking disappointed at you okay? I'm not excited and I don't think I wanna be your friend anymore! We've never been good together. Honest!” Steve walks away and Egan turns to me.
“Friend to a traitor! I was right about that name. I can’t wait to see you suffer the repercussions... Fucking dickhead!” he pushes me again before he walks off.
The one reason why I haven't punched Egan to death is because I have to be more mature and of course, I can't risk my privileges over empty talks. They all drew conclusions because they have no idea what's up. I'll let things play out naturally.
I have to find Chrissy, I don’t want Egan walking up to her and spitting shit to her face—I’m gonna lose my mind.
