Chapter 63
***Chrissy***
~
The words escaped my mouth without realizing, it has been on my mind. I know that I had messed up and I intend to make things right but I don't know how to fix them as they were before. I can't fall asleep because of Dayle, I'm so horny and sorry. How sensible it that? It's how I feel, I almost undressed without his efforts. I wronged him and everyone, especially him. He saved me from that riffraff hours earlier. Fuck! My hands rub my face from top to bottom. I feel like a mess.

My phone vibrates nonstop, I roll over to get it from the frame next to my bed. It's Molly. In as much as I don't want to take her calls, I'm not so good at ignoring her still. What's wrong with me? I slide and answer.
“Hey girl!” I hear myself sound extraordinarily low.
“Oh my gosh girl, I'm so sorry about last night. I just realized that Tequila is a bitch—oh Vodka too... I feel so horrible—”
“Chill out Molly, I can't grasp all at once!” I interrupt calmly. I hear her giggle in the background.
“It's quarter to 9, where’s your ass at?” she asks and that's when I look up realizing that it's almost 9 o'clock. Fuck. How did I over sleep? Dayle couldn't wake me up, right, he's extremely angry at me. I step out of bed hastily running to the washroom.
“Fuck, Molly, I fucking overslept... Actually I feel sick as hell right now. I'm just gonna call you back in an hour time. Yeah?!”
“It's fine baby girl, just keep me posted! Love you!” she says and hangs up instantly.
Despite the hastiness, I couldn't make it past taking a warm shower. I feel unevenly strong. A knock interrupts after I'm done dressing up—in a mini floral dress, it's dotted red and black.
I walk to the door and open it. It's a someone I'm not actually familiar with but she's a house keeper as well. Where's Nina anyway?!
“Good morning ma'am—“
“Sorry, you are?” I inquire of her and she smiles coyly before responding.
“I’m Brenda, I’m filling in for Ms. Nina—“ she explains but I instantly interrupt again. It was pointless to ask questions but not completely.
“Oh, I understand.” I smile faintly.
“Okay ma'am. Please come down to have breakfast or would you rather have it here?” she asks
“Oh no, I'll be down in a minute. Is Dom home?” I ask, I should see him before I lose sight of him.
“He’ll be leaving within the next five to ten minutes.” she explains and my eyes widely open.
“Okay, thanks.”
I run past her descending the stairs as fast I can, I can't find him anywhere close. The securities aren't even close. I head out of the building and I see Dom dismissing the hefty security men, he's approaching the black Mercedes Benz that's last year’s model and I don't waste any more time but run to him.
Two men try to hold me back but Dom instructs them to stop.
“Y’all don't wanna hold the boss's daughter in that manner!” he adds and they mumble their apologies. Fuck. Did they think that I was going to runaway or what? There's no way I could plan an escape with these huge men dispersed around the mansion even if I wanted to try. Dom comes to me adjusting his black necktie that's over the white inner shirt.
“Hi Chrissy,”
“Good morning sir, I'm very sorry about last night. I acted irresponsible. I did wrong and I promise that it wouldn't happen again.” I tell him but his hardened doesn't shrink with a soft one. It's still firm.
“Yes, you were irresponsible to have gotten drunk. Your parents dislike the misuse of Alcohol and so you should drink responsibly. It could have been different if something bad had happened. Good thing that your brother came through as soon as possible.” he plants his hands on my shoulder, I look like a baby in front of this giant. “We all care about you and your safety cones first. All these men are here to protect you and so, you should comply. You are not allowed to go out of the mansion, can you comply?” he asks nicely but that's a cool way of telling me that I'm grounded for the entire day which is fair enough.
“Yes sir, I can.”
“Good! It should be the last time! The doctor would be here in twenty minutes—I’ve discussed with your principal over your health. You're excused. And Dayle would do the rest.” he adds. “Rest for the day nerd, I know that you can't do without studying but today has got to be a little bit different.” he teases as we both smile. His smile doesn't last more than a minute.
“Of course, thank you sir! Er... Where are you headed? If you don't mind!” I ask before attempting to leave.
“The industry! There's a lot to deal with and so I'd be returning towards evening—i can't decide right now! Go in and take a rest, if you need anything, you should contact Bobby!” he motions with his eyes for me to take a look at who Bobby is.
He's one of the men that tried to stop me earlier, now I understand the whole thing. I must say, I'm a stranger to this new life, it's quite different. Every privilege seems like a favor. I turn back to him with an affirmative smile.
“Got that!”
“Alright Chrissy, please take good care of yourself. Dayle would return soon to keep you company—I know that the mansion is too large and lonely. Bear with it in good fate!”
“Sure, sir! Have a good day!”
“Likewise!” he says turning to the car, the chauffeur opens the door for him as his phone starts to chime. He must preside a big office to have been treated like a boss. Ge literally runs the mansion with our parents present and he does his job perfectly.

Hours pass by, I'm seeing a Netflix movie in the movie room. Dom showed it to me days ago, they don't use the living room to see movies often because of the need to keep order, but the movie room has got everything you need to have a palatable experience. I lay on my side on the couch eating from the bowl of popcorn. I'm seeing the movie titled ‘After We Collided’. I'm picturing Dayle and I in almost every scenery which makes me wonder why Egan hadn't tried to reach me. Is he still mad at me? I ponder. It seems like the boys that are dear to me are angry at me for one reason or the other. It's partly my fault only in the case of Dayle and I and not Egan’s. Maybe he wants space. His concurrent actions doesn't justify the situation, there's something on his mind and he won't say it out. I feel like I'm the reason—or it has something to do with me.
Ping!!!
My phone alerts me, I take it up. It's a text from Dayle.
*I can't think straight. I miss you more than I know!*
A smile settles on my lips, I'm blushing over the text. I stare at my cellphone and read it over and over again.
*You left without a word! It hurts badly!*
I hit send but he doesn't reply back. I look over my phone every ten minutes but there isn't a response. It kills me more. How could he raise my hopes and let it cease?
*
I feel a touch on my face, it's tender and careful but I have no idea. No one had the right to touch me. The securities and other workers do not have such subpoena to do so.
My lids flicker. A short soft kiss engulfs my lips before I'm able to see whom but then I recognize the pair of lips—the same pair that didn't let me sleep last night. The same pair that raises my hopes and lets it die, it's Dayle’s. Fuck!
“Chriss?”
It was all an imagination or a dream, he didn't kiss me or touch. I felt someone’s presence, a plunging gaze that pricks my skin. He's standing over me, he helps me up but he isn't smiling.
How stupid was I to picture such a thing as that.
“I uh... I didn't know that you had returned—”
“I was here for roughly three minutes.” he snaps with a bit of an attitude. “I'll just let Egan know that he can come through!” he walks to the door without looking at me.
“Dayle, are you... still mad at me?” I ask him rising to my feet. He stops but says nothing to me. It keeps me wondering if it had been the same person that had texted me—an overwhelming text at that.
“I'll let him know that he can come to see you. Chrissy.” he adds before leaving.
I hear distant chatters from the guys before Egan enters the room.
His set of snowy teeth makes me guilty. I neglected him too much, he didn't deserve the silence and everything involved. He wraps me tightly, I miss Egan but us it enough to justify my silence towards him too?
“I got so worried after Dayle told me about your health. How do you feel, baby?” he asks placing his hand on my forehead.
“Oh I'm... I'm better now. Slight fever but I'm better now! See!” I tell him with a smile and he hugs me again before he kisses my lips affectionately.
“I miss you so much Chriss, I don't know what I would do without you!” Egan tells me as we hug again, I feel so guilty and yes, I miss him too.
There you have Dayle staring at us—me, he's standing by the door with his arms crossed over his rolled up sleeves. He's giving me a deep stare that is affecting me negatively. Dayle clears his throat to distract us.
