Chapter 9

Merigold
The boys kneel in the bar stools drinking their root beers. Viper walks up to me. I decided to start calling him that out of respect for him. " So did you have a good look around?" " I did, yes. The place is huge. And I like that you have one kid-friendly section." " Momma didn't want go playroom." Jace laughs. Viper looks at me with his eyebrow raised " Why is that?" Lug Nut starts cracking up from behind me. Viper looks at him then back to me.
I pinch the bridge of my nose, take a deep breath then tell the boys `` Boys radio silence." They automatically cover their ears and hum to themselves. " All Lug Nut said was that he wanted to show me the playroom. I see a club of guys and I know you have the club bunnies around. I just wanted to make sure we weren't walking into a sex dungeon with whips, chains, leather straps, handcuffs, and whatnot. I really didn't want to have to explain that to the boys. So I told him we could skip that room" At least three guys spit out their drinks and Lug Nut is bent over laughing.
Viper has his eyes closed and is grinding his teeth " First I would never allow you or the boys into a room like that if we had one. And second I Never Ever want to hear the words whips and chains come out of your mouth again. I don't even want to know how you know those words." I try to suppress a laugh which I'm doing better than Lug Nut. " Got it. I can only say leather straps and handcuffs." At that Lug Nut loses it. Viper growls and yells “ Prospect out.” Still laughing, Lug Nut says " See you around Merigold." I give a small wave. I tap the boys on the shoulder twice. They drop their hands " Radio silence clear."
" I want to know what you think of the place in a minute. But first I want you to explain what you just did." Viper says. For a second I'm not sure what he is talking about " You mean radio silence thing?" He nods and I notice all the guys are looking at me. " When the boys can't leave the room for adults to talk we can put them in radio silence. They cover their ears and softly hum to themselves. Two taps on the shoulder and radio silence clear let them know they can listen again.” " Boys go blind," I say. Everyone watches the boys cover their eyes without hesitation. I tap their shoulders three times " Visual clear" and they drop their hands.
" Three taps for visuals," I say. " Impressive." Viper says. " That causes us, soldiers!" Jax says beaming with pride. " Yes, you are buddy," I say. "Now I want to know what do you think about the clubhouse?" Viper asks. It is almost like he is nervous. " I like it. Going to take some getting used to. But I was wondering why I didn't see the sign." I say. " What sign?" Viper asks. I step on the back of Tank's barstool and hold on to his shoulders. " May I, big guy?" " Sure," he says clearly, having no idea what I’m doing. I answer Viper " The sign that says I have to be this tall to join." and hold my hand over the top of Tank's head.
Ace starts cracking up and the rest follow " She has her father's sense of humor." Viper just shakes his head but I can tell he is laughing too. They get in control when Jax asks " Unka Viper if these you brothers do that mean they are unkas too?" Tank answers " Sure it does, little buddy." The boys start bouncing in their seats " Yea. More unkas." They say. That starts another round of laughing.
