War amongst them

I open my eyes, groaning in pain, slowly and painfully I move my body in the other direction to find Alejandro's cell empty, dread fills my body, chills run down my skin, I panic, trying to desperately look for my mate but his scent was light, he had been long gone, my hands shivered with the thought of something bad happening to him, and knowing the place we were in it was highly possible.

"Somebody, hey, is someone here?" I scream pulling myself up to hold the bars of the cell to scream for recognition. holding the bars hurt due to the wolfsbane coating on them but getting out of her was my priority even if it's the last thing I do.

"Shut the fuck up" yelled an angry annoying voice followed by the blurry body of the rogue, his rotten smell made me want to puke, and he strode towards me with a pissed-off expression.

I hold out my arms and grab his collar, pulling him closer to the cell, and growl in his face furiously "Where is he? where did you take him?" the pressure on his neck depended on how fast he would answer, I held his neck tighter cutting off his blood circulation.

he struggles in my hold, trying extremely hard not to surrender to my command, he snaps himself out of the trance and pulls away glaring at me with pure distaste.

"Alpha is taking care of Princess, don't you worry about it," he smirks but my fist flies to his face and he is knocked out. I hold my wrist shaking off the disgusting blood, for someone that big he was very easy to knock off.

I feel replenished as though my strength was back in my body, I growl before trying to pull the lock apart but failed, maybe my strength was not completely back, I sigh Leaning down to pull the rogue towards me and look for the keys in his pockets, seemingly luck was on my side and I found the keys while doing so I try to reconnect with my pack or at least my beta but no avail, I can't believe this is happening to us, but never mind, no matter what I come across today I won't let it drag me down, I must find my mate and put an end to this Claudius madness.

wincing in pain I pull the door open and sneak out of the cell, limping and holding my sides I semi run towards the voices, trying to be as silent as possible I make my way out of the dungeon, I found stairs leading upwards, I try to concentrate, looking for any heartbeat or scent on the other side of the door, there was only one heartbeat so I made my way up, slowly I walk behind the rogue and as he smelt me closer to him, I snap his neck, I grab his jacket and pull it on me so it can hide my scent at least for a while, moving forward I try to catch a hit of his scent so I know he was ok.

just the thought of any harm on his makes my insides turn with anguish, I growl lowly and walk faster towards the rotten scent of the rogues, the minimum number of rogues in here makes me think if they were somewhere else, I walk faster and end up out of the warehouse, I try to find my other team members but their scent was washed away, the muddy scent indicated there was heavy rain in this part of the forest.

I beat up four more rogues on my way, one of them managed to break at least two of my ribs but the blood on my hands says I made it out better than they did, my bones screamed in agony but my heart demanded justice, as I could do was follow my heart because that's the right thing to do.

then I heard it, the screams after screams, echoing all around us. I sprint as fast as I could in my condition, the blood pool around my leg and dripping down my arm, I made it out to the clearing and found rogues forming a huge group standing and watching, the smell of blood came from the center of the crowd, my heart thumps with panic when the familiar scent hit my nose. I try to move closer undetected.

that's when I see something that made me scared as well as proud at the same time, Alejandro was in a fight with someone double his size and was winning, I look around and see Claudius watching the fight between them with interest and amusement.

my breath hitches when the opponent kicks Alejandro in the stomach, he hunches over and that's when the other guy gets the upper hand and elbows, him in the back, and when he was about to snap his neck, I couldn't control myself and run to him, I scream at the rogue and shift midway, the transformation didn't happen because of the stupid witch, he started mumbling something and I felt my body shift back to my human self, I whimper in pain as my body hit the ground with a thud, blood pooled in mouth and I throw it up.

Alejandro moved towards me and his eyes widen with fear I have never seen in his eyes before, he grabs my hand and moves closer to me, " what the hell are you doing here?" he yelled looking at the rogues that were watching us, I don't let it affect me, and pull him closer, I bury my face in his chest and take a huge breath filling my lungs with his woody scent, my wolf jumps with joy feeling it's mate, I let my hands feel his skin, enquiring about the damage that was done to him.

I feel blood on my palm as I glide my hand on his back, he growls when he noticed the blood on my stomach.

"Wow, what a wonderful scene, right Craig?" Claudius awed looking at his watch, whose face was stone cold. he didn't look at Claudius but nodded his head, we made eye contact, his eyes were dead, there was nothing there.

"now, what should we do with the baby Alpha? hmm? should we make him face a challenge too?" Claudius asks his rogues mockingly, Alejandro growls furiously, his chest vibrated with the strength in his voice.

I pull away from him and stand up, I won't let him boss me around. Alejandro stands next to me, we stand together against him, but he didn't lose his amused expression.

we growl together when the rogues run towards us, we wait for them to reach us, and then we shift, then it was a blood bath.

we killed every rogue that dared cross us, but what amazed me was how we were able to hold our wolf form with the witch present, and then I see it. All the opponents of the crown tournament were here, I felt relieved when I see both our betas taking care of the witch and his master, but Claudius was a monster, he shifted into his beast and I have never seen a wolf this hideous, he growled snapping at the alpha wolves.

I glance at Alejandro and his wolf made a mad dash towards Claudius, the aura around him spoke a million emotions, and the most heightened one was hatred.

I try to follow him but a bunch of wolves attacks me, rogue bites down my injured leg snapping it out, I howl in pain at the broken limb but the rogue is thrown away by my beta, I nod at him and we continue killing the rogues in our way, all the other alphas help us too.

"What happened?" I asked Josh in our mind link, he whimpered in pain as the thought hurt him more than what had happened.

"Sorin..." he stammered

I managed to cover for him when he couldn't continue, I look around trying to find Sorin but I couldn't see him.

"Sorin, what?" I asked growling at the rogue that just won't die.

he whimpered, "we were tortured until every Alpha had at least one broken limb, all of this is done by Sorin's mate" I stand there shocked not knowing how to react, I mean, I knew everyone has mates but knowing a scary guy like Sorin having a mate and that mate tortured other alphas and betas is quite unbelievable, and also I didn't know they were this close to feeling each other's despair.

being tortured was not the reason for Josh's misery, it was the fact that it was done by a mate to his mate.

"why? who is it?" I ask ripping the flesh of the rogue with my fangs, blood poured out of that disgusting thing, he was dead within seconds.

he didn't say anything, I asked him again, and then finally, he gestured with his snot towards the other side of the clearing

I turn my wolf head in that direction and now I know why he felt bad for Sorin.
