Alejandro and I ran back to the little witch's cottage having no else to go, we couldn't go back to the castle or my house because who knows what will be waiting for us there, I couldn't reach Josh again and that was a bigger problem.

"Hmm, Newly mates Alphas, you both cause quite a ruckus last night," The witch was sitting in the living room sipping tea as we entered fully clothed, we hid our clothes on a tree nearby.

"What do you mean?" I asked sitting down in front of her on the couch but Alejandro stared her down with curiosity and caution. "She is the witch that helped me save you, although I still don't know her name, I'm still grateful," I said smiling at him.

She scoffed while placing her teacup down on the coffee table, her elegance was a noticeable difference between all the royal family women I have met, and her posture and attitude spell a different time.

"I'm sorry for the late introduction, My name is Cassandra Rosalie Rivers, my heritage comes from a long line of white witches although I'm the last one." she stood up from her seat and walked to Alejandro, she bowed gracefully to him "I'm honored to be at your assistance your Highness and I'm also here for the horrid things you had to go through due to our ancestors, as the guilt-ridden person I would like to offer you my assistance " she voice was clear and the promise in her words was ascertained

He nodded back at her "I'm thankful that you helped my mate and me but I can't trust you, forgive me for being straightforward, but I have been betrayed too many times by people like you, but it would be nice to have you help us get back to my kingdom, "

I watch them interact with interest because this was the first time I see him being the king he was supposed to be for a very long time ago.

"I'm afraid it's a bit dangerous to go back now because I have seen and felt the darkness that mage carries and his thirst for power keep growing, he won't let you off that easily, " She warned him.

"Is there a way I can reach my Beta? he might have something on Craig, that can help us defeat him, I tried connecting to him but I can't due to the distance between us," I ask her as the both of them sit down.

"You mean him?" she snapped her fingers and Josh appeared next to the door, he looked shocked as was I, he looked around him and spotted us sitting peacefully on the couch. "I felt you would need him, he has been trying to reach you for a while now,"

"What the hell just happened?" he asked then looked at Alejandro beside me, awake and well, "Ok, what did I miss?" he smiled before walking towards me and pulling him in a hug. "I'm so happy that you are not dead or eaten by wild animals," Alejandro growls at him in a warning.

"I'm glad you are back to your senses as well, " he hugged Alejandro next but Alejandro pushed him off. "Charming as always, wow, I can't believe you fucked in between all of this mess," this guy seriously had no filter.

I kick him on his shin and shut him up, " Did you do what I had asked you to? " he nods his head.

"Yeah, right the Mage history, he pulled out his phone and browsed in, " I couldn't find the whole book but I found a few pages of some book called Runes, it has like a crazy amount of information about the mage kind," he showed me his phone and true enough, the few pages he was able to collect had information about their origin.

"Is this the book you're looking for?" Cassandra's voice startled Josh to the point where he almost dropped the phone.

"What the hell is she doing here?" he asked her getting into a cautious stance just noticing her presence, I regret having such an absentminded beta and best friend.

"My name is Cassandra Rosalie Rivers, I'm a white witch, I mean no harm," she held a huge wooden book in her arms and offered it to Josh.

"it's ok, she is on our side," I said taking the book from her hands because he was still wary of her.

I opened the book and everything in the book was handwritten, the pictures in the book said the story of the beginning of the mage race and how they came into being, their powers, and how they were brutally murdered due to their greed for a higher power.

Most of the Mages got their powers from sacrifices and blood oaths, they prayed to Satan and were always trying to bring him on earth to unleash his wrath. Mages we're crazy enough to continue to do it as many chances they got.

"Has anyone ever been successful in completing the sacrifice and summoning the devil?" I asked looking at the image of satan on the thick pale pages, he was standing on top of a pile of bodies with his arms out like he had to conquer the world.

"Once, but it didn't last long, you see, it's not as easy as they think, one little mistake in the spell and it all goes downhill, there were so many clans of mages but all had suffered the wrath of the devil when they couldn't do it right, he never stepped a foot on earth but all the mages present during the ritual lost their lives due to the wrong sacrifice, " Cassandra explained while turning the pages in the book and stopped at the last page.

All the corpses in the field wore robes, they were laid out in the open all surrounding a huge pit of fire, the inscription on the paper said that this was the last attempt to summon the Devil, remaining Mages lost too much power to try again.

"The last try was a thousand years ago and The last remaining Mage wants to try out their duty and lucky for him he found King Alejandro, there has not been a single creature that possesses this kind of power, he will try again and this time we need to be ready," we heard everything she said and nodded.
