A thorn to the Rose

The sun rays shine brightly on my tired eyes, I groan and turn on my side, my hand moves on it's it own, and the absence of the person next to me startles me awake.

I sit up from my bed and survey the room and find nothing, I sigh and hold the pillow that lay there and sniff it, the familiar scent of the person from last night gave me a sense of calmness. I hold it closer to myself and drown in the memories of last night.

He was so terrified, Alejandro's beast didn't let his human side take control over his body and stayed that way the entire night, the only thing he did was call out to my wolf and cry hugging me tightly. The anger my wolf had for him vanished at the sight of his tears, I gave in and let them be together for the night, I wasn't knocked out like Alejandro, I lingered in the back of my mind and watched them hug each other in comfort. this was my first time watching the most powerful beast in the world so broken and devastated.

He didn't say anything about what was wrong with him, well at least to me, he told my wolf something and my wolf refused to give me the reason. for the first time, my wolf chose to be a mate first than the other part of myself.

I sighed placed the pillow back on the bed and moved to the bathroom to wash up, after a nice shower I grab a small duffle bag and throw in some clothes and pack them up, I walk downstairs and had my breakfast with my family.

They notice the bad aura around me but didn't comment on it, "I have to go to the Castle, turns out it is much more serious this time," I make up an excuse, and they nod understanding that this wasn't something that can be brushed under the rug.

I drive to Josh's home first and honk the horn so loud that it might have scared his old-age neighbors.

he rushed out with a frown on his face and roughly open the door," You could have simply walked in, you know, no need to be such a punk," he sounds irritated.

I raise my eyebrow at him "Punk, seriously? how old are you? 90?" I tease him before pulling out of the driveway

He rolled his eyes at me and asked "What made you change your mind?" he held it in up till now I guess because when I said I wanted to go live in the castle with the others he agreed without any questions, this is the kind of friend he is, he never doubts me or asks questions, he is always there every time I need him.

"Alejandro came to see me last night, " he snapped his head towards me with his eyes wide open in surprise

"Damn, the guy's got guts, did he forget your father tried to kill not very long ago?" he asked laughing

"He sneaked in my bedroom, but that's not the issue here, his beast took over him when my wolf made his presence known, and he showed me something that keeps bothering me," I said seriously.

"Must be the dick, did it shrink after the rejection, I mean you would know since you had it in you," I slam the breaks hard and look at the idiot and keep staring at him

"Bro, what the fuck," I punch him in the stomach and he doubled over. "That's not... what I meant... urgh, you are a fucking moron," I kept cursing and hitting at him and he laughed holding his bruised stomach.

"Ok, ok, if it's not that then what is it?" h asked controlling himself

"I think I was in his head, I don't know how he did it but I was in his head and there was someone else there. he had tied up the real Alejandro and someone else was controlling him, I know it's confusing and messed up but I think there is something seriously wrong with him," I finish explaining myself to him and he looks at my miserable self and nods at me.

"Ok, so let's go save the Princess, I mean it's getting old but let's do it again," he said excitingly clapping his hand. I smile at him and start driving again, this is what I meant when I said, he will always be there for me.

I drive into the King's castle and the security seems happy to see me, they let me in and I park the car among so many other cars, looks like all the students drove their cars, we grab our bags and walk into the grand hall after a security check, the grand hall is where almost all the student were already there, Leon was the first one to notice me and came rushing in.

He hugged me affectionately and I didn't have the heart to push him away from me after everything he has been through because of my crazy mate.

"I thought you weren't going to come, but thank God! you are here, this place is amazing," he dragged to the couch where most of his friends were there. Josh and I smiled at them and spoke for a while before excusing ourselves to go look for a spare room, but on my way there I saw the last person I wanted to see

Rose was walking down the same corridor as me but she was walking towards me, I suppressed a growl when her annoying scent waffles in, she smiled at us politely

"Hello, you must be the students that weren't here yesterday, but don't worry I got your room ready for you, follow me, " she smiled and turned to walk the other way she came from.

I glance at Josh and he looked at her suspiciously. "She is still a rogue," he commented in my head and I nodded at him.

"Oh, how rude of me, My name is Rose Stellar, and I will be the host until your tour expires, if you have any questions about this place or anything in general you can ask me," she turned to face us and smiled again. I was kind of halting the way she smiled innocently.

"Why are you still a rogue," I asked bluntly not holding back, she stops in her way and turned to face me. she kept her gaze on me and sniffed the air, her eyes widen in recollection, and bowed her head in respect.

"I'm sorry Alpha, as a lowly omega rogue I didn't sense your Alpha power, I apologize to you too Beta," she apologized to the both of us with her head down. "As for your question, I don't intend to stay here for much longer so I requested the King to not include me as a pack member," she explained still looking down

"Why take the risk, it's been a year and you are still here," my bluntness might have startled her because she looks at me confused. then her face counters in recognition"You... it's you, you tried to kill me," she held her neck as if she could still feel my teeth in her throat.

"If you find someone else in your mate's room naked, that's the most common reaction, anyone would receive," I said moving past her walking on my own to our designed room.

Her presence annoyed me to the core, I threw my bag in an empty room and walked in the direction of Sorin's room, my nose said Craig might be in there, but Craig's scent was stronger in a different room so I went in there.

I knock and walk into the room and find Craig doing something holding a flask and lots and lots of equipment in a small room that looked like a mini lab.

"Should I ask?" I asked him walking around and looking through his stuff, there were frogs in a jar and different jars filled with eyes, ears, and other organs.

He didn't even glance my way but continued doing his thing, "And what brings you here it's certainly isn't that you missed me," he was being sarcastic.

I lean on the table next to him and sighed "I think there is something wrong with Alejandro," he scoffed putting the flask down

"Obviously," he said picking up some kind of powder that smelt like grease "I haven't known him before but watching Sorin being on guard with him is a big reason that something is indeed wrong with him," he moved around his magic shop freely.

"I want to help him," he scoffs again at my words, his disrespect is something I have gotten used to.

"Of course, you do," I sighed at his sarcastic behavior

"We need to find that witch," which caught his attention and he finally looked at me.

"And now your talking, " he smiled evilly and clapped his hands.
