Unfortunate encounter

"Did you hear the hot news of this week?" Alene asked running towards us filled with excitement

I glance at Josh and he shrugs confused with her behavior we shake our heads negatively, she sighs dramatically, walks between the both of us and winds her arms around Josh and me, and drags us towards the notice board.

I roll my eyes at her childishness, she giggles pointing at the latest note displayed on the board. I glance at where she was pointing and the blood drained out of my system.

There was a pamphlet shuck on the board encompassing the information about the spring festival that takes place every year, but that wasn't the case here, it was the honorable chief guest.

"Can you believe it?" Alene squeaked giddily "Our Alpha king is going to be here, oh, my God! do you know how handsome he is? I think I might faint if I see him in person," she continues yapping about it, but I don't listen, my body froze, flashes of my time with him came crashing down on me.

I couldn't take my eyes off of the board, memories, memories of good, bad, happy, and sab moments we spent together came rushing down to me. reflecting on my mind like some kind of slide show.

Josh pulls my arm a little snapping me out of my daze, I look at him and he shook his head telling me to get a grip on it. No one in this city knew about my history with the King, they hardly knew which pack I came from and I intend to keep it that way.

"Yeah, " Josh laughed with her trying to ease the awkward silence that fell on us when I didn't return her enthusiasm. "Oh, look at the time, we are late for the class let's go," he pushes us discreetly away from the notice board.

The entire day the campus community talked about how they can't miss seeing the alpha King, well except for the humans, of course, they think the grandson of one of the most important people in the country was going to be here.

I was nauseated just with the vibes around me, they knew nothing about him and yet couldn't wait to see him, I felt sick with the thought of seeing him again, the rejection phase was still there, I haven't over it yet.

"You can take the day off, you know, " Josh said sitting on my bed watching me suffocate beneath the mountains of shawls, he pats my butt "I can talk to the dean, just come up with a very convincing excuse," I kick him slowly trying to get his hand off of my butt.

I sat up from my position and glared at him " I don't want to run anymore, I will be fine, I want to attend the event, and im going to show him what he lost, yeah I will show him how happy I am without him in my life, I can do it," I mumble looking at Josh with determination in my eyes.

He watches me with this look at screamed stupid, he wasn't even trying to hide it. "You are an embarrassment. fine do what you got to do, do your thing, and when it fails I will be there recording everything," he grinned at me, lunatic.

"You are a terrible best friend," I kick him off of my bed and he went rolling down falling on his butt. his groan of pain was music to my ears, we bickered all day long, and at the end. ended up watching a movie in the living room.

The event was a week away, I had plenty of time to come up with a solution, I didn't need to do much just stay clear of his way, it's not like I was a refuge or something, I had nothing to hide. he rejected me, it was his loss with that thought in my mind I went to bed.

The week went by in the blink of an eye, and I have yet to decide whether or not to show up at the event.

"So, who's wearing what tomorrow?" Vanya asked as we sat around the table having lunch.

I lost my appetite when the conversation took a turn about tomorrow, all of them began diving into it.

"We are playing football tomorrow so, Jersey. " David said looking at Josh and me. I smile at him tight-lipped then went back to playing with my food.

"Bummer, I thought we would help the booth, our department is hosting a cake smash competition, they need some volunteers," Alisha sighed sadly if he turns to look at her in wonder, we burst out laughing when she was still clueless about why we didn't volunteer, I mean who would want to do such a thing willingly.

"Hey, Enzo, wait for me," Lisa's twin brother stopped me, I groan annoyed already, the twins will be the death of me.

I ignore him and walk faster but he stops me standing in front of me, blocking my way, I look around to look for my friends but none of them were around. I curse my luck and look at him coldly not liking the conversation we were going to have.

"Hi, Enzo, how have you been? I didn't see you around the campus," he started all while smiling shyly.

Lion is a few inches shorter than me and was mildly built, he wasn't flamboyant or anything. he wore regular jeans and shirts, and he was way better than his slutty sister. in some way, he was genuine and the opposite of his sister.

"What do you want? you better make it fast I have somewhere else to be," I said rudely. he looks around us and pulls me into a corner, his face turns red as he bites his lower lip, an action which could be considered sexy if I was someone else but unfortunately I was me so the action irritated me further.

"Look, I understand you don't like me and the major part of it is my sister. she can be extra sometimes but can you please see me for me and not as Lisa's brother, " he begs while pouting slightly making him seem a tiny bit cute.

I cross my arms and look at him seriously, "Fine, say what you got to say, I'm willing to listen but just this once," I warn him and he nods his head vigorously enthusiastic.

"I will cut the chase then, " he breathes in deeply and let out "I like you, ok, I have liked you the moment I first laid my eyes on you, I didn't dare to speak to you about it before because I was scared you would be a jerk about it. but I have realized it now that you aren't like that, you won't bully me about it," he confessed loping down at the floor, tapping his feet nervously.

I saw this coming from a miles away, this wasn't the first male confession I had received but it still gives me creeps, maybe after bottoming out for a guy, had turned me gay, or at least bi.

"Listen here..." I stopped mid-sentence when a thought crossed my mind, I smiled at him showcasing my sparkly white teeth, "Sure, why not?" his head snapped at me.

His eyes widened when the words left my mouth, "Wow, yes, yeah, okay. so, how about dinner or coffee, we should go somewhere, do something..." I put my hand on his shoulders and stop him from rambling.

"Tomorrow at the event, be my date, we can spend the day together," I said smiling at him, he o the other hand, looked on the verge of passing out

"Yeah, ok, tomorrow. event. date. sure," he repeated over and over

I chuckled and pat his shoulder again and left for class, I skip my way to the class with a crazy smile on my face. I sat next to Josh smiling happily.

Josh stopped what he was doing and stared at me, "What the hell happened n to you? stop smiling like that it's creepy," he commented his face scrunched up in disgust.

I pat his arm smiling "I think I found a way to survive tomorrow," he didn't get it. but that didn't kill my mood.

I sighed 'it's going to be ok,' but what I didn't think through was the outcome of this stupidly.

I was going to regret it big time
