Room Designations

Zorah kept her arms wrapped around Icaro’s neck as he carried her across the threshold into their home. Her eyes widened incredulously as she got her first glance into the opulence of their life in America. Where the estate in Sicily and the Villa in Catania was not without luxury, it was humble and relaxed. This seemed on a whole other level.

Double spiral staircases wound from the middle of a huge open foyer leading in various directions. A chandelier the likes she’d never seen in her life, hung like a million stars gathered in one place and strategically dangled to shine the brightest.

“Over there,” he nodded his head in the direction beyond the staircase to the right, “is where Vodingo and Sidonia will live. They have their own set of rooms here in the house and will be located right there if you should ever need her.” He nodded to the staircase to the left, “that leads to my parents’ wing of the house. My mother prefers to spend the winter months in Italy and since Dad doesn’t like to be without her, they will be gone at least four months of the year. We will celebrate Christmas in Italy if this is okay with you?”

“Of course it is.” She smiled as she clung to him. He seemed reluctant to put her down and they were both purposefully not mentioning the scene they’d walked away from only moments ago. He motioned to a hall opposite the one where Vodingo and Sidonia would reside, “aunts and uncles who come to visit and don’t have their own condos in the city will stay down there in the guest quarters. There are also plenty of guest rooms.”

“How many bedrooms does this place have?” she asked.

“Fourteen in total, eighteen bathrooms, a pool, a training facility, a kitchen, a formal and informal dining room, a lounge area which I might have trashed and started over simply because Giarre’s hand was in it, and I now loathe the idea he had anything to do with renovating our home.”

“You don’t think he would have snooped through the house or our bedrooms or set up cameras or anything?”

Icaro frowned at her, “where did this come from?”

“Ippocrate put cameras in places, and I was unaware. It’s been playing on my mind. The minute Caiu said he was in love with me and has been watching me three years, it’s where my mind went.”

“Fuck,” he set her on her feet and pulled his phone out. He dialed out to Amauri who was still outside, “get a full crew in here now. I want to make sure Caiu Giarre didn’t put any recording equipment of surveillance in our house.”

It didn’t take long for a small army of men to file into the foyer with high-tech gear in their hands.

“Start in our quarters upstairs, please. Zorah and I will retire while you finish clearing the rest of the house.” Four men raced up the right side of the stairs.

“Will we have all the upstairs area over there?” she was curious to know.

“Yes. There are five bedrooms and six baths, an office and two sitting rooms in our space.”

“Why?” she was confused.

He grabbed her by the hips and pulled her flush to him, “because I intend to fill those bedrooms with our babies.”

“Oh!” she gasped at his words. “Four bedrooms upstairs in our quarters just for kids?”

“Well, they could double up if we have more than four. I quite like the idea of two little girls sharing their room and being close or having two little boys who are planning to be naughty instead of sleeping.”

“You are crazy.” She giggled wrapping her arms around his waist and standing on tiptoes to kiss his mouth softly. “What if we made a baby tonight?” The choking sound coming from Icaro caused her to pat his back. “Are you okay?”

“Yes. I’m great.” He cleared his throat. “Do you want to try for a baby?”

“Yes.” She nodded decisively. “I want your baby. I want to start our family. I want this, Icaro. I’m all in. I realized over the last week how much I want a life with you. I want it all.”

The way his nostrils flared told Zorah he was a man on the edge.

“What is wrong?”

“I want these bastards to hurry up and get the fuck out so I can take you to our rooms and make love to you and put a baby in your belly.” He ground his hips to hers, “can you tell how much I’m excited about the notion?”

Her eyes widened and she looked over her shoulder to see if anyone around was aware of his arousal. “Icaro.”

“I want you, Zorah.”  He swung her back up in his arms and started towards the stairs.

“You’re going to carry me up all these stairs?” she clung to him tightly.

“I am. There is a service elevator, but I would carry you to our bed every single night if you let me, Zorah.”

“I think every night would be overkill but I’m admitting I find this very sexy. Will I offend millions of feminists if I say I like feeling like a princess and a bit of a damsel in having you carry me around and rescue me from bad guys?”

“I don’t care if it does, I like feeling macho and manly and dare I admit,” he got to the top of the stairs, “a caveman where you are concerned. We will let it be our little secret.”

She nestled her head into the crook of his neck as he carried her to the far end of the hall, and they passed several men on the way.

“The rooms up here so far are clear,” Amauri nodded. “Your main bedroom, bathroom and wardrobe are all clear. We’ll finish up here soon.”

Icaro returned his nod and then carried Zorah into the room kicking the door closed behind him. She could feel his heartbeat racing under her as he carried her towards the massive bed in the center of the room. A single look at his profile told her he was as nervous as she was.

For all the things they’d done so far together, touching, tasting, and exploring, this was a huge moment for both of them. She’d never been more excited about anything.
