10: Preparing for the takeover
Back in the Land Of The Unknown Lucinda had gathered the kingdom for her special announcement that she knew everyone was either going to love or hate. “We have finally done it. I have finally figured out how to get into the kingdom of Greenville. Emma may have been smart but no one is going to stop me even your little brat.” She shot a glare to Cameron and Xavier.
“We don’t know what you are talking about Lucinda.” Cameron said in her best nonchalant voice, she was trying to bite her tongue so she didn’t say anything out of turn. But she hated how Lucinda was talking about her daughter.
Lucinda scoffed she didn’t believe her she knew Emma had sealed the barrier with her life. So the brat could come of age and defeat her. “Lies when i sent someone to take care of her you sent her through the portal to protect her. But no worries i’ll handle it how i always do.”
“Our daughter died.” Xavier proclaimed.
“Lies you think you can lie to me.” Lucinda said giving a dark chuckle she used to be a friend of theirs, and she knew they had plotted with Emma over this.
“We’ve all been doing it for years,” Cameron said with a shrug she knew how much the citizens hated Lucinda and couldn’t wait for the day when her daughter would overthrow her.
“It doesn’t matter i will come out on top in the end and there is nothing no one could do to stop me.” Lucinda bragged she planned on it being over before anything even started.
Cameron hugged she hated how Lucinda was so evil that she didn’t care about anyone but herself and she couldn’t wait for the time when someone would make her remember that she was nothing. “That’s what you think Lucinda you expect everyone to bow down to your rule but that is the last thing anyone will do. Because we don’t like you and we won’t let you win Layla will stop you so with Jonah. Together they will bring light to our dark world and restore the faith we all have lost.”
Lucinda raised her hand preparing to use Cameron as an example for the rest of the citizens. “You isolent little-”
Xavier raised his hand producing a ball of fire he could stand a lot of things. But trying to hurt his wife was something he wouldn’t let go. “Lucinda you do realize we’ve been kinder than we could have been.”
Lucinda scoffed lowering her hand she knew that if Xavier had really tried he could potentially overthrow her. But he only had not because he didn’t want to risk anything happening to Cameron. “When Emma dies in the next week i am taking over Greenville and if you guys bastards try to stop me then i will deal with you as i see fit.”
Xavier rolled his eyes putting his hand down. He didn’t care what she said he knew better. He knew the warning they had received would come to pass. She would be ended. “Whatever Lucinda do whatever you want you will anyways.”
Cameron chuckled she knew Lucinda thought this was the day she would finally win. But it was instead going to be a day that she would lose. “We have been waiting for years for this day Lucinda for the day when the prophecy comes true and you are taken out.”
“Ugh why must you two always be so difficult.” Lucinda screeched.
“I’m not being difficult i am simply trying to tell you something that you don’t want to hear.” Cameron stated she knew her former best friend had always hated when people ‘out did’ her persay.
“Whatever whether you guys like it or not this is happening so you best get prepared.” Lucinda ordered.
“Yes our queen.” They all replied mockingly.
Lucinda stormed back into her castle she hated how they never wanted to listen to her.
–
Emma was sitting on her baywindow looking outwards. She had a lot on her mind; she knew her days were coming close to an end. And she couldn’t help but thinking that she would never meet her own goddaughter.
Ryan walked into his quarters expecting to see Emma in her bed. He looked over to the window knowing that was the only other place she could be. He sighed going to sit next her he knew this was a lot for the entirely of the kingdom but he wanted his wife to be alright. “You are supposed to be resting.”
“I wonder if she’s ok.” Emma sighed she had always been scared that she had ended up giving her goddaughter a worse life.
Ryan eyed her confused unsure of the she his wife was talking about. Knowing it could rang from her best friend to even Lucinda. “Who?”
Emma took a breath looking over to her husband she could see it in his eyes he was worried. But she was happy he had been agreeing with her decisions. “Layla if she made it if she knows anything about herself. If she ended up with a good family.”
“I’m sure she is.” Ryan answered.
“She didn’t deserve how her life has started.” Emma said she knew her goddaughter had gotten the short end of the stick she hadn’t had a choice in how her life would go.
“I know she didn’t.” Ryan sighed he knew his wife often thought about it and even once wanted to go find her. But he had warned her that it wouldn’t be the best idea. If she had a somewhat normal life she deserved to continue living it until the time finally came.
Emma nodded she hated what her goddaughter had been through. She knew sending her through the barrier was tehre only chance at getting through anything. “She was only a baby and she was almost killed i wasn’t sure if they would listen and send her through the barrier. And it was risky to try and find her when i had just had it linked to my life. But i was always scared that she ended up with a bad life.”
“I’m sure she is fine i’m sure she has ended up with a lovely family,” Ryan assured her he knew Layla deserved the chance of normal until it was time to change that.
“I hope she did i hope she never had to worry about anything. I hope she got the life she should have gotten.”
“We simply have to trust that she did.”
