Layla woke up the next morning feeling a weight on her. She hesitantly opened her eyes noticing she was in a room she did not recongize. She turned slightly seeing that she had been cuddled into Jonah. The memories from the day before hit her. She moved his arm slightly not wanting to wake him up before slowly moving to the bathroom she went in closing the door before turning the light on.

She turned on the sink throwing some water in her face. “I’m ok. Everything is going to be ok.” She turned off the water looking at her face in the mirror. Her face definitely looked flushed but she was sure it was from the close contact with Jonah. She sighed before turning off the light and exiting the bathroom. Knowing she needed time to think she decided it was the perfect time to go and explore her new home.

She wandered through different corridors seeing different rooms and different things on the walls. She definitely could tell someone with powers lived here when you looked at everything. Flowers through the hallways, rooms with fire places. Rooms with vases throughout the entire place. She kept wandering the different halls until she came upon a library.

She headed inside looking at all of the different books everywhere. She began to go looking at the different books grabbing a few she stopped seeing two books that were side by side on their own shelf.

She set the other books down taking the two seeing one labeled Ice Kingdom and the other labled Fire Nation. She sat down at the table setting both down. She opened the first book seeing it was a map of the Fire Nation that had a border and on the other side reading Ice Kingdom.

Jonah woke up in the guest room noticing Layla wasn’t asleep besides him. He had remembered them talking and trying to get to know each other. He felt the other side of the bed feeling it was hotter than usual. He knew one thing was for sure she was right about her body temperature being ice cold.

He climbed out of the bed heading out of the room he seen different servants standing around. One of them walked over to him already knowing he was looking for the princess. “She got up early this morning.”

“Do you know where she is?” Jonah asked he was surprised she had woken up early since they had spent majority of the night talking and getting to know each other.

“She found the library.”

“Thank you.”

He headed towards the library heading inside and seeing Layla sleep at one of the tables. He walked over to her seeing that she had the books about The Land Of the Unknown. Seeing she had both open looking at the different magic the two kingdoms were capable of. He had sworn those books were supposed to be hidden from the main castle library.

“She found the books.”

Jonah turned to see his mother sitting in one of the far chairs. He should have figured his mother would be watching over Layla without her noticing. “I thought they were hidden.”

“I put them back out a few days ago.” Emma shrugged she wanted her goddaughter to be able to see her history to know the stuff they couldn’t share.“I figured she deserved to see them. It is her history after all.”

“I guess you are right.” Jonah sighed.

“I usually am.” Emma answered. But that was simply in her nature and no one was going to be able to change that.

Jonah shot his mom a playful glare he knew she was right. And it was something he loved about her she knew what to say and when she knew what to do and when. “Aren’t you supposed to be resting mom?”

Emma let out a huff crossing her arms over her chest she loved them dearly she did. But she was going to die and she didn’t want to spend her last days cooped up. And being forced to only rest. “You guys worry to much about me everything is fine.”

“Mom.” Jonah warned setting his hands behind him on the table and leaning back against it. He needed his mother to know this was serious.

Emma sighed she loved her dearly she loved that her was so protective of her but she needed to live. And she did not want him living for her. She wanted to see where his life was going to take him. “You know i have spells on the library so i know when someone comes in here. I sensed the minute that she entered i knew she would find them and be intrigued. After all we didn’t tell her much about her past about her Kingdom. You’re life is yours baby and you don’t need to worry about me nothing is going to change.”

“Yeah i guess your right.” Jonah sighed. He hated that she was right but he couldn’t help it worry about his mother. She was his mom she had been there since he was born and suddenly she was going to be gone.

Emma laughed again she was right and she was waiting for her son to notice this was going to be a permanent thing. “So what brings you here i swore you were supposed to be taking her to your room and going to bed.”

“Mom!” Jonah shouted. The last thing he wanted his mom to do was act like he wasn’t grown and capable of being with someone.

Emma let out a sigh shaking her head she had knew it was going to be coming but that didn’t really prepare her for it now that the time was here. “I know my baby boy is all grown up now.”

Jonah went and sat in the chair next to his mother. He knew she wouldn’t stop until she got an answer. “We were talking we are supposed to be doing this together but we hardly know each other. So we asked questions and we fell asleep.”

“I’m so proud of you.” Emma said. She was proud he was taking initiative that he was falling in love she was proud of who he was becoming. “Take her back to her room leave the books with her she deserves the chance to know about her history. She deserves to know more than we could tell her.”

“I will you go back to your room too didn’t you say we were going to have a long day today.”

“Yeah i did. ”

Jonah went over to the counter in the far corner grabbing a bag and walking back over to a sleeping Layla. He took the books putting them into the bag before picking her up bridal style. “Goodnight mom.”

“Night Baby.”
