16: Learning of Lucinda

Layla looked to them both confused she didn’t get whatelse there could be that they had to share with her. “What more can there be besides the fact that i’m adopted? And you know that i have powers that i don’t even know where came from.”

Liana went and sat on her bed patting the spot next to her. Layla went and sat next to her mother confused. She was still unsure of what was going on. “Telling you that we know who your birth parents are and we know who you really are and we need to tell you that it’s your job and your soulmate to save Greenville when Lucinda comes back?”

Layla chuckled scarcely she had heard of Lucinda she had heard about the barrier but she had thought it was nothing but a myth to scare people into behaving. “I thought Lucinda was a myth.”

Henry went and sat on the otherside of his daughter he knew it was time for her to know everything. She needed to be prepared for what was to come she deserved to not be caught off guard. “No baby she is very much dead and her best friend risked her life to make sure she stayed away.”

“We will tell you everything that we know we know we should have told you sooner but we weren’t sure how.” Liana said honestly. She had never been sure about how she was supposed to open up to her daughter and let her know who she was or where it came from. Because she didn’t want her daughter to feel more different then she already felt.

“Tell me what?” Layla asked looking between the two she didn’t get why she was left here. Why she was the only one of her kind. Why she had to do this alone. “That i’m supposed to be some hero how when i can’t even control my powers.”

“It’s easier said than done.” Henry said. He wanted to be honest with her and that meant sharing everything that they knew. Where she was from and what they knew about what she was to do.

“How so?” Layla asked.

Layla looked between them astonished she didn’t believe it. Although she did admit it made sense why her parents were pushing the ball. “Me and the prince no there is no way.”

“Listen to me we know this is a lot to take in but you have to listen to us.” Liana pleaded she need her baby to know they did everything they could in order to protect her from what was to come. “This came up before you were born and when we were watching you grow up and we realized the powers you possessed we knew that we had to do everything we could to protect you,.”

“So what do i need to know about Lucinda what aren’t you telling me.” Layla asked she knew this wasn’t it they knew somethings about what had happened. What Lucinda had done to Greenville why the barrier had been closed.

“Lucinda was trying to take over Greenville but her best friend had to stop her by closing the barrier.” Liana sighed she knew her best friend had only done what she had to do. That she hadn’t seen another choice but to protect the kingdom. But she knew nothing lasted forever Lucina was going to come back to continue her reign of terror. “But soon the barrier has to come down and when Lucinda comes out she is going to come to find you first.”

Layla nodded everything was coming together why they lived so far from everyone else. Why she wasn’t allowed to be like everyone else why they were homeschooled and only went out when necessary. “But how is she going to find me?”

“Layla we are simply worried she is going to find a way.” Henry knew someone as smart and powerful as Lucinda was capable of doing whatever it took to get what she wanted. “When Lucinda wants to find something she usually does.”

Liana nodded she knew that was right for sure that was why they wanted her to be ready for what was to come. But that wasn’t the only thing it was also the matter of the ball. While she knew for sure love at first sight was real. She was excited for her daughter to experience it. She knew it would change the way she thought about everything. “We just want to make sure you are ready because soon when you meet him things are going to change and we just want you to know whatever happens we love you. And you are still our daughter nothing will change that even when you eventually meet your birth parents.”

Layla took both of their hands she wanted to make sure they heard this. She loved them they were her parents that was always going to remain true. “Nothing will change you are still my parents you raised me. I love you guys.”

“You are our first baby you were the first one we got and we will always protect you no matter where your from no matter who your parents are or what you have to do. Your our miracle girl.”
