12: Giving her the choice
Back in the Land Of The Unknown
Lucinda was pacing back and forth now that she knew the barrier was going to soon be coming back she was starting to get antsy. She had hoped the little prophecy would be wrong that she had taken care of the brat but at last she had not.
“My queen what would you like us to do now?”
Lucinda growled stopping in her tracks and turning to look at them right now the only thing she wanted from anyone was not to be bothered. “Now i would like some peace and quiet to think i need to figure out a plan of what i am going to do about the brats.”
“What are you considering my queen?” Even if barely any of them were loyal to her it always helped to know what was going on so they could relay to others.
Lucinda sighed going to have a seat in her throne she had decided how she was going to takeover it was simple. She was going to take care of the problem once and for all but this time she was going to do it herself to make sure it was done right. “Killing them for starters but i know that isn’t going to go the way i want. I must try and keep her parents from meeting her make it seem as if i am her friend gain her trust and use that to take over.”
“That could work your majesty.” He knew better he knew if Emma was in Greenville she was going to make sure her goddaughter was ready for what was to come.
“It will work.” Lucinda argued she didn’t care what tricks she had to pull she was going to make this work if it was the last thing she did.
“Yes my queen.”
“Prepare the time has finally come.”
“Yes my queen.”

Layla was sitting on her floor juggling balls of water. It had been 2 days since her fitting and she had only managed to give herself an even worse freak out. So she had decided in an effort to try and calm herself down she thought what better way then trying to practice her powers to take her mind off things.
There was a knock at the door she quickly blew on the water bubbles making them steam out before getting up and going to open the door. She sighed when she seen it was only Zamiyah and Ethan. “What do you two want?” She knew the two of her siblings hardly got along so if they were together it was serious.
“To talk?” Ethan answered it was simple they needed to have a conversation with his sister.
“About?” Layla asked.
“The ball.” Zamiyah answered she knew as much as she hated this conversation they needed to have it.
“Can we come in this needs to be a private conversation?” Ethan asked he knew they couldn’t let their parents hear about this conversation they wouldn’t agree on any of the points.
“Ok.” Layla said she let the two of them walk in and closed the door behind them. She went and had a seat on her bed looking over at them. She didn’t like the fact they were double teaming her right now on this. “What is this about.”
Ethan sighed he knew it was time for them to go along with their plan. They had to make sure their sister had a fighting chance at this. “We think if you are really terrified of what could happen then you should leave.”
“What?” Layla asked confused she didn’t get why they would want her to leave.
“You should run leave get somewhere else for right now. Hide until he chooses a wife so you don’t have to worry about this.” Zamiyah hated saying the words but she knew her brother had a point. If she got chosen then she would be in danger. And she stood out they would see her.
“I won’t leave you guys.” Layla argued she didn’t care how bad life got for her these were her siblings she’d never abandon them.
Ethan shook his head he loved his sister for wanting to stay even if she was in danger but he knew that couldn’t happen. “We love you sis but if leaving is what you have to do then it is what you have to do.”
“We want you to do what is best for you Layla.” Zamiyah said.
“We know you love us and you don’t want to up and leave us but if it means that you are going to be safe. Then you are going to be safe we can reconnect after all of this blows over.” Ethan added.
“Yeah.” Zamiyah agreed she knew he was right when this was over there sister could come back to them but for right now she needed to be careful and protected.
Layla shook her head feeling her eyes well up with tears, she didn’t care about her she had to be here to make sure they were ok. To be their big sister. “I don’t-”
“Don’t think about us we will be fine we are worried about you. We know you don’t have the best control and we know you are scared of something going wrong.” Ethan knew for right now she was a risk she was in danger if any one ever found out what she could do. Her safety had to top priority. “And if you think it is that risky and that you have a possibility of this going wrong then you leave for your saftey.”
“I love you guys.” Layla smiled wiping the tears from her face she loved that they were willing to let her go if it meant she was going to be ok.
Ethan smiled he loved his sister she had always been by his side and he knew that if he had to choose between her safety or potentially losing ehr the choice was obvious. Her safety would always take priority over anything else. “We love you too your our sister and if its between our happiness and your safety then it is a nobrainer what you are going to do.”
“Ok.” Layla siad.
“We want you to be safe when this all blows over you can come back but this is what you need to do.” Zamiyah said. She would always put her sister over her because she was the best person she knew.
“I’m so terrified i’ll go and something will happen and i’ll lose control of my power.” She knew she was the only one like her left in Greenville ands he knew the kingdom wouldn’t be kind to her after closing the border off. “I’ll expose myself and i’ll end up killed for it. I’m a member of a species that has been banished from here.”
“Do what you have to do Layla.” Ethan ordered he didn’t care if it was leaving if she had to do it then it was simply that.
“Thank you guys.”
“Of course.”
