Chapter Fifty-Four - Not Ready To Say Goodbye

Paxton

I check my cell as Carter heads to the bar for drinks. I noticed Kenna had texted about an hour ago. There seem to be some photos attached. I make sure no one is close enough to see. I have no idea what they are. I open it and scroll through it. I smile at the cute ones, but the further I go down, I soon groan at the sexy ones. Fuck! They are damn hot.

I admire them for a moment before moving them to a secure folder and deleting them from the text: better safe than sorry.

Damn, baby girl. What are you trying to do to me? Xx

All I want to do is make an excuse to leave early and go home. The only issue with that is home for now is Carter’s home. If I leave, he will probably come with me. I stare at the screen, waiting for a reply, but one doesn’t come. There is a chance she has fallen asleep. She has had a long day. I will see her later. I take one last look at the photos before I put my cell away before Carter returns. I hate I need to hide them, hide us, but it is for the best. It is what Kenna wants.

Carter returns with our drinks.

I smile, “Thank you.”

“I am thinking of heading home after this unless you want to go somewhere else?” he asks.

I shake my head, “No, home is fine.”

Hopefully, he won’t be too late going to bed. I can’t go and see Kenna until he goes to bed.

“When can I expect to see you again?” he asks.

“I am not sure, but I will try to come back in the next few weeks. You and Kenna should try to come and see me in the city. You can crash at mine.” I answer.

“We will. You can let us know when you are free, and we will fly out.” He smiles.

I have plenty of space at my place. Maybe one day, when they come to visit, Kenna and I won’t be hiding our relationship from him. We will have to tell him about us. We can hide it from the rest of the world for as long as we want. We can’t do the same with Carter. The longer we hide it, the worse it will be.
We finish our drinks and start to walk back. We stopped in for pizza to take back.

“McKenna may be sleeping, but we can wake her to see if she wants a slice.” He says.

“Good idea.” I agree.

I can take her a slice up. It gives me an excuse to see her without raising suspicions.

It doesn’t take long to arrive home. The house is silent and in darkness. She must be asleep, as we thought. I take two slices of pizza and put them on a napkin.

“I will take this up to Kenna.” I smile.

He nods, taking a seat on the sofa. I head upstairs and enter her room. She is sound asleep, but her lamp is still on. Her book and snacks are next to her on the bed. I close the door behind me.

I sit on the side of her bed. I set the pizza down. I caress her cheek, and she moans softly under my touch. I reach down and press my lips to hers. She moans again, louder this time. Kenna kisses back and slips her arms around my neck. I groan into the kiss.

I pull back after a second, “I brought you some pizza, angel.”

I sit back up straight. She smiles, doing the same. She reaches for the pizza and takes a bite.

“So, shall we discuss the photos you sent me?” I ask with a raised brow.

She smirks and takes another bite, so her mouth is too full to talk.

“Did you enjoy teasing me, knowing I couldn’t do anything about it?”

She nods. She goes to take another bite, but I stop her by grabbing her wrist.

“Hey!” she pouts.

“You have some explaining to do.” I chuckle.

“Why? I thought the photos said it all. Did you not like them?”

Why would she ask such a question?

I take the pizza and sit it back on the napkin. I tower over her, my hands on the pillow at each side of her head.

“You know damn well I liked them very much,” I reply and trace my lips along her jawline.

She whimpers and entangles her fingers into my hair. Kenna uses her grip on it to bring my lips to her. She kisses me roughly, her legs snaking around me. Things become heated quickly. I grasp her hips, and we soon get carried away.

My cock stirs to life. She grinds her hips up against me. I hiss into the kiss. Fuck, so good! But we need to stop. If I take too long, Carter will come up, searching for me.

I hesitantly stop and rest back on my knees. My breathing is heavy, and my face warm. My cock is throbbing. Kenna pants beneath me, and her face flushed like mine.

“We need to stop. I should get back downstairs.” I sigh.

“Yes, you should before he comes up looking for you.” She replies.

I didn’t want to leave, but I had no choice. I kiss her softly.

“I will come back later,” I promise.

I climb off the bed and take a moment to pull it together. I go into the bathroom to splash some cold water on my face and fix my hair. I need to make myself presentable before I rejoin him. He seems oblivious to anything happening. Let’s hope it stays this way.

****
It is two in the morning by the time I can sneak into Kenna’s room. She is sound asleep. I won’t wake her up this time. She has work in the morning. I ensure my alarm is set so I can return to my room before Carter wakes up.

I climb in next to her. She rolls over in her sleep, snuggling into my side and buries her face in my neck. I smile and wrap my arm around her, pulling the covers up. She drapes her leg over. I chuckle at her movement. She sleeps in some positions.

I kiss the top of her head, “Rest well, beautiful.”

I stare down at her and sigh. I hate I need to leave soon. It is going to be too much.

“I wish I could stay here with you,” I whisper.

I close my eyes, hoping for sleep to take over me. I hug her tighter as I do.

“Paxton, are you okay, babe?” she asks tiredly.

“I am fine, angel. Go back to sleep.” I reply and reach down to kiss her softly.

“Are you sure?” she whispers.

“All good, sweetheart.”

“Okay, then get some sleep.” She says, nuzzling her nose against my neck.

“Yes, ma’am.”

It doesn’t take long for her to fall back asleep. I didn’t want to tell her what was on my mind, or she wouldn’t go back to sleep until she knew what was wrong with me. I am more than ready for our night together at the apartment. I clear my mind of any thoughts, relaxing my body. I close my eyes, and sleep slowly begins to take over me. I will only get a few hours before my alarm goes off to go to my bed.

Kenna will stay at the apartment tomorrow night. Carter believes she is away tomorrow afternoon to her conference. I hate we lie to him, but what choice do we have?
