Chapter 12 Acquisition

The large room suddenly became very quiet,so quiet that Victoria could hear Sebastian flicking his cigarette ash and see the sparks falling from his fingertips.
Victoria rarely saw Sebastian smoke,or more accurately,Sebastian rarely smoked in front of her because he took care of her health.
Suddenly feeling uneasy,Victoria had been happy today because she accidentally saw a text message on Sebastian's phone last night. Eleanor wanted to divorce him. She also knew that Sebastian went to see Eleanor this morning. Victoria thought he was eager to get divorced but now he looked gloomy as if it wasn't what she thought.
"Sebastian, let's eat." Sebastian came back to reality and extinguished the cigarette in his hand before coming to the table and looking at all the dishes Victoria had made.
Compared with Eleanor's cooking skills, there was still something missing. Why did he think of that woman again...? Sebastian clenched his teeth and pushed away those thoughts from his mind.
Sitting opposite each other,Victoria ate slowly while occasionally glancing at him with her eyes. Several times she moved her lips as if wanting to say something but ultimately couldn't bring herself to speak up.
"Sebastian, how did your talk with Eleanor go today?"
With handsome features even down to his hands holding chopsticks elegantly during dinner time; when hearing Victoria’s question,Sebastian paused slightly before answering: "What about it?"
Victoria bit her lip lightly and hesitated before saying: "About you divorcing Eleanor today..."
As soon as she finished speaking, she felt a cold gaze from the man in front of her like being splashed by a bucket of cold water which caused shivers running through her body along with fear in her eyes.
Perhaps sensing her fear,Sebastian softened his gaze and said: "We're not getting divorced."
Was it because Eleanor didn’t want a divorce or was it because he didn’t want to? Victoria preferred to believe it was the former.
"Sebastian, you and Eleanor are a real couple. I'm just your mistress at best. I used to hate third parties but never thought that one day I would become the person I hated most. I feel so bad for stealing someone else's husband and even needing her blood."
Sebastian didn't like people who pitied themselves, but he felt guilty towards Victoria and had more patience with her than usual.
"I signed an agreement with Eleanor, she voluntarily gave blood. You don't have to feel sorry for her."
Victoria asked in a depressed tone: "If my health improves and I no longer need Eleanor's blood, will you divorce her then? Also,do you still intend on marrying me as you promised before?"
Faced with these questions Sebastian couldn’t answer any of them or rather he didn’t know how to answer them; his suppressed emotions suddenly rose again.
"Sebastian,I just don't want you to be forced into doing something you don't want because of me..."
Suddenly standing up interrupting her words: "I'll work overtime at the company tonight and won't come here anymore these days." Sebastian left quickly without looking back when Victoria stood up wanting to chase after him.
The door made a loud noise which shook her heart; she didn’t know what expression she should make now while standing by the window watching his figure downstairs until there was nothing left.
The first thing Sebastian did when he returned to the company was preparing for acquiring The Stone Family. His assistant Michael sent him a transfer record showing 3 million yuan in total amount.
"He signed all documents?"
"Yes," Michael said: "Last night we got John Stone drunk and let him sign whatever we wanted. He didn't suspect anything even after sobering up obediently transferring 3 million yuan over."
Sebastian sneered; except for Eleanor everyone from The Stone Family were a bunch of fools.
"Three days, get rid of him." Sebastian was concise and to the point.
