Chapter 10
Looking at the picture of Dave, Abigail's eyes instantly turned shot up. She snatched the phone from Mia's hand. Her eyes stuck on the man in the picture. This was Dave. Her Dave. He looked much more handsome than she remembered. Though he still looked the same, something about him seemed different. This wasn't because she hasn't seen him for a long time, strangely she felt hurt for no reason.
Abigail's crystal blue eyes read through the little information attached to Dave's picture. Her already round eyes widened the more as her eyes scanned over the words again. Dave was now a big hit in the entertainment industry. He not only made a movie, but was also shortlisted for an award as California's famous star, across several countries.
Abigail was in shock. Dave and her both went to the same college, Dave was her senior, he majored in acting while Abigail majored in directing. She didn't expect that in just two years, Dave would become California's most famous star. Totally unbelievable.
Abigail continued scrolling down. There was a sudden thud in her heart as her eyes took in the name of the movie that turned Dave into a star. It was written by Dave.
That's fucking impossible. Abigail yanked Mia's arm very hard. "This is the script I wrote myself, why on earth does it say here that it was written by Dave Anderson?"
Abigail couldn't be mistaken. This script was written by her. She remembered it clearly as though it was yesterday she wrote it. It was titled, 'Fairy Tale'. Even the names of the male and female leads to the general plot were the same. She remembered it all.
Mia took Abigail's hand in hers, and forced Abigail's blue gaze on her. "I knew it. That fucking bastard stole your script, right?" She asked, searching through Abigail's confounded gaze. She could see her friend was lost in her thoughts.
"Abi," Mia called again, getting her attention. "How is it possible that you only remembered getting engaged to that imbecile but forgot everything he did to you?* Mia huffed vexedly.
Abigail couldn't mutter a word. She still couldn't believe Dave was capable of stealing her work. He wasn't like that. At least the Dave she remembered wasn't such an asshole, and a thief.
Frustration prickled at her chest. Mia's brutal words latched at her. "What did you mean by 'after everything he did to me' What exactly happened between Dave and I?"
Mia sighed. "It's not important anymore. All you need to know is Dave is a worthless scumbag, and thank goodness you don't have any relationship with him now."
Abigail swallowed several deep breaths. Her voice became softer, and more broken as tears welled up in her blue eyes. "Mia, I don't remember anything. What exactly did Dave do to me?"
Mia drew close to her friend, placing an arm around her. "Abigail, not remembering the last two years doesn't have to be a bad thing. You are already married to Asher Reed, and you have a life with him, just forgot about Dave bloody Anderson. He's not worth it." Mia tried comforting Abigail, but it was difficult for Abigail to accept her friend's words.
How can she just forget about Dave without knowing about everything that happened between them in the last two years? That didn't make sense.
Dave and her were in love with each other and dreamt of a life with one another, how could she just forget about that?
Impossible.
Abigail wiped her teary eyes, and pulled them to Mia. "No matter what, I can't just forget about what happened in the last two years with Dave. That's impossible. Dave stole my script from me, at least he owes me some explanation." Her trembling pink lips pursed into a smile. "I worked really hard on that script, and Dave stole it from me, he deserves to pay."
Mia looked at Abigail with a stunned face, "You mean, you want to take revenge on Dave?"
Aside from revenge. What Abigail wanted desperately was to talk to him. "I want to talk to him, Mia. Do you know if you could get his contact information for me?"
Mia rubbed her palm together. "I don't know Abby. Are you really sure you want to meet that asshole?"
Abigail nodded with surety. "I do. If you can't get his contact, do you know where he might be?"
"Dave is a very busy and famous star. You won't be able to meet him even if you go to his house. But he will definitely be attending the California's Golden award in five days time. It will be easier to meet him there." Mia voiced, sipping from her tea.
The corners of Abigail's mouth twitched slightly in a smile but it soon vanished. Her perfect eyes on Mia. "Would I be allowed inside? I'm not even invited, or can I go in with you, reporter Mia?"
"That won't be possible, I'm just a small time reporter, I won't be allowed inside either, but your husband can take you in. Reco entertainment is one of the organizers of the event, and Asher Reed will also be handing awards to the best male star and female star." Mia moved closer to Abigail. "It's best you go with him instead."
Abigail wasn't sure about this. It felt so uncomfortable. She was going to use her present husband she barely knew to meet her ex lover. Was this really a good thing?
"Don't think about anything, honey."
Abigail sighed. "I will have to plan for that." She wasn't sure if Asher would allow her to attend the award night with him. "Mia, we really haven't been in touch for six months?"
Mia hummed. "That's true. You can take a look at our chats," Mia handed her phone to Abigail. Abigail began to scroll through their messages. It's really been six months without contact. To be exact, she never responded to Mia's several messages.
This wasn't like her. Abigail rubbed her face with her palm.
Abigail looked very serious and focused, reading through the messages. Hoping somehow they could trigger something, and their chats could make her remember some of her lost memories.
Suddenly, Abigail's heart banged against her chest at one of the last messages she sent to Mia.
'I had a dream, Mia. A very scary dream.' She had sent it to Mia. Abigail sent another message a second later.
'Mia, Mia. For the third time it's that dream again.'
