Chapter 23
Chapter 23 - How come it's different from what she remembers
Abigail froze and asked the housekeeper rhetorically, "Why do I have to go to the hospital today?"
She had lost her memory of two years ago, she wouldn't regain them back just by going to the hospital.
The housekeeper said with a serious and earnest face, "Madam, today is the weekend."
"I know it's the weekend, what does this have to do with me going to the hospital?" Abigail frowned, asking the housekeeper in a very puzzled manner.
The housekeeper looked like she wanted to say something but couldn't.
A moment later, Abigail sighed before saying to the housekeeper, "I'll go change my clothes and head to the hospital."
"Okay madam, the driver is already waiting for you in the living room."
Abigail's brain hurt from thinking about it, but she still couldn't remember. For what reason was she going to the hospital for every weekend?
After a casual shower, Abigail changed into her purple casual clothes and came to the living room, where she saw not only the driver, but also her husband, Asher.
Today was the weekend, so he didn't need to go to the office.
After thinking about it, Abigail felt she shouldn't leave without talking to Asher.
"Asher, I'm going out."
Asher didn't look at her way, "Eat breakfast first."
"I don't have much of an appetite." It was mainly because Abigail's hands were still sore and would be unable to hold the spoon steadily.
"Hmm?" Asher looked up at Abigail and it scared her to shiver because it occurred to her that he would result to feed her in a special way.
"I'm going to eat now." Abigail said, trotting straight into the dining room.
The maid in charge asked her respectfully, "Madam, what do you want to eat?"
"Just give me a cup of soy milk, and yes, also give me a straw." Abigail's face unconsciously blushed.
There was no way she could be as calm as Asher as if nothing had happened last night. Looking at her own hand, she couldn't help but think about it.
Asher suddenly sat down in the seat beside her, scaring her with his presence. Hurriedly, she put her hands under the table.
Shortly, the maid placed the soy milk in front of Abigail, along with a blue straw.
Swallowing hard, Abigail tried hard to make herself ignore Asher's awkward presence and drink the soy milk with the straw.
"You just drank soy milk?"
Asher's words managed to make her choke on the soy milk.
She coughed until tears came out of her eyes, and came to her, patting her back, looking at her coldly.
Slowly ceasing her coughing, Abigail finished the entire cup of soy milk before saying in a hoarse voice to Asher, "Asher do you have to sit so close to me, your presence is making me feel stressed out."
A sandwich and a bowl of skinny meat porridge were pushed in front of Abigail, courtesy of Asher who had no intention of getting up and leaving her side.
"Asher, I'm full, the driver is waiting for me?"
Just before she could get up, Asher held her back to sit.
"You can't leave until you've finished eating."
(Qiao Niannian waved her hand lightly at Fourth Master Li, thinking, "Fourth Master Li should understand what she means, right?
The other party did understand, and Fourth Master Li picked up the sandwich and placed it by Qiao Niannian's mouth.
The thoughtful service of Fourth Master Li did not make Qiao Niannian's heart blossom, she wanted to cry.)
If she eats this sandwich, all the exercising she had been doing would be for nothing.
Frowning like a child, Abigail took a small bite of the sandwich, "Asher, I'm really full." She said in a hurry to get to the hospital and figure out why she had to go to the hospital every weekend?
Asher put down the sandwich, and just when Abigail happily thought she could stop eating, her husband's low, nice voice rang in her ears, "Eat the congee."
"Asher, you're really worst than my dad."
Coldly humming, Abigail picked up the spoon and quickly ate the porridge, actually she temporarily forgot that her hands were sore.
It was only when she got into the car and was about to close the door that she realized anew that her hands couldn't even close the car door.
She looked at him with a misty-eyed expression.
"Asher, do you want to go to the hospital with me too?"
"Mm."
Abigail's big watery eyes kept turning around, Asher was actually going to the hospital with her, could it be that every weekend Asher would accompany her?
This is impossible, right?
The more she thought about it, the stranger Abigail felt.
But Asher was working on his tablet, so she was too embarrassed to bother him.
In fact, Abigail was afraid that she would annoy Asher if she asked too many questions.
She decided to leave everything as they were and go to the hospital first to find out what's going on.
The car stopped at the entrance of the hospital, Abigail popped her head out the window to look at the name of the hospital, it was a hospital owned by the Lai Group.
Her hands were unconsciously clenched into fists, Abigail had a thousand questions, but she didn't ask, she just silently followed behind Asher and stepped into the elevator together. Getting out, Asher stopped his pace at the entrance of a VIP ward.
Abigail saw the person on the hospital bed, but she the person remained unmoved as she lay.
Was it her mother?
No, her mother was not like this.
From what she remembered, her mother loved to smile, she was healthy and energetic.
How could she be lying motionless in a hospital bed? And there were many tubes on her body.
This was certainly not true, that wasn't her mother.
Her feet felt heavy like a boulder were placed on them, yes, she did not want to walk over so she could continue to lie to herself that what was in front of her wasnt real.
It was just a dream, a very scary nightmare.
"Miss Abigail, your mother is still the same as ever." After the nurse finished talking to her, she looked at Asher, and then it was hard for the nurse to move her gaze away.
A tear rolled down her cheek unconsciously and she tried collecting herself before she asked the nurse, "How long has my mother been like this?"
The nurse reluctantly moved her gaze away from Asher to Abigail with a puzzled face.
A moment later, the nurse said, "Miss Abigail, I started taking care of your mother a year ago."
Damn! Abigail felt like running directly into a moving vehicle, at this very moment, she despised herself and the fact that she couldn't remember anything. She wanted to know the reason why her mother had become like this, in this state.
Suddenly, Abigail seemed to remember something. She ran out of the ward and towards the driver who brought her here.
He opened the car door for her, and she got in, Asher followed her all the way to the car.
Abigail eagerly told the driver an address, and asked him to drive as fast as possible but driver only looked at Asher who gave him the go ahead start the car.
It didn't take long for the car to arrive at the address Abigail had mentioned.
Without estimating, Abigail got out of the car, surprised. How come it was different from what she remembered?
