Chapter 31
Asher froze, recieving a call from his wife for the first ever. He delebrated weither he should ignore her call because he was currently having a meeting.
Just when Abigail thought that Asher wouldn't answer her call, her pressed the answer button.
"Is something wrong?"
A low, beautiful voice suddenly rang in her ears, scaring Abigail so much that she almost threw her phone out.
Luckily, she held on in the nick of time, although she had a black card, she could buy a new one if she broke it, after all the it was Asher's money .
"Are you busy?"
Was that an actually question? He had paused his very important meeting just to answer her call, so yes, he was busy.
"Good."
Without giving Abigail a chance to speak, Asher had already hung up the phone directly.
She could only say to the 'beep' sound of the phone, "He just said 'good', meaning he changed his mind and is coming back for dinner, yesss..."
Immediately afterwards, Abigail popped a video call to Mia and gave her the full gist.
Mia said, "Then you still don't go and prepare a full banquet?"
The corners of Abigail's mouth twitched several times, "It's just my that my cooking skills... i'm not sure I can prepare a full Han banquet? I don't want to burn the kitchen down."
"Then have a plan B, have the maids make a full Han Dynasty banquet, when your husband returns, pretend to be busy in the kitchen and say that you made it all. Simple!"
"Do you think Asher is a fool?"
"No, not like that."
"Then why do you think I can easily fool him? I'm a directing major, not an acting major."
"Oh! I suddenly remember that I have a very important interview, I have to go baby. I'll wait for your good news, bye..."
Abigail looked at the phone screen and began to think.
Asher did what he said he would do and returned home at six o'clock, not a minute after.
"Asher, you're back, how's work. Dinner is ready."
The words fell out of Abigail's mouth who was wearing an apron like a virtuous little wife.
Stepping into the dining room, Asher looked at the eight dishes and one soup on the table and asked to Abigail, "Did you make all of them?"
Her big watery eyes kept turning around, Abigail swallowed hard and squeezed four words out of her teeth, "Not all of them."
Asher asked her in a light-hearted manner, "Did you make those?"
Scratching her hair, Abigail walked towards the kitchen while saying, "I didn't take out the ones I made yet."
Without making Asher wait long, Abigail placed the delicacies she had made, in front of him.
"Asher, this is what I made, it's perfect for eating before dinner."
Looking at the plate of brightly colored fruit and vegetable salad, Asher gave her a warm smile.
"Sit, try what I made."
"No, I'm afraid of being poisoned by you."
She picked up the plate of salad and put it in front of Asher again. "Please try it. Not only does it look brightly colored, it also tastes really great."
Asher, who had just picked up his chopsticks, immediately put them down again.
"Can you afford to pay if it tastes bad?"
Abigail shrank her neck, "It's impossible, I tried it myself and it tasted really good."
Asher got up from his seat, "I'm full."
Asher was quick to tug Asher by the arm, "But you haven't eaten anything yet? How come are you full?
She looked pitiful, "Asher, forget it, I won't force you to try my dish, you can eat what you want."
After all, not everyone likes this kinds of food and she can understand that.
After watching Asher sit down again, Abigail sat down as well.
She placed the plate of fruit and vegetable salad in front of herself and began to eat it.
This was her dinner, in fact, the taste was really not bad.
But this was all because of the ingredients, no need to stir fry and steam, just mix well.
This was prove to her that she was, she still knew her way around the kitchen.
"Asher this tastes really good, I didn't lie to you." Abigail kept stuffing the vegetables into her mouth to prove that she really didn't lie to him.
But if he didn't taste the fruit and vegetable salad she made at all, then how else could she get him to help her?
Asher was elegantly drinking his soup, as if he did not pay attention to her.
Abigail frowned as she finished the fruit and vegetable salad she had made all by herself.
'He's such an ungrateful man, there's just no pleasing him at all huh?' She thought, still frowning.
After eating, Abigail went back to her room, while Asher departed to his study.
"Whats plan C?" Abigail asked Mia who was at the other end of the phone.
Mia laughed so hard that her head could fell off, "Hahahaha..."
"Tch, if you keep laughing, your head is going to fall off."
It was only with great difficulty that Mia stopped herself from laughing.
"Asher so cruel, didnt you pressure him a little?"
"I did but he didn't want to try it, so tell me plan C! I need to see Dave!"
"Are you sure you still want to seek revenge on him?" Mia asked curious.
"And If you don't want to seek revenge on him, do you want to find him to renew your previous relationship?"
Mia turned serious in seconds, "So which is it."
"That can't be possible? I hate those who plagiarise, he did not just plagiarize, he stole what I've written for himself. If he doesn't give me a valid explanation when we meet, he'll regret ever stealing from me."
"What if he says that he had no choice back then and he did it for you and he still loves you."
Abigail lightly frowned, "I doubt that would happen,"
"Who knew? Scums do all this, it's their routine, okay! Why don't you bring a cup of coffee to your husband, then try to ask him, that's the plan C."
"Fine I'll do it. Bye, I'm going, wait for my good news."
Brewing coffee Abigail realised that she still remembered how to prepare it perfectly, she carefully carried the coffee and lightly knocked on the door of the study.
After getting Asher's permission to come in, she pushed the door in, but saw that he wasn't alone, there was a woman in the study.
The coffee in her hand fell directly to the floor.
