Chapter 29
The knock sounded again on the door, making Abigail pull closer to Asher.
Who on earth could be knocking at the door at this hour?
"Who is that?" Asher asked in a deep, and husky voice.
Abigail heard the person outside say, "Sir, Miss Rebecca has cut her vein and committed suicide..."
Abigail froze on hearing this. Wasn't Rebecca locked up in the room on the first floor?
This was terrible news, how did she cut herself? Was it because of her?
She couldn't help but feel guilty. She looked at Asher, and found that he was not in a hurry, he was even more relaxed than she was.
However, once he got up, Abigail also hurried to follow, after all, this was a matter of life and death and this was Asher's sister they were talking about.
"Asher, your sister needs you now, can you hurry up?" She said to Asher who was changing his clothes slowly.
Abigail didn't need to change her clothes, she was still in that pajamas from last night. Asher didn't even act like she was speaking to him.
By the time he had changed his clothes and came out, Abigail was already standing at the entrance of the room waiting for him.
"You care about her a lot?" Asher walked gradually and asked her.
Nodding her head, she answered "Of course! If something terrible happens to her, I will never forgive myself."
Asher returned Abigail's sentence with a clear and cold voice, "Don't worry, her life will not be in danger."
"Glad to see you have a big heart." As soon as the words left her mouth, Abigail trotted straight downstairs because she saw that Rebecca was lying on the sofa in the living room.
Although Rebecca and her were enemies, she didn't care, a human life was at stake, she couldn't be as calm as Asher.
Abigail found one of the maids helping Rebecca dress her wound. Abigail got closer to take a look and realized why Asher could be so calm.
The wound on Rebecca's wrist was so small that it didn't even need stitches, just a little cut.
Abigail suspected that it was a vein cut with one of those tiny blades. When Rebecca saw her, she directly sat up from the sofa.
"Bitch, I'm going to kill you..."
Abigail didn't battle words with Rebecca, she couldn't because of the state she was in.
After seeing Asher, Rebecca fell silent before lying back on the sofa again.
Abigail lightly tugged on the Asher's clothes, her voice was smooth and clear, "Seems you know your sister very well! She is just making a show, she did not really try to commit suicide."
Asher sighed, nodding her head. He sat down on the sofa opposite to Rebecca, and Abigail hurriedly followed suit. She was seated on the couch, right next to Asher.
Rebecca wouldn't really didn't try to commit suicide, infact she was just faking it. She was a real drama queen.
"Bitch, you stay away from Asher, you are simply insulting Asher by sitting with him." Rebecca yelled.
Abigail glared at Rebecca tauntingly, she reached out to hold Asher's arm to further provoke her.
Rebecca was so angry that she jerked on the sofa, pushing away the maid dressing her small cut.
"Apologize." Asher's short words made both Rebecca and Abigail freeze.
Abigail didn't expect that after Rebecca had cut herself, Asher still wanted her to apologize.
He wasn't wrong though, Rebecca needed to apologize. But Abigail didn't dare to add fuel to the fire, fearing that Asher would act more aggressively.
"I am not going to apologize to her, I am not wrong." Rebecca said loudly in rage.
"Abigail, get out of my sight, you are not even worthy to sit in our midst," Rebecca rushed to Abigail, and held her by the hand and tried pulling her up with her supposedly wounded hand.
Immediately, Asher pulled Abigail away from Rebecca. "I'll say it one last time, apologize or you won't be able to participate in the first female group's audition."
The first female group's audition? Abigail sized up Rebecca from top to bottom.
It was incredible, the fifth princess of the Reed family was actually going to participate in the female group's talent show which was a lot of work.
"Asher, are you actually threatening me for this trash,"
Abigail quickly stood up in anger, and interrupted Rebecca, "Is it wrong for your brother to ask you to apologize to me?"
Rebecca shivered with anger, "Abigail, you—"
"You what? Apologize to me or you won't participate in the talent show, if your brother doesn't help, you won't be selected with how you look."
On the side, Asher picked up the coffee on the table and drank it elegantly, watching the show.
Rebecca began to laugh, "How do I look? Abigail, don't you even look at yourself in the mirror? You're as fat as a pig."
Abigail shrugged indifferently, "But I'm not the one participating in the first female group's audition, apologize quickly, or better still compensate me for mental damages you inflicted on me."
Abigail sat down next to Asher, "Asher, are you hearing how this gold-digger is talking to me?"
Asher was quiet. Abigail shuffled on her seat next to Asher and she said to Rebecca, "Just apologize, this way you'll have more incentive to participate in the girl group auditions and your odds of debuting will be a little higher."
"Abigail—" Rebecca paused halfway, groaning in frustration. "You know what, I am late for practice," she said, racing out of the house.
Looking at Rebecca running faster than a rabbit, Abigail swallowed hard. "Your sister is impossible,"
"Say it! How much do you want for the mental damage?" Asher turned to her seriously. He wanted to compensate her.
Abigail hurriedly waved her hand at Asher, "No need, I'm going out to exercise. The only way you can compensate me is by leaving me alone with my weight loss plan" She said, exiting the house.
When Abigail returned from exercising, Asher had already gone to the company. She showered and later in the afternoon, she went out to meet her friend Mia. She was waiting for her in the cafe. Abigail went in and took her seat opposite Mia's.
She leaned on the table and looked Mia straight in the eyes. "I know everything, Mia…."
