Chapter 8

Asher leaned closer to her, noticing the curiosity imprinted in her eyes. "You are capable of warming the sheets just fine during winter" Asher said in a serious manner.
Abigail blinked, it took her a full quarter-second to understand his words. So that was the only virtue she possessed. Somehow, she felt bad.
"Thank you Mr. Reed," She smiled peevishly, dropping her eyes on Mr Reed hands on her waist. "Too bad it's summer now, you can let go of me." She smiled sarcastically.
Asher was calm, staring at her, "It's much safer for you this way. After all, I had only left you for a second, and you fainted in the waiting room."
"That was a different case, Mr Reed, I had been hit by Emma that's why I fainted." She inhaled deeply, "But seriously, if you don't let go of me, I might faint again because I can hardly breathe" Abigail really missed her once slender and perfect figure.
After hearing her words, Asher didn't let her go, but pulled away just a little so she could breathe properly.
"Thank you. Now good night, my head hurts badly, and like the doctor said, I need to rest. Good night" She turned to her side, pulling the sheets over her.
Abigail fell asleep, when she woke up the next morning, the sun was barely up, and Asher wasn't beside her. Just then he walked out from the bathroom, wearing workout clothes. "Mr Reed, are you going to exercise?" She asked him. "Hmmm" Asher nodded, grabbing a face towel. Abigail jumped on her feet. "Please, wait for me. I'll change quickly" She hurried past him, Asher grabbed her arm, pulling her back.
"Why are you changing your clothes?"
"I'm coming with you."
Asher was surprised. "Are you sure?"
She nodded. "Of course. Just wait for me alright. I will be out quickly."She pulled from his grip, racing into the bathroom.
By the time she was out, Asher had left the room. She went to her wardrobe, looking for what to wear. But everything that was hung there was not only unfathomable, but not her type. In Abigail's words, they were bland and ugly. How could she have worn these? Even though she had turned fat, her past self could have done better to keep up with the latest trend. The only clothes that were in the wardrobe were either black and gray. She never liked dull colors, it surprised her to the core. She folded her hands on her chest.
Abigail Crawford, there's a lot of work needed to be done.
Abigail found a pair of workout clothes at the top of the wardrobe, it obviously was new, and we're still in its leather bag. It was her size, so she decided to wear it instead.
She went downstairs to find Asher waiting at the patio. To her surprise, they were both wearing a couple workout clothes, both in black. He looked incredibly handsome in the clothes, it showed a detailed outline of his broad shoulders, and defined abs, looking dead handsome.
Abigail forced her eyes away, falling in her fat body, she frowned. She hated what she had become, and was determined to return back to her once perfect figure. It was a promise she made to herself.
By the time she shook from her thoughts, she found Asher's eyes on her, but he didn't make any comment.
"Shall we?" She walked to him, and they both left the mansion.
Abigail was stunned once she stepped out of the mansion. She had been impressed by the interior design of the mansion, but the outside was magnificent. Her mouth was agape as she took in the beautiful sight before her. "Your place is beautiful, Mr Reed''
She hurried up to meet Asher, and they began jogging.
Five minutes later, Abigail was panting hard, it hadn't been long since Asher and her began exercising but it seemed like it had been ages long. What kind of body was hers? She was tired, and frustrated but she kept on running. She couldn't stop now, she couldn't afford to. She must return to the Abigail she once was.
She looked up at Asher who was farther away from her, she sped up, pushing herself.
Her legs couldn't go any further, it collapsed on the floor without warning, and Abigail fell.
Bang!
She released a loud, deafening cry from her lips. Her body had completely betrayed her. Her loud cry made Asher hurry to her.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
She didn't look up at him. "I think I might have bruised my skin"
Asher sighed, sending his large hand to her.
She looked up at him. "Thanks, but I can get up by myself" She got up from the ground, dusting the lazy dust off her body.
She had injured her leg, but she continued to run again.
Asher grabbed her, halting her. "Are you crazy Abigail?"
Abigail felt really exhausted, like she would faint at any moment. She held unto Asher for support, trying to calm her rapid breathing.
It took a while before her breathing became normal. She looked at him with a sincere gaze. "I just lost my memory, Mr Reed, I am not crazy"
"You've never exercised with me before"
Whenever Asher exercised, Abigail was always in bed sleeping, even when he returned, she would still be asleep, so what changed.
Abigail said loudly, "I hate the way I look, I could barely recognize myself. I want to slim back, I want to be the Abigail I once was" She counted her words.
Asher didn't utter a word, she was starting to notice he was one with little words, but his eyes seemed to always regard her. She continued her exercise, even when he received an urgent call from the office and left for work, Abigail continued her exercise.
It was after two hours she decided to rest for the day. She showered quickly and got dressed, racing to the main living room. She searched for the landline, but couldn't find it.
"Mrs Melissa, where can I find the landline, my phone is broken and I need to make some calls" She asked the housekeeper.
Mrs Melissa directed her to Mr Reed's office.
Without hesitation, Abigail found her way to Asher's office. She gripped the landline on the table, plopping on the chair.
She released a deep sigh, punching in some numbers. It is time to get some answers, Abigail.
