CHAPTER 37

MORNING
Casabella's POV
I've got to find a way of contacting godfather in one way or the other. I wish I had a personal phone of my own, It would have been a simple way to get through to him.
I can't make use of the personal telephone because Lora and Annie are around. There has got to be a way to get to him even if it's sending a test message to him. I must look for a way before it becomes too late.
"Dear god! I need help to save those little angels. Please, make a way for me to reach out to my godfather." I prayed silently and trooped out of my room.
I was heading downstairs when an idea came up to me to make use of Annie's phone. But getting it from her just like that isn't going to happen except she isn't with the phone at the moment.
I strolled towards her room and placed my ear on her door to hear any sound and luckily I heard the splashing of water.
I guess she's taking a shower. This is my only chance to make use of her phone to send a test to Mr Henry or I would get another opportunity.
I quietly opened the door and walked in, roaming my eyes in search of her phone until it caught my attention on the night stand close to her bed.
I pray she doesn't come out until I'm done sending the message to him.
I took the phone and turned it on with no security on the phone. Without wasting any minute I slide to the message box and begin to type.
"Good morning godfather. It's Casabella. I need your help pretty badly. Can you meet me at my parent's grave by 10 o'clock? I'll be waiting for you."
After sending it, I waited for a few seconds to receive feedback when the sound of water stopped.
"She's done bathing. What should I do?" I wondered and tried to delete the message when a response came in.
"Okay darling. I'll be there." I read and deleted the message and dropped the phone back on the nightstand before quietly exiting the room.
I sighed in relief after shutting the door and strolled downstairs to make breakfast as usual.
I can't imagine how they will survive alone with someone to do the house chores and cooking for them most especially that little brat, Annie who can't even cook a single dish not to mention doing any cleaning. She's sure going to suffer all that when I am gone.
***
After making the breakfast, I served it in the dining area and called out to them and after a couple of minutes they walked down from their rooms.
"Good morning sir." I greeted my uncle or should I say my evil uncle.
"Morning." He responded and took his seat.
"Good morning." I mumbled to Lora who clearly ignored my greetings and walked over to her usual spot.
"Serve us." He stated and I
"Uncle, I would like to visit my parents grave today."
"Alright. Don't spend much time."
"Okay." I replied and stride back to the kitchen to have my own portion and package the extra I made for the three orphans.
I packed the food and put it in a basket and closed it up with a towel and placed a bouquet of flowers from the garden on it so as not to get caught by Lora.
I walked out of the kitchen with the basket in my hand and trooped to my room to take my bath and dress up.
**
"I'll be leaving now." I said to Lora who was watching a movie with Annie in the living room.
"Who cares anyway?" Annie grumbled with a frown.
"I am not your mother so why tell me?" She lash out while I kept quiet and walked out of the house with the basket in my hand.
I got outside and took the road by my left that leads to the grave and a few walks from those kids' usual spot they beg for aims.
After walking for some minutes, I saw them from a distance and called out to them, waving my hand.
"Hey! It's pretty aunty." The chubby little boy among them, about the age of six uttered and rushed towards me.
"Hey Michael. How are you?" I dropped the basket on the floor and picked him up.
"Good morning Aunt Bella."
"Good morning. How was your night?" I asked him as Miriam and Joe joined us.
"Good morning Aunt Cassy." Miriam, the oldest among them, greeted.
"Morning Miriam."
"Good morning pretty aunt." Joe, who is two years older than Michael and four years younger than Miriam uttered.
He's the quiet one among them and the one who insisted on calling me 'pretty aunt'. They're really lovely kids who need real care and affection just like I ever wanted after losing my parents but I can still handle mine unlike them. They're so young to experience so much pain.
I need to help them before my uncle gets to them. I know godfather will find a better place for them so they won't have to be staying on the streets.
"Kids,I got you guys food but I have somewhere we need to go first, okay!"
"Okay, Miss Bella." Micheal answered while Joe and Miriam nod in agreement.
Mark's POV
The incident of yesterday kept clouding my mind who the devil's eye really is and what I have done to him.
I have a feeling he's someone I know but who could it be? I know pretty well, it's someone close to me but who? It clearly can't be Alex because I know every crook and hook about him and he's not some to do evil towards me or even think of killing Rosy, the woman who he loves.
And as for Leo and Jonas, they can't betray me because I was the one who saved them at the brink of death and ever since then I have been looking after them.
But if it isn't someone close to me, it definitely will be a business rival because I have tons of them but there has got to be one particularly whose hatred would be strong to even try to get me.
I switched off the water and picked-up a towel and tied it around my waist before walking out of the bathroom as the drops of water kept dripping off my body.
"What took you forever to get out of the shower?" Alex asked, standing at the door.
"I'm not in the mood, Alex."
"Come on man. What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing." I answered and took an extra towel on the bed cleaning off the drops of water on my body.
I can't tell him anything about the attack until I'm sure everything is under control. I'll also have to make him extend the proposal stuff in a restaurant and organise it here in the mansion.
"Something is off about you? Do you want to tell what the attack yesterday was all about?"
"Okay, I will tell you." I cleared my throat thinking of what to tell him.
"I'm waiting buddy."
"The men that attacked us are Charles's men." I lied.
"How and why? Haven't you killed Charles already?"
"I have, man. You do ask a lot of questions. You don't have to worry about anything. Leo and Jonas along with the bodyguards took care of it."
"Are you sure man?"
"Yes, I am. I want you and Rosy to be safe from all these
"What do you mean? You know we're in this together. Why are you excluding me? I can't allow you to take all the burden by yourself."
"Listen Alex. I'm sorry but you have got to listen to me. I need you to look after Rosy. You both are my everything and I don't want any harm to come over you both."
"I hate the fact that you're doing this all shit alone without my help but don't worry about Rosy, I won't let anything happen to my woman. I'll protect her from anything with my life."
"I need to ask a request from you."
"Anything bro."
"About the proposal. Why not leave the side of the restaurant and have it here."
"That's a good idea. I never thought about that."
"I bet you, it will be a perfect proposal."
"Thanks man. I'm really anxious. Her birthday is in a week's time."
"You'll be fine bro. We're just going to be a little group with you, Rosy, the servants, guards and I. We don't need to invite a lot of crowd."
"That's right, buddy. Get dressed and come downstairs for breakfast." He mentioned and opened the door.
"Sure, I'll join you guys soon." I answered and sauntered to my dressing room.
After dressing in a jeans and black t-shirt, I came out and brushed my curvy black hair before spraying my perfume and was heading out when all of sudden the thought of Casabella came rushing to me.
I don't know why I keep thinking about her and really want to know how she's doing. I wish I could keep seeing her face every single day. Seeing her always makes me feel at ease with myself. She has really done something to me that I'm afraid to say the words I feel right in my heart.
I'll remind Leo to keep an eye on her and keep me posted on everything even if it means sending someone into the house.
