CHAPTER 82

Betty’s POV
Seeing the shocking looks in his eyes made me remember those moments we shared together.
I can’t believe he has become more handsome and manly than before.
“Betty! It’s really you.” He stammered.
“Yes Mark. You really have changed a lot in the last few years.”
“Same with you. How have you been doing and how did you know I am here in London?”
“I came for a business with your company and found out you’ve moved here.” I answered with a warm smile.
I’ve really missed him so much. His cologne has changed in the last few years.
“That’s right, we moved here months ago due to some personal reasons. It’s really nice to see you again.”
“Me too, Mark. I’ve really missed you a lot. I had many things on my mind while I left without saying goodbye to you. I’m really sorry for that but I’m finally back now.”
“It’s alright Betty. I’ve to go now but I hope we can get to see each other again.” He mentioned which made me feel bad and tried to convince him to give in.
“Come on Mark. I took my time to come check up on you after so many years. The least you could do is have a cup of coffee with me.”
“I wish I could but I can’t but I promise we can schedule it for another day.”
“Please Mark don’t say no to my offer. What happened to the man I love so much?” I pleaded, holding his hand which felt so warm on me.
“Alright.” He gave in which made me smile sweetly.
I will make sure I get into your life once again and this time around I will make sure no one comes in between us
Casabella’s POV
“Mum, I’m hungry.” I screamed, walking down the stairs.
“You’re awake, baby. “
“Yes mum but I’m damn hungry.”
“What would you like to eat then?” She replied, coming into view from the living room.
“I want onion pizza, vanilla ice cream and fresh apples.”
“That’s a lot to take in.” She exclaimed.
“But that’s what I want or won’t I get it?” I pouted my lips as we walked to the living room.
“You will definitely get it, baby. I will tell the maids to get it done but let me get the fresh apples for you.” She explained, and rushed to the kitchen while I took my seat.
I was waiting for her when I heard the sound of the door bell. Who could it be at this time?
“Mum, are you expecting someone?” I yelled.
“No honey. Go check who it is.” She replied as I got up to check who it was.
I opened the door and met Mark standing there but he was looking lost and there was a look I can’t figure out on his face.
"Baby, how are you doing? I'm sorry I took a little longer. I got caught up with something.”
“I’m fine. Your face doesn’t look good. Is everything alright?”
“Yeah, I am fine, baby.” He replied and stepped inside.
“Alright, as you say.” I answered as we both headed to the living room.
“Where is everyone?”
“I don’t know where dad is but mum went to get me some apples.”
“Oh, that’s okay.” He replied.
“Baby, I got something to tell you.” I said, with excitement.
“Tell me.”
“Mum and I went to the hospital and the doctor confirmed that I am three weeks pregnant.”
“That’s great.” He smiled and crushed his lips on mine.
“Erhm… You guys can get a room, you know?” Mum uttered behind us.
“I’m sorry aunt.” Mark apologised.
“Come on darling. I’m just kidding, you both can carry on. Here you go baby.” She smiled, handing the apples to me before she walked away.
“Let's continue what we started.” He smirked.
“Too bad it has to wait because the baby needs it.” I chuckled while taking a bite from one of the apples.
“That’s why I love you the most.” He laughed and pulled me to his body.
***
After having the meals that were prepared by the maids, Mark and I went to my room.
“My love, what name should we give to our son?” He asked, playing with my feet.
“What do you mean son? I want a girl first and a boy after.”
“Alright my love but she will be daddy’s girl not mummy’s girl.”
“She will only stick to me and not you.”
“Let's see about that.” He came up to my body staring right to my face.
“I hope you’re not planning something wild in your head.”
“Well I wasn’t but since you made mention of it, I think I am.” He smirked and moved his face closer to my face.
“I was just saying since mum is around and will definitely know something is fishy.”
“I’m sure your mum won’t mind.” He grinned and slammed our lips together.
Mark’s POV
What could she possibly be doing now and what’s she aiming at? I need to find out because it doesn’t make any sense.
She disappeared the day I introduced her to my dad and ever since then she never called or showed up until today.
I don’t know what her motives might be but I have to tell her I have moved on with my life.
“Hey buddy!” Alex’s voice brought me out of my spacing.
“I’m good Alex.”I replied, stepping inside the living room.
“What’s with the face dude? Your face really looks like shit.” He laughed.
“What’s with my face?” I frowned.
“Your face doesn’t look good. It looks like something is bothering you.”
“Cut the crap, there’s nothing wrong with me.”
“I know there is. Tell me buddy.”
“I have got nothing to say to you. I’m going up to my room.” I stroll towards the stairs.
“Come on man. Talk to me.” He uttered but I didn’t respond and just took the stairs.
+++
“Leo, I need you to do a little digging for me.”
“Who is the person involved, King?”
“It’s my ex-girlfriend, Betty Louis. I want you to find out everything about her in the last five years.”
“No problem, King. It will be done in no time.”
“Keep me posted once you find out.”
“Okay King.”
“That’s all.” I stated and he left.
Not long after Leo left, Alex showed up at the door giving me a suspicious look.
“Shouldn’t you be in bed alright?” I questioned, diverging my attention from him back to my laptop.
“Why are you so concerned about that? Is there something you’re planning to do without my presence?”
“What are you talking about? I’m just concerned about my sister, not you.”
“I know that tone buddy. There is definitely something you’re keeping away from me man and I want you to tell me.”
“Like I said Alex, there is nothing to know about. Just go to bed, okay?”
“Then make me!” He got on my bed and folded his arms.
“What’s all this Alex? Why are you acting like a child for the love of god? I’ve got enough problems to face then to put up with yours?”
“I’m not acting like a child here, Mark. All I want to know is what’s really wrong with you? It’s really not fair, you know Mark. I don’t keep things away from you yet you keep yours away from me.”
“Seriously, you’re a pain in the ass. You do know how to get me talking.”
“Yeah, I know buddy. Get talking already.” He smirked.
“I met Betty today at the office. She happens to be working for one of the companies that want to sign a deal with the company.” I uttered, dropping the laptop aside.
“What do you mean? Is it the same Betty you talked about or another person?”
“Do I know another person bearing that name, you dickhead?”
“Well, I’m just shocked she’s back. What’s her real purpose for showing up now apart from representing her company?”
“That’s what I don’t know and want to find out. I can’t even open up to tell Casabella about her. I really can’t tell how she will take the news.”
“Nothing is going to go wrong buddy as long as you keep Betty out of your life.”
“That’s what I will do. I know how Betty can be cony-catching at times.”
“Everything will work out fine as long as you tell Betty you have moved on with your life.”
“Yeah, we will meet tomorrow at the company.”
“I just hope she doesn’t do anything stupid once you tell her you have moved on.”
“I won’t let that happen because I will do everything I can to see that she doesn’t get close to Casabella.”
“Enough of Betty talks already. Why didn't my sister in law come with you?”
“You’re really impossible, man.” I chuckled as we heard a knock on the door.
“What is it?” I inquired.
“It’s me, brother.” Rosy replied.
What could Rosy be doing awake by this time? I just hope she didn’t listen to our conversion.
“I thought you said she was sleeping?” I whispered to Alex.
“Yeah man. I left her sleeping on the bed.” He replied.
“You better pray she didn’t listen to our conversion or I will roast you. Come in sis.” I gave in as she walked in, holding a glass cup in her hand.
“Hey baby. I thought you were sleeping?” He tried to start up a conversion.
“I wasn’t. Brother, did I hear you talking about Betty, your ex-girlfriend?”
“Yes Rosy. You really shouldn’t listen to other people's conversion.”
“I’m sorry brother. I didn’t mean it but if she’s really back then a great storm is coming.” She said and rushed out of the room.
What the hell was that? What did she really mean by those words?
