CHAPTER 38
Madison's POV
I was so engrossed working on my laptop and didn't know Mary walked in until she announced her presence.
"Maddy, you got a present from an unknown person." She said, holding on a bouquet of marigold flowers with a card inside.
"Who could it be?"
"I don't know, maybe a crush or something." She laughed.
"Let me have it." I collected them and opened the card.
"I received your message exactly the way you said. I want you to know you've just made a very big mistake by rejecting my big offer and I promise you, I'll get the land by all means. I hope you enjoy your days now while you still can. Ronald Dickson."
"He has got to be kidding me? How dare he keep threatening me over my own personal assets. I just don't understand these people!"
"Let me have a look." She requested and I handed over the card to her, flinging the flowers in anger.
"Oh no! I don't feel good about this man. He's really determined to get the land by all means. Babe,I suggest you let go of the land."
"That won't be possible. If I do so, it will only make him continue acquiring people's properties. I won't stop at nothing, I must stand up to him even if no one has ever tried it with him."
"But Maddy, these same people caused an accident for you three good times, shouldn't that make you give up already. What would happen to your parents when these people succeed with their evil desire? I'm really begging you to end this with them for once and leave your life peacefully." She begged with tears dropping off her face.
"You're forgetting something Mary. Death is inevitable and can't be avoided so why should I be afraid to die for a noble cause, tell me? After all, it is my property, what right does he have to take what doesn't belong to him."
"Maddy! I'm really scared. Why don't you tell your parents about it? I'm sure they'll find a means to fight this battle for you."
"They're both enjoying their lives in New York, I wouldn't want them to feel I can't handle things that come my way. I really don't want to get anyone involved and make them get hurt."
"Babe!"
"My mind is made up, Mary. I want to be left alone, please."
"Okay but please have a rethink about it. I'm always here if you need some advice." She admitted and I nod in reply as she strolled out of the office.
You'll just be fine, Maddy! You can handle this situation without involving the people you love in it.
After a while, I focused back on the laptop when the buzzing sound of my phone disputed my attention.
I took a glimpse at the caller to see it was Mark calling. I totally forgot about the party he said was going to take place.
"Hello Mark"
"Hello Madison. I hope I'm not disturbing you at this hour of the day?"
"Of course not"
"That's good to hear. Concerning the business party I talked about, it's been cancelled due to some reasons. I'm sorry that I am Just telling you late."
"Oh... it's okay. I almost forgot about it."
"It's alright. I guess we'll meet some other time."
"I hope so too. Bye." I answered and dropped the call.
I don't have much faith in dealing with these people alone and I can't just involve him in my problem. It's going to sound somehow, however, if I don't survive it, I know someone will overthrow them.
Casabella's POV
We finally reached the cemetery and saw a black Mercedes Benz car packed at the entrance.
On approaching the car, Mr Henry walked out of the car and looked towards my direction and waved to me as I urged the kids towards him.
"Good morning godfather." I beamed.
"Good morning darling."
"Good morning uncle." Miriam, Joe and Michael greeted him at the same time.
"Good morning darlings."
"How have you been doing?" He inquired.
"I'm good. I need your help pretty badly."
"Is it so serious? Tell me and I'll take care of it."
"It's about these kids. I can't talk in their presence." I whispered.
"Oh... I get it. Hey kiddos, I want to have a word with your aunt here. Can you guys wait inside the car for us?" He uttered politely to them and opened the door of the car.
"Okay uncle." Miriam obeyed and got in and they followed her.
"Take this guys. The meals are all packed for each one of you." I gave the basket to Miriam and took the flower away.
"Thanks aunt Bella." She said.
"You're welcome guys. Wait here for us, we'll be back."
"Okay." Joe replied while Mr Henry shut the door as we both made our way inside the cemetery with the flowers in my hand.
"So how did the revenge go? Did you get back at them?"
"Yes, I did. Too bad, it's just the first revenge."
"To be frank with you. I really don't want you staying back just to get back at Lora and Annie now when the time to get back your properties will be your revenge moment."
"Godfather, I just want to make them feel the way I feel all these years going through pain, suffering and tears. They really made my life a living hell so I must get back at them in any way possible to feel at peace with myself."
"I do feel your pain and I'm sorry for saying that to you. I'm only after your well being as your godfather."
"I really appreciate it, godfather but once I'm done with the last one, I promise to leave the house."
I dropped the flowers on each of their graves and smiled lightly.
"I miss you both!" I mouthed.
"They miss you too, darling. Can you tell me who those kids are?"
"They're actually the reason why I need your help."
"What exactly happened?"
" Uhm...well, the thing is my uncle is trying to blackmail me into getting married to one of his friend's sons."
" What the hell did you just say?"
"That's right. I found those kids one week ago and thought of helping them but my uncle found out about it. And right now he's using force to get me into an arranged marriage or have the kids killed."
"That's it, darling. You're leaving that house today and it's final."
"Wait godfather. I know you're so pissed off right now but I promise I won't make him succeed with his plans. That's why I had to ask you for help to keep those kids safe and far away from him. I don't want to be any source of bad luck to anyone, please help me out on this, just this once godfather."
"I definitely will help you even if you didn't ask but I'm just not happy with your decision of still staying with that evil man, you call an uncle."
"Godfather, trust me. I've got everything under control. Once I'm sure the kids are safe with you. I'll know how to finish things with Lora and Annie, then come straight up to you."
"I'll protect the kids, be rest assured, no harm will come to them but you have to promise me, you won't stay so long with them."
"Godfather, I promise I won't. Once I carry out the last revenge, I'll be out of there and make sure to contact you."
"Alright my love. But just in case you don't find a means to call me, you can come to this address. My home is always open to you anytime." He stated and handed over a card with his name, Henry Peterson along with his home address.
"Okay godfather. Thank you so much."
"You're very much welcome darling. I'll find a means to make that bloody Andrew pay for everything he has done to you. He has an innocent face yet have the darkness of all heart just like the devil."
"That's about us, humans. We are filled with hatred, jealousy and envy towards each other."
"Well, there are some who chose to follow that path like Andrew and his concubines as family." He gritted his teeth.
"I guess that's true but it sounds funny to me how you called concubines."
"They really deserve it. If I ever see Lora anywhere I'll make sure I give her a piece of my mind but I won't act like I know how they have been treating you."
"Thanks godfather."
"Andrew's end is near once you decide to strike."
"Totally and I won't spare any of them."
"Exactly! They have got to be punished."
"Yeah. Let's head back now."
"Of course. Let go." He responded and we headed out of the cemetery.
"Are you guys done with your breakfast?"
"Yes Aunt Bella." Micheal beamed with a smile.
"That's good of you! I have something I want to tell you guys."
"We're listening, pretty aunt." Joe replied.
"This uncle, here will look after you guys. Trust me, he's a good man."
"Is that true, uncle?"
"Yes son. I'll take you guys to my home and take good care of you all."
"Do we have to eat anything?" Joe inquired.
"Of course. You can have anything you want and I'll get you guys clothes, toys and we're going to have so much fun together."
"Really!" Micheal exclaimed.
"Yes, son."
"I will go with you, uncle."
"Me too." Joe gushed.
"Well, since they both want to go, I don't have any choice either and I believe Aunt Bella won't do anything to harm us." Miriam admitted.
"Awwww Miriam! Come here." I hugged her to myself and urged Joe and Michael to join.
"I love you kids so much."
"We love you too."
