CHAPTER 67

Mark’s POV
“Congratulations Mark. We finally did it.” Madison uttered, hugging me the moment we stepped outside the conference room.
“Yeah, we did. It wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for you.” I admitted as we pulled away from the hug.
“I really didn’t do much.” She insisted, blushing.
“Of course you did. You really deserve a treat.” I cupped her cheeks staring into her ocean blue eyes.
“You don’t have to Mark and besides, we both worked it together as a team.”
“I know about that but all the credits go to you and that’s final.”
“Okay but that’s because you’re insisting on it.” She pouted her lips as we both chuckled.
“You know I do win on that. How about lunch at a restaurant around? You will definitely love the restaurant when you see it.”
“Sounds good to me and since you said it close by, why don’t we take a walk down there? It’s going to be fun?”
“Okay. Anything you say ma’am.” I joked as she hit me lightly on the shoulder.
“You’re really a funny man.”
“That’s because you were the one who brought out that part of me in the last two weeks.”
“I’m glad I did that.” She smiled as I took her hand in mine.
“Let go." I urged her as we walked over to the elevator.
Casabella’s POV
We walked outside the company holding hands together as he instructed his bodyguards to stay behind.
"The weather looks gloomy. I'm sure it's going to rain soon." I uttered, staring at the cloud as we troop out of the company.
"I can see it as well but it should come after our treat. I don't want anything to ruin it."
"You never can say." I chuckled as we mixed with the crowd.
After a little more walk, we stopped at a fancy restaurant named POOPIES.
“You like it?”
“This place is really beautiful.”
“You haven’t tasted their dishes, it's high class.”
“Really?”
“Why don’t we go in so you can try it yourself?”
“If your words are correct, I am sure going to give you a surprise as well.”
“I bet you will be shocked then.” He challenged me as we both walked towards the restaurant.
The moment we got inside about three to four waitresses welcomed Mark and I and arranged for a VIP table for us and took our orders.
The restaurant was top class with extremely beautiful interiors and a few people who looked like high class elites.
“How long have you known here?” I asked.
“I guess three to four years. Each time I am here for a business deal, I make sure to try out their meal here.”
“Hmmm… that’s really a lot of years.”
“Yeah and their meal never seems to change that’s why their dishes are top class to me.”
I was about to respond when the three waiters showed up with the dishes.
“Enjoy your meal sir, ma’am.” They choired and left.
“Here we go ma’am. I bet you will want more.” He grinned.
“Alright, let's see if you are right about it.” I dared him and picked up the fork and tried out the fish and chips
“Oh my God Mark! This is so delicious!” I moaned out.
“I told you. Try out the spaghetti and meatballs as well.” He urged me as I took a meatball.
“Mark, this is the best I have ever tried out. Gosh! I totally love this!” I moaned again, taking another meatball into my mouth.
“This is really good!” I added and took a bit of fish.
“You can have as much as you want.” He chuckled, staring at me.
“Why are you not eating?”
“I will. I just love watching the way you eat.” He chuckled.
“Yeah, very funny.” I mouthed and continued eating while he kept laughing.
Mark’s POV
“Oh gosh! I’m so full.” She moaned with her sweet voice like a melody.
“That’s because you enjoyed the meal.” I smiled.
“It was worth it. I really had the best treat ever. Thank you so much.”
“You’re welcome. Since you enjoyed the meal, what do you plan on doing as a surprise?”
“Remember, it’s a surprise so I can’t tell you.”
“Alright, I give up. Let go then.”
We walked out of the restaurant holding hands to see the sky completely dark unlike before and the high wave of breeze.
“I’m feeling a bit cold.” She whispered holding on to me tightly which made me pull my coat and wore it on her.
“How about now?” I asked.
“I feel a bit better.” She replied and rested her head on my shoulder.
Her body felt so warm and enticing around me and her fragrance alone was making me feel aroused and tempted to hold her around my body.
We kept walking slowly holding each other when all of a sudden we began to feel a little droplet of rain before it increased as everyone began running while we kept walking.
I tried to look for a shelter for us but I couldn’t find one as she clanged to my body.
“I’m so cold Mark.” She whispered, hugging me tightly as I hugged her back.
We stood on the spot as I sighted the bodyguards approaching us with the car and parked in front of us.
Five of the men rushed up to us with umbrellas and urged us into the car.
Madison kept holding on to my body as she kept shivering. I shouldn’t have listened to her and endanger her health in this cold weather.
“Take us to the mansion.” I ordered and hugged her tightly.
“You will be fine Madison. I’m sorry for endangering your life.”
“It’s not your fault. I was the one who wanted us to stroll to the restaurant so don’t blame yourself.” She stammered.
“It’s my fault. You don’t have to say anything again, okay. You will be fine, I promise.” I assured her and kissed her forehead.
By the time we arrived at the mansion, the rain had stopped a little bit. One of the bodyguards opened up the door for me as I carried Madison in a bridal style as she rested her head on my chest.
I walked inside the living room and found only Alex inside but was shocked to see me.
“What happened bro? What’s wrong with her?” He asked.
“Call the doctor now and have the maids make tea for her.” I instructed.
“Okay.” He responded as I walked up to my room with her.
I gently placed her on my bed and used the duvet to cover her body and tried to leave but she held me back.
“Please, don’t go anywhere.” She whispered and held onto my shirt.
“I wasn’t going anywhere. I can’t and will not leave you, okay?” I assured her and sat close to the bed.
After a couple of minutes, I heard a knock on the door and urged the person in to see it was one of the maids.
“Here’s the tea sir.”
“Drop it on the nightstand.” I stated and urged her to pour out a small quantity in a cup.
She handed the tea to me as I made Madison take the tea to help her feel a little better before the doctor's arrival.
After ensuring she takes a large quantity of the tea, I instructed the maid to get her other female colleagues to help Madison get out of the wet dress.
“The maids want to change your dress. I promise once they’re done, I will be back.”
“Okay.” I answered lightly as I pecked her on the forehead before trooping out of the room.
I walked back to the living room and found Rosy who rushed up to me with a worried expression.
“How’s she doing brother?”
“She’s a little better but the doctor will still have to check up on her.” I replied.
“I was inside the room when Alex told me. I hope she doesn’t fall sick. How are you feeling too?”
“Her health is more important than mine.”
“What really happened brother? How did you both get drained by rain?”
“I finally bagged the contract and decided to take her on a treat to a restaurant close to the company on foot.”
“Oh God! I’m sorry about that brother.” She uttered while I only nodded.
“Please, go change into something warm or you’ll catch a cold.” She added.
“Alright.” I answered and walked to my other room.
After changing into a warm cloth, I head to meet Madison still shivering.
“I’m here Madison.” I announced as she sat up straight and hugged me as her body was all cold.
“I’m still feeling really cold, Mark.” She stammered.
“The doctor is on his way. I’m sorry you have to go through all these because of me.” I admitted, hugging her back.
“Hang on a little bit more.”
If I had known the rain would meet up with us, I would have fixed the treat for another day instead of endangering her health.
I don’t know how to explain the situation to her parents. I just hope the doctor gets here on time.
