CHAPTER 81
Casabella’s POV
“Alright darling. I’ll come pick you up after work.” He uttered.
“Okay. Have a safe trip.” I responded and hugged him before pulling away.
“Bye. I love you.” He pecked me on the lips.
“I love you too.”
I got down from the car and waved at him before heading towards the mansion.
“Good morning ma’am.” The gatekeeper and three other bodyguards greeted me, giving me entrance inside the mansion.
“Good morning. How are you guys doing?”
“We’re good ma’am.” They choired while I smiled and made my way inside.
I’m sure dad and mum will be so happy when I tell them about the good news.
I stepped into the living room and met the five maids cleaning.
“Good morning Miss Casabella.” They uttered in unison.
Everyone is already addressing me with my real name so I won’t have to feel less wanted.
“Good morning.” I replied and took the stairs to check dad and mum in their room.
I stopped in front of the door and slowly opened the door to find them still sleeping on the bed.
I guess they have missed me so much in the past few days I have been staying with Mark. I’ve been giving Mark all the attention, forgetting they’re also very important to me.
They’re the reason why I am still alive today. I hope they can forgive me for acting like I cared less about their feelings and I promise to set things right just like we used to be.
I walked towards them and gently lay in their middle, slowly closing my eyes.
I was slowly drifting off to sleep when I heard dad chuckled and placed a wet kiss on my forehead.
“Good morning dad.” I uttered, opening my eyes.
“Good morning princess. When did you get here?” I smiled.
“I arrived not quite long.”
“Is that so? Why didn’t you tell us you were coming?”
“I wanted to surprise you and mum.” I replied as I felt a gentle hand smoothing my forehead.
“You decided to show up today, right? I’m really angry with you.”
“I’m really sorry mum. I didn’t mean to keep such distance away from you both but I’m ready to put things right.”
“Do you promise?”
“Yes mum. I promise.”
“Okay baby. How’s Mark doing as well as Rosy and Alex?”
“They’re doing great, mum. How have you both been doing?”
“Your dad and I are fine, baby. So tell me, how is my baby doing?”
“I’m fine mum. Mark is really taking good care of me.”
“I can see it in your face.” She chuckled.
“Really?”
“Yes princess, you’re really glowing.” Dad admitted.
“Awwwn… I feel so happy. I’ve good news to tell you guys.” I croaked sitting up straight while they joined me.
“What good news, baby? Has your wedding date been fixed?”
“We’re curious to know, princess. Tell us?”
“I hope you guys won’t get mad at me?”
“Why would we do that to you? Just tell us the good news already?” Mum snickered.
“I’m pregnant and Mark accepted it.”
“How and when did all that happen between you two?” Dad stammered.
“Honey, don’t get mad at her. Moreover, they’re adults and can’t do without cuddling with each other.” Mum uttered.
“I’m not angry, sweetheart. I’m just surprised. I’m so happy for you princess.” He stated and pulled me into a hug.
“Congratulations, my baby. I’m so happy I will be a grandma soon.”
“Thank you mum.” I replied and hugged her as well.
“I know Mark is a man the moment I set my eyes on him. I’m proud of him.” Dad uttered with confidence.
“He’s indeed a good man and will surely make our baby happy. How old is the pregnancy?” She asked.
“I don’t know yet mum. I just conducted the urine test and haven’t thought about going to confirm it in the hospital.”
“No problem. I’ll take you to the hospital myself to conduct the test.”
“Thanks mum.” I smiled.
“You’re welcome baby.”
+++
After having breakfast, mum and I left for the hospital to conduct the pregnancy test.
We arrived at St Thomas’ Hospital, which is one of the famous hospitals in London.
We walked inside the hospital and proceeded to the reception.
“Good morning Mrs Williams. Good morning ma’am.” A skinny lady uttered at the reception.
It seems she knows mum pretty well to have addressed her in a mannerly way.
“Good morning Joy. Is Doctor Edwin in his office?” Mum asked.
“Yes Mrs Williams.”
“Okay. Thank you darling. Let go baby.” She held me by the hand as we took the escalator.
We stopped on the first floor as mum took us to a narrow path that leads to another dimension before we stopped in front of a door with a bold name of the doctor on the door.
Mum knocked on the door as we heard a faint approval to come in.
“What a pleasant surprise, Daisy.” The doctor who has grey hair called mum by her name.
“The pleasure is all mine, Edwin. It’s so good to see you. How are you doing?” Mum replied with a smile and hugged him.
“I’m doing great, Daisy. How is Sean doing?”
“He’s fine, Edwin. Thank you.”
“Who do we have here? How are you doing, Madison?” He asked, smiling and pulled me into a hug.
“I’m fine sir.” I answered and pulled away from the hug.
“Please, have your seats.” He urged us.
“Thank you Edwin.”
“You’re welcome Daisy. What brings you to the hospital? Are you not feeling well?”
“I’m absolutely fine, Edwin. I want you to conduct a pregnancy test for her.” She replied, holding my hand.
“Oh, you should have just called me over the phone instead of coming all the way down here.”
“I just felt like it.” She smiled.
“Okay. Shall we go to the laboratory to take your blood sample, dear?” He announced.
“Go with him, baby. You will be fine.” She assured me as I got on my feet and walked out of the office with him leaving her behind.
**
After they took my blood sample, I headed back to the office and met mum on a call with dad.
“We will be home soon honey. Bye.” She said and ended the call.
“Your dad was asking after you.”
“Oh…” I mouthed and joined her on the seat.
“Are you okay baby?”
“I’m fine mum. I’m just a little tired and sleepy at the same time.”
“It’s one of the symptoms of pregnancy. Once the result is out, we’ll be on our way, okay.”
“Okay mum.” I answered and rested my head on her shoulders.
Minutes later, the doctor walked into the office holding an envelope in his hand.
“What’s the result, Edwin?” Mum asked.
“Congratulations Daisy. She’s three weeks pregnant.” He revealed and handed the envelope to her.
“Thank you so much Edwin.”
“You’re welcome Daisy. One more thing she needs to be mindful of is what she eats. She needs a lot of vegetables and fruits and also she should eat less fried food.”
“Okay. I’ll take note of that.”
“Thank you sir.” I uttered, showing gratitude to him.
“You’re welcome dear. Try to take good rest and also have constant sex with your partner. It will make the baby strong and fit.”
“Okay.” I replied with shyness.
“Thank you once more Edwin.” Mum thanked him once more and urged me up before we made our way out of the office.
Mark’s POV
I’m so happy I am going to be a father soon. It's really an endless joy to have such a beautiful woman like Casabella who is a bundle of happiness in my life.
I need to limit all my time for her and our unborn baby and also make her feel less lonely without me.
I can’t tell Alex to handle the company when he just got the same good news from Rosy. I’m so glad the two of us are going to be a father and we have a lot of responsibility ahead of us.
I think the best option will be working from him while Thomas will handle any related work at the office. I need to inform him about it and make sure he informs the board members as well.
I was about to call him using the telephone when my phone rang.
I checked the caller to see it was Mr Williams calling and picked the call.
“Hello sir. Good afternoon.”
“Good afternoon son. How are you doing?”
“I’m good sir. It’s really unusual of you calling me by this time. Is everything alright?”
“Everything is good son. Princess, told us about the good news. I’m so proud of you for taking the responsibility.” He stated, which made me feel proud of myself.
“Thank you sir. How is she doing?”
“She’s taking a rest in her room.”
“Alright sir. I’ll check up on her soon.”
“Okay, see you soon, son.” He responded and disconnected the call.
I round up the rest of the files I will work on and put them inside my laptop back before calling Thomas on the telephone to meet me in the office.
Few minutes later, I heard a knock and told him to come in.
"I'm here sir." He announced.
"Thomas, from today, I'll be working from home. You will be managing the company but if any important issue comes up, you can inform me about it."
"Okay sir."
"Good. Take my bag to the car." I ordered, handing the laptop bag to him.
After checking out I didn't leave any important documents behind for the last time, I trooped out of the office.
I got out of the elevator about leaving the company when I saw some of the staff at the entrance. What are they all doing at the entrance or what's going on?
"What's going on?" I bellowed as they all turned towards me as my eyes came in contact with a lady, who isn't just a stranger but my ex girlfriend, Betty.
"Hello Mark. Long time, no see." She smiled, walking up to me.
How is it possible she's here? I thought she disappeared years ago.
