CHAPTER 47

Casabella’s POV
I tried to take the series of wires off my body when the door was pushed open as an elderly man and a woman who seemed like his wife along with a lady and a man dressed in black walked in.
They were all looking intensely at me like I did something or did they know me from someone.
“You’re finally awake dear. How are you feeling?” The elderly woman asked me.
“I’m okay but how did I get here?” I answered with a question.
“My husband actually bumped into you with our car. I’m Daisy Williams and this is my husband, Sean Williams and here with us is our bodyguard, Norman and personal assistant, Mary.” She explained.
“I see,” I mouthed with a pause and added, “For how long have I been here?”
“You need to rest a little more like the doctor said. You’re still yet to heal.” The older man uttered.
“I’m really okay. Thank you for saving me but I have to go somewhere.” I stated and tried to remove the wires off my body when the man’s words stopped.
“We have no problem if you want to leave but there’s something we need to tell you. It’s about your face.”
“Oh no, I totally forgot about my face. I’m sure I look like a monster with a half burnt face.” I thought and quickly covered my face with my palms but was more than shocked when I didn’t feel any burnt layer on my face.
“What happened to my burnt face and how is it back to normal?” I conceited and removed my hands from my face, staring at them as the woman approached me on the bed with a smile.
“You don’t need to hide your face anymore because we already gave you a new one.” The woman said.
“Yes dear. We gave you this face to save your life.” The man added.
“How’s that possible and why did you guys have to do that to me?” I vented in anger.
“It was the only way, my child or you could have lost your life.” The woman cried out in tears.
“It’s alright, darling. Come here.” The man walked up to her and hugged her to himself.
“Norman, get Dr Edward.” He urged the bodyguard who then walked out.
I kept quiet, staring at them, feeling bad for making the woman cry.
“I’m really sorry madam. I didn’t mean to yell that way.” I shuddered in guilt.
“It's okay child, I understand. I know how it feels to change your face without your consent.” She responded sniffling.
“Yeah.” I mumbled as the doctor walked in with two nurses and the bodyguard.
“She’s finally awake. How are you feeling?” The doctor asked and trooped towards me.
“I feel okay.”
“That’s wonderful. Where’s the mirror?” He asked one of the nurses who handed the mirror to him and handed it straight to me and urged me to check my new looks.
I took a glimpse of my reflection in the mirror to see an entirely different person.
I look totally different in the face except that I am still the same me. I’m Casabella and never will I forget that even if they change my appearance. It’s a new appearance I must embrace if I want to get my revenge from Lora for burning my real face.
It’s all her fault, she’s the cause of all my problems and I’ll make sure she pays dearly for ruining my face.
I must surely take my revenge for all she has done to me along with my uncle and their little brat. They will pay for everything they have done to me most especially that high witch, Lora.
“How do you like your new face?” He asked.
“Yes, I do.”
“Perfect. I think my work here is done.” He uttered.
“Thank you Dr Edward. When is she likely to be discharged?” The older man inquired.
“It will take a week. I will leave you guys to talk to her. Let go.” The doctor replied and left along with the nurses.
“So what do you want to do once you’re off the bed?” The older man asked me suddenly.
“Well, I’ll find the person who burned my face and get the justice I deserve.”
“That means you will have to go back to America.” The woman stated with a warm smile.
“But this is America or it isn’t?”
“Yes dear, it isn’t. You’re in London but you don’t have to worry about anything. We will take care of everything when you’re ready to leave but you won’t be going back alone.”
“What do you mean?”
“Norman and Mary will be by your side along with some escorts.” He stated which made me stare at the lady and the man in black.
“Alright. Thank you.”
“And again whatever you need just name it and we will take care of it.”
“Thank you so much. I’m really grateful for saving me and being so generous to me. Hopefully I will repay you all for your kind favour.”
“You don’t have to thank us. We really should be thanking you for accepting the new face we give you. The person was once precious to us but she’s gone now.”
“I’m really sorry to hear that.”
“Thank you.” She replied with a bitter smile.
I think it really someone she cares so dearly about, but what could have happened to her? I wish I could ask them but it will look like I am invading their privacy.
AUTHOR’S POV
Daisy and Sean were more than sad when the girl didn’t give them a listening ear to listen to what they had to say.
“It’s alright honey. When she’s ready to listen, we’ll tell her whose face she’s using but for now we just have to let her be and help her.” Sean consoled his wife.
“But sweetheart, she should have at least asked whose face we used for her but no; she only cares about going back to where she came from. Like who does that, darling?”
“Just forget about it, my love. It clearly shows in her eyes, she wants to take revenge on the person who hurt her.” He responded and urged Norman to watch over the girl as he headed to the doctor’s office along with his wife and Mary who was also sad about the situation.
“We need to help her and hopefully after she’s done having her revenge, we can tell her about Madison.” He added and she accepted.
***
Throughout the night Daisy kept thinking about the girl whose reflection is of her daughter’s as the old time memories they both shared together came running back on her head like it was just yesterday.
She was a bit disappointed that the girl didn't know whose face she was given but she hopes her perspective changes on the girl.
The next morning, Daisy woke up early and made her daughter's favourite dish with a smile on her face thinking the girl with her daughter's face is still her baby girl until she recalled the incident that happened the previous night.
However, since she made the dish out of love thinking the strange girl called Casabella is her own daughter, she decided to take the meal to the hospital for her along with her husband.
On getting to the girl's room they found her sleeping peacefully and kept staring at her face recalling how much they missed her daughter badly.
The girl who wasn't deep in sleep felt someone was staring at her and opened up her eyes to see the same couple who had saved her life standing.
"Good morning sir, good morning ma'am." She greeted them politely and quietly rested her head on the edge of the bed with a pillow.
"Good morning dear. How are you feeling today?" Daisy asked and walked close to sit right next to the girl on the bed.
"I'm feeling good." She replied which made Daisy smile and took out the flask of food and placed it on a table close to the bed.
"I made you breakfast." Daisy said to her with a smile. She felt like holding the girl's face and embracing her but she just couldn't before the strange girl who is only using her late daughter's face.
"Oh...thank you ma'am."
"You don't have to call me that. You can call me Daisy or Mrs Williams."
"Mrs Williams will do." She uttered, still feeling awkward around them.
Sean who noticed how she was behaving decided to assure her they can't harm her.
"My dear, you need to relax your mind, we won't hurt you so feel free with us."
"That's right child. We won't harm you in any way also we're willing to support you in getting back the justice you deserve."
"Okay, I'll try." She responded as Daisy took out a plate and served her some bacon and eggs along with fresh orange juice.
"Go on, have a bite. My bacon is always tasty and great. I'm sure you will love it."
Daisy, who was watching closely how the girl was eating, knew to make the girl trust them, she must become friends with her first and form a daughter and mother bond with her, only then will the girl trust and accept them.
