CHAPTER 46
THREE MONTHS LATER
AUTHOR’S POV
For the past three months, Sean, Daisy, Mary and Norman had been checking on the girl given Madison’s face and praying for a miracle to happen as it has been three months yet no sign of her waking up.
Sean and Daisy already told Norman the whole truth about the girl who they used their daughter’s face with since he was to be trusted and also vowed to work hand in hand with them in seeing his late boss get the justice she deserves.
Mary on the other hand, on the night she left her boss’ mansion and also received a message from her best friend to run the company for the main time without showing at the house, grew suspicious after a week without hearing a word or seeing her boss and best friend and knew something was wrong with her boss and had to check the mansion.
On arriving at the mansion she saw her boss’ parents and the personal bodyguard but couldn’t see her boss and best friend and had to ask which she was then informed of her death and promised to fight alongside with her best friend’s parents to find justice for her.
The four of them made it inside the hospital after being informed to rush down to the hospital and met Dr Edward on his way to a patient’s room.
“You are all here. Welcome!” The doctor welcomed them warmly.
“Thank you Dr Edward. We had to rush up here when you called. Did something bad happen to the girl?” Sean enquired, anxiously.
“The girl has regained consciousness but we are yet to remove the bandages off her face.”
“Finally!” Daisy exclaimed.
“It’s indeed a miracle. I’m going to her ward, let's proceed.” He urged them and they all followed him.
On getting inside the ward, Sean and his wife saw the five doctors who joined Dr Edward with the operation and two nurses running some tests on the girl.
“They’re here already. We have been waiting for you guys. It is really a miracle she has regained consciousness this early.” One of the doctors with bald hair said with a smile.
“That’s true, Alfred. In all my years as a doctor, I haven’t witnessed any miracle like this.” Another doctor with grey hair admitted.
“Since they are here, can we proceed to take off the bandage off her face?” Dr Edward asked his colleagues who agreed and urged the two nurses to take off the bandage off the girl’s face.
Daisy, who was extremely anxious as she grabs hold of her husband by the shoulder as they all focus on the nurses who begin to remove the bandages.
The moment the bandages were taken off the girl’s face, Daisy, Sean, Norman and Mary all exclaimed as they stared at the girl's face which was exactly Madison's own.
They couldn’t believe their eyes when the figure in front of their eyes looked like the real Madison to them.
“She's my baby girl.” Daisy gushed out as tears fell off her face freely.
“That’s true. No one will know she isn’t our baby girl because nothing can be differentiated.” Sean added and held his wife to himself.
“We really did a perfect job on her face.” One among Dr Edward’s colleagues admitted.
“Yes, we really did a good job.” Another one agreed.
Dr Edward was more than proud of himself and his colleagues for doing a perfect operation and was confident the patient could have a free life without a damaged face again.
“It will take some couple of hours for the patient to wake up, Mr Williams. We have administered some drugs to make her feel stronger and better.” He stated.
“Okay, thank you so much doctor.” Sean responded and shook hands with the doctors.
“You’re welcome Mr Williams.” Dr Edward answered and urged his colleagues and the nurses out and left Sean, Daisy and the two other guests with them.
“I can’t believe I am staring at the face of my baby after three months.” Daisy expressed and walked up to the sleeping figure on the bed.
“Me too honey but let not forget she isn’t our baby girl. She’s only being given her face and who knows if she will accept us in her life.”
“Sir, you need to be positive. I’m sure she will have to accept you guys for saving her life.” Norman assured him.
“Yes Mr Williams. We need to hope for the best.”Mary added which made him nod in response.
Mark’s POV
Our lives have been going great without any form of threat on Rosy in the last three months.
But I still couldn’t get over her no matter how I tried. Sometimes I dream of her or mistake her for one else. Those moments were one of the hardest I have ever gone through and till this moment, I still find it difficult to move without her.
“Buddy, what are you lost on?” I heard Alex’s voice saying to me.
“Nothing, bro. How’s Rosy?”
“She’s sleeping in her room. She really needs it because last night was so wild and romantic between us.”
“It's a good thing all the rooms are soundproof.” I mouthed and got off the bed to the bathroom.
“Don’t tell me you’re jealous?”
“Fuck off buddy. Why would I be jealous about that?”
“Who knows you might be. Less I forget, what about your woman, what’s her name again. Yes, it’s Casabella, isn’t it?”
“She’s not my woman yet and why do you have to bring her matter up?” I yelled from the shower.
“Come on buddy. In the last few months, I have noticed a wild change in you on something which I am sure has to do with a woman.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about man so drop the drama.” I cautioned him.
He really doesn’t know how I am feeling as she’s missing and I don’t know where or how she’s surviving alone.
“Okay.” He grumbled.
“Much better. If you’re done, you can take your leave. I want to be left alone.”
“Alright but there’s something I should have told you in America. At first I thought it was something I could handle alone but I can’t do it without you.”
“And what’s that?” I asked, walking out of the shower.
I found it strange when he said those words which are unlike him. He wasn’t the type to hide secrets away from me but bursting out this way made me think he has something hidden up his sleeve.
“Do you remember the day you asked me to go get my stuff in my mansion?”
“Yeah, what about it?”
“Well, I was attacked by some people. I don’t know why but I almost got killed but I fought them all.”
“What the hell! Why didn’t you tell me? What if you got killed at that moment?” I bellowed at him.
“I’m really sorry man but Rosy was with us so I couldn’t say a word then.”
“But after that moment, why didn’t you inform me about it and had to do that now?” I requested.
“I’m sorry Mark. I thought I could handle the situation but I was wrong. But these few days I just keep recalling the incident and who could be behind it.”
“From now on, you must report anything that happens with it, is that okay?”
“Alright but please, don’t tell Rosy about it. I don’t want her to get so worried and scared.”
“I won’t say a shit to her and the same applies to you too. I will find out who was behind the attack and you must stay out of it, no matter what.”
“Okay, thanks man.” He uttered and I nod in response.
I don’t know if it is still the handwork of the devil’s eye and my mother but I must find a way to stop them by all means.
They can’t be after Rosy and then Alex who hasn’t done anything to them. I must get to the bottom of these but first I need to give Victor a little assignment on my mother.
AUTHOR’S POV
She felt a sharp pain in her head and lazily opened her eyes to see herself on a bed fixed with a series of wires to her body.
She looked around the room trying to recall how she got there and why all the wires are attached to her body.
"Where am I?" She uttered to herself and tried to rest her head on the tip of the bed when she heard a distant shout outside.
"Get the doctor now. The patient is losing a lot of blood."
After paying attention to the words, it then drowns on her, she's in a hospital but how she got there is what she doesn't know.
She gathered enough strength and rested her head at the tip of the bed as the incident of how her aunt burned her face with a hot iron and how she left the house running in the middle of the night until something hard hit her down.
