Isabela Part 5

“If you’re going to marry my brother, I’ll be the aunt of your babies. You won’t be able to try to push me away or anything like that because I know I’m going to be doting on the future ‘Natezinhus.’ So just forgive me already and stop playing hard to get!”
I can’t believe I’m hearing this. If that bitch is manipulating me, she’s going to make me feel really bad. Suddenly, I start to understand how easy it is for people to like her. Bia can show a sweet side that I never, in the most remote possibilities, imagined existed within her.
“Only after the polygraph!” I snarl, pretending to be irritated. “And I’m not having babies!”
Damn! I still can’t believe I’m talking to Bianca as if I were a mature woman. Yesterday, I would have skinned her alive if I could.
She could still be fooling me. Who would offer a polygraph if they were lying?
“I met him in an ad for Ravina. I’ve been working as an influencer for a few years now...”
And Bianca goes on for quite a while about her involvement with André. I’m shocked to discover that they don’t have anything too serious and that she plans to study abroad at some point. That’s why their relationship is more of “friends with benefits.” I thought it was something much deeper, especially since she calls him “master,” and he calls her “my girl.” That’s super embarrassing...
It’s strange and, at the same time, incredible to see this other side of her, human and common. And even though she’s not Nate’s identical twin, I still see his mannerisms when she speaks. As she laughs, her lips take on the same shape as Nate’s.
We start talking about Bill and end up with Bianca telling me thousands of gossip stories about Nate over the past few years. It’s clear on her face how much she loves her brother. Every time she mentions “Revolta,” she shows how proud she is to be part of something created by Nate. She tells me how he planned every detail, thinking of everything from the decoration to the names of the blocks.
“So the strategy worked?” Nate asks, startling both Bianca and me. The conversation was so fluid and interesting that I didn’t see him come in. I didn’t even realize two hours had passed, and I hadn’t vomited in that time. In fact, I’m dying of hunger. “I would give you a kiss, My Sun, but you’re smelling a bit ripe. Want help taking a shower?”
It’s strange to see his affectionate tone with me. I know he slept with me last night and all, but my clearest memories are of our fight here. I look down at my bare legs, as I’m only wearing a huge white sweatshirt of his. And for some bizarre reason, I feel embarrassed around him.
Why is he wearing dirty clothes? It looks like there’s cement on his white shirt and a lot of dirt on his black pants. He’s wearing a cap backward, looking like the boy I met in school, who used to wear one on days he was too lazy to comb his hair.
“Stop being a perv! The girl needs to try to eat, not for you to eat her!”
“Shut up, Bianca! Don’t start getting into our business!” he pretends to argue, walking over to her and giving her a playful flick on the nose, earning a smack on the arm in response. “I meant a real shower, not about sex.”
How did things become so light? It’s nice to see them together without feeling anything bad. In school, I was always furious with her for the way she treated me. In this moment, I find it cute how close they are.
“Now tell me: have you finally become friends?”
