Chapter 199: Part 2

**Avery**

I let the shimmering fabric fall from my fingers and extended my hand to him, my heart full to bursting. "Dad," I said, the word feeling both new and ancient on my tongue. "Will you walk me down the aisle?"

His eyes glistened. He leaned down and kissed my forehead, and in that moment, a fractured piece of my soul slotted back into place. A warmth spread through me, a feeling of being whole, of being truly known. In that instant, I knew, with absolute certainty, that we would all be united soon, and together, we would end the Goddess.

"My Dark Princess," he murmured, his voice thick with an emotion he couldn't hide. "It will be my honor." He glanced towards the altar, a predatory glint in his eye. "Even if that jackass Donn is one of your grooms."

We both laughed, a shared, perfect moment.

When the music swelled, a triumphant, powerful melody, I stepped out onto the aisle with Adrik on my arm. Time stood still. A single, unified gasp swept through the crowd as they saw the legendary, fearsome Adrik, alive and in the flesh, walking his daughter to her wedding.

I saw Donn, his jaw practically on the floor, bumping Cassius. "Brother, trade me places," he hissed, his eyes wide.

Cassius let out a low chuckle, not taking his eyes off me. "Nope. You reap what you sow."

Donn elbowed him lightly in the ribs. "I won't save you next time you cross our wife."

The possessive, protective words sent a thrill through me, but I had to make one thing clear. I pulled Adrik's head down, my lips brushing his ear as I whispered, "If you touch my mates, I will cage you. Even though you are one of my fathers, I love you. I love them too."

He stopped dead in the middle of the aisle. For a terrifying second, I thought I had gone too far. Then, he looked down at me, a slow, magnificent smile spreading across his face. Without warning, he scooped me up into his arms, lifting me off my feet as if I weighed nothing, and spun me around. A delighted, surprised laugh escaped me as the world became a blur of smiling faces and shimmering ocean.

"Avery," he said, his voice ringing with a love that had been silenced for two decades. "I love you too, and I have waited so long to say it." He set me gently back on my feet, his golden eyes twinkling with mischief. "I promise that I will only hurt them a little. When they fuck up."

I laughed, the sound echoing across the bluff, full of joy and promise. "Deal," I said, tucking my arm back into his. "Now let's get me married."
