CHAPTER 19

She would cry and throw a tantrum but that woman will beat her with a whip till her back or legs bleed before she stops. That night she will sleep without eating anything and without treatment.
Her meals could be counted on one hand, when she was in a happy mood, she would let her eat more and when she was not, she would sleep hungry. Enchantia became a child maid and couldn’t fight back.
When she was three that woman will make her to cook something on the stove and she got burnt countless times but that didn’t make the cooking stop, it only intensified.
She was a child who didn’t know a thing and yet when she made a mistake, she would be punished by not eating, whipped, locked inside the small room. Sometimes the woman will leave for days without leaving any food for her and the child Enchantia will have to improvise.
It was during a desperate time when she didn’t eat any food for two days just drinking some water when she noticed that as long as she concentrated, she could move anything.
To a child who was hungry the only thing she could think of was to leave the tiny room and find herself some food. It took many hours before she managed to open the door. She searched throughout the house and found some food to eat.
Because she had been starving for days, she overate which resulted in one crazy stomach ache. In order not to be caught she got rid of any evidence and locked herself back into the room.
Every single night she will find food to eat and return back to the room. When the woman returned, she was in a happy mood so she let her out, cleaned her up and gave her some hot meal.
Whenever Doreen was angry, she would cuss at her and blame her for her misfortunes. She grew up hearing that if it wasn’t for her mother then she would not be stuck in this tiny town with her and she would be with that man happily together.
Enchantia grew up knowing that her mother came in and disrupted the relationship between Doreen and the man that she loved. Sometimes she will just scream and throw anything at her.
She lost count of the times she broke her hands, legs, neck and the deep cuts were like the daily prayer. She grew up resistant to pain and this led her to keep on training herself.
When she realized that she could conjure up fire from nowhere and control it she kept on practicing until she was four years old. She decided that enough is enough and one day she packed her satchel with food and a set of clothes to change.
She got rid of anything that would point that she is a child. Despite not leaving the house she watched a lot of TV and learnt so much from it. Since she couldn’t separate from her or call the police, she decided to get rid of the problem so that in the future she won’t see it again.
Enchantia left the house at night while Doreen was sleeping and she shielded herself making her small body invisible to any naked eye. She set the fire on the house and made sure that no one will be able to open those doors just in case someone tries to help.
The fire only concentrated on her house and didn’t touch the neighbors, she watched as fire department and police came. She watched as that charred body was carried out of the house by the coroner.
After making sure that her abuser was dead, Enchantia left for the bus station and took a bus to the nearest city. She decided to go to Falcon to look for her parents, however she forgot that she didn’t know her parents’ names. Doreen kept on talking about Falcon so that was her destination.
Because she masked herself, she didn’t need to pay for any transport but took free rides.
This journey took her three days before she got lost in that huge park. She was sleeping when the police found her and as clever as she was, she pretended to be mute and they didn’t find anything related to her.
When the doctors examined her, it came out normal. It was obvious from the satchel that the child had been abandoned and she was just in shock.
Enchantia stopped her search after finding how crazy she had been to go and look for someone in such a big city without even knowing their names. She lost hope of ever finding her parents and a year passed.
A year later she met the Heartily’s, the couple took an interest in her and she liked them well. If she couldn’t find her own biological parents then she will choose her own foster parents.
Enchantia enchanted the couple and she returned back to their home with them. From then on, the five-year-old became the couple’s child. Nevaeh would tear up whenever she cleaned her body and saw those scars.
Nevaeh and Isaac were very good to her and provided her with everything they could that was in their capabilities. She never regretted not searching for her parents. She didn’t have any good memories when it comes to her.
Enchantia didn’t want to experience being bullied so she didn’t stop practicing until she met some old lady who helped her with books related to witch craft. She learnt of who she really was and she accepted it fully.
She became stronger daily; she began to concoct potions and the more powerful they were the more money she makes. She used a group of gangsters that failed to teach her a lesson to do her business.
Once in a while she will give the boys the potions and they will sell it. The money she banked it and used some of it to buy herself some delicacies. She didn’t want to trouble her foster parents with everything.
She had kept this secret for years and didn’t want her foster parents to find out. What if they abandon her when they know?
