CHAPTER 21

Darcie was very anxious as she waited for the fax to come in. this was the day she was going to meet with the elders and discuss Enchantia. The only thing that was stopping her was the DNA results she needed as proof to make the family members believe that she had found her child.
They love her so much that she was willing to bet on her life that if they refuse to accept Enchantia as she is then she will kill herself. After keeping her in comma for eighteen years she doubted if they were willing to part with her that soon.
When the document came out, she quickly took it and smiled happily. She rushed to the hall where the elders were waiting for her and she took her seat.
“Tell us the news child,” one of the elders spoke up first and they all looked at her anxiously.
In the Leigh family it was well known that as long as one has a child dur8ng marriage or out of wedlock, every child will be brought home, they didn’t leave any seed outside.
Knowing that there is a possibility that a child of their own had been by herself or with some strangers for years, was truly petrifying.
“I just received the results and the child is definitely my daughter. When I saw her, I automatically knew that she was the one. She looks exactly like you mom,” Darcie spoke happily as she looked at her mother who smiled teary at her.
Aya knew how hard it had been for her the past seventeen years when Darcie was in a comma. Her heart truly ached, just imagining how painful it was for her daughter to have been taken away of her own child for all these years was just too much.
“Where is she?” one of the elders asked.
“She was adopted by a couple and they have been treating her well all these years so she is fine and doing well.”
Hearing this they all felt better and so the next series of questions began. Darcie answered them as much as possible but when another dropped, she froze and began to cry.
“Darcie what’s wrong?” Aya asked worriedly after seeing her daughter’s outburst.
“Mom, it’s a long story. This is the real reason why I wanted to meet all of you today.”
“Just tell us.”
Darcie began to narrate how their meeting with Enchantia went and all the elders were stupefied. They also didn’t expect that the girl will respond badly to the news. It was understandable why she reacted that way since these parents were not in her life for nearly eighteen years.
However, the more Darcie narrated everything the more shocked and angrier they got. How could such a child suffer like that in the hands of a lunatic? It didn’t even bother them that the child killed someone. They were relieved that she got rid of such a devil otherwise their offspring would have died under the hands of that woman.
“It doesn’t matter if she killed that woman, she is still our child and should come back home,” the elder spoke after thinking it through.
They have survived for this long because they were ruthless to their enemies and merciful to their friends and those that repented. What the little girl did was just to survive and live a life without being enslaved. Who didn’t have some blood on their hands?
“There is an issue again and this time it is even serious.”
“What is it?”
“Enchantia is a very powerful witch,” Darcie dropped the bomb and everyone became quiet. There was not even a single sound as the elders looked at each other.
They all knew the history pertaining the last witch that was found in their family and she was ruthlessly burned on a pyre. How could another show up after so many centuries?
“I wanted to let you know that I will rather die than to see my child suffering because of the family name. she is about to be married to the Chavez family and you know how ruthless that family is. I need you to know that she is a force not to be reckoned with, she will not allow anyone to kill her or make her suffer any injustice,” Darcie was like a radio talking non-stop.
All this information was like micro bombs being dropped on every one’s head. They heard so many things they were about to go crazy. How could they not tell that this was a direct threat directed at them?
To think that the girl alliance herself with the Chaves, she was truly capable. It was the elder with the highest authority who finally spoke to break the awkwardness in the hall.
“No one will kill her or cause any harm to her. That incident will never be repeated again,” the elder sighed and his voice was filled with sadness.
“That is good then,” she was relieved to hear that.
“What did you mean when you said she is about to get married?”
“Oh, unfortunately Enchantia had been engaged for a while now to Keaton Chavez, the Chavez patriarch,” Darcie answered with a sad tone.

She didn’t get to know her daughter and yet she was already leaving for her own marital home. How can she be happy?

“Can’t she delay the marriage? She is still young after all,” Aya asked her daughter, she also didn’t want to see her granddaughter go before knowing her.
“She doesn’t want to see me at all or her dad. I messed up bad and I don’t think that she will forgive me at all,” Darcie made a confession and everyone looked up to her once more and she explained what happened.
Aya could only sigh with grief after hearing this, she was also sure that Enchantia won’t be agreeing to see them any time soon. If it was her, she would also choose to forget about it.
“What should I do now?”
“You need to wait and let her calm down. We mustn’t use force or else she will simply move further away from us.”
“How about we approach her foster family?”
“Are you going nuts? The second you do that then that will be the end. You heard Darcie, no one is allowed to approach the foster family until Encha forgives her biological parents,” the elder spoke in a loud voice and everyone behaved.
They were a bit reckless, there would have caused a great problem. The elder however didn’t say that they were not allowed to go and look at her from afar. Aya was happy in her heart as she schemed what she will be doing in the following weeks.
The meeting finally got adjourned and Aya took her daughter to their villa where the two sat and talked for a while before Aya got a handle of everything. Aya decided to leave for Falcon and see her granddaughter as she couldn’t wait to wait any longer.
She didn’t want to meet her after she was married. What if she refuses to acknowledge her family even after coaxing for months?
With the family problem solved Darcie went to visit the elder to have some confirmation on the witch issue. The elder wasn’t surprised to see her come to him after the meeting and let her come in and gave her a seat.
“I am sorry for disturbing you, grand elder. I just couldn’t sleep it off. Can you please tell me why something like that cannot be repeated?”
Looking at this young offspring that he had watched growing up, felt depressed when she returned battered up and in a comma. The clan had been depressed for long and now that she was alive and well, he was at peace.
With the addition of a powerful individual in their family then the Leighs will be safe for a lifetime.
“It happened like this…”
Centuries ago, in order to get rid of the Leighs power and that woman who was beautiful like a goddess, the spoiled princess of the royal family framed their young lady and accused her of being a witch.
Evidences were planted and at that time the young lady got possessed by a spirit and she truly behaved like a witch. At that time witches got burned if they ever got discovered. It didn’t matter whether the witch was a white one or a dark one. All witches were gotten rid of.
